  1. Thanks so much you guys for all the positive comments. Made me feel some better. I'm still frustrated but I'm going to go at it day by day and hope it goes quickly like you all said. Thank you again, I really appreciate it. The 6 months should help me learn a lot more so I don't have so many more compliations and such when surgery does finally come around! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
  2. I think that all doctor's offices are different when it comes to the psych evaluation lol. I am still waiting for mine but like I said my nurse told me 3 hours. (ugh) lol
  3. Mine is going to be 3 hours too. NO idea why it's so long but that's what I was told. It's sucky. Lol
  4. Why must I be so impatient  I just started my 6 month diet a few days ago and I still have 5 1/2 months to go. I am frustrated. The diet is going well I have lost 3 pounds but I am just so impatient when it comes to the long wait to finally having surgery and having this diet be over. I think I am so frustrated because I weigh 416 pounds (started at 419) and I have a hard time fitting into chairs and such and not just that. I also barely fit into my clothes anymore (30/32) I can't find clothes to fit me and I only have one pair of jeans that truly feels comfortable. Being 22 and not being able to find clothes is horrible. I have never really had a life to begin with. I have been big since I was a baby. Everywhere I go people stare at me. I feel like the laughing stock of everyone. In school (highschool and college) I never fit in the desks and it's just hard. Sitting down on furniture (such as couches) I have to be really careful, the old couch we had broke (thanks to me ) and now we have a new one that we've had for like 3 months and It's already breaking some (a piece of wood in it snapped) I know I am losing and this is going to be a long journey, but I can't help but feel miserable at the same time. :frown: I am super-excited I started this journey in april, but it just seems like it's going to be forever before my actual surgery and I've always been very impatient. I just wish things went more quickly. I know I may seem careless with this post but I am just in one of those moods (we all have them) And I just wish I was further along in my process. I can't wait for the bandwagon to start moving more quickly and for my surgery to finally be here. October/November seems so far away. I am excited for it to finally be here though. Thank you so much for listening to my pathetic vent. I hope I don't seem too heartless.
  5. My doctor requires an overnight stay. I think it's better to stay overnight anyway. Wish you luck!
  6. My insurance requires a 6 month diet and psych evaluation nothing about 5 years history though. I guess because I've been big my whole life I dunno. Maybe also cause my bmi is 61 either way it's hard waiting but I hope it goes quickly. 5 and a half months to go !! good luck to you and your husband
  7. I have a 6 month diet for my insurance and then 2 weeks before surgery 2 weeks of protein shakes twice a day and a small meal for dinner
  8. Congrats and good luck to all. I won't be banded still oct or november (kicks the 6 month diet) lol I hope time goes by quick
  9. You should ask questions like how does it work...how many surgeries has the doctor done, food questions, prices/insurance tests and nutritional stuff. There's lots of things you should ask.
  10. Congrats, and welcome to the group! Good luck!
  11. That's normal. We all get nervous just think positive. Hope things go well.
  12. Congratulations! I'm still waiting for my psych appt I hope it goes well. I hope your journey is quick and stress-free!
  13. Aww. That's so sweet of your mother. I would sit and talk with her about it and make sure it's what she wants to do. My mom is on the heavy side but not big enough for lapband so she is just eating healthy with me while I go through the process and exercising with me. Just have a talk with your mom and see what's up. That's so sweet though, brings a tear to my eye. I wish you luck in everything you do.
  14. Congrats. If only everyone's journey only took 9 weeks that's quick! My surgery wont be until October or November. Congrats again and good luck!
  15. Thanks so much for the story. My surgery won't be till October or November but reading these stories eases the worries for when the time is here!
  16. Hello Laura and welcome! When I started learning about lapband I was so excited and now that I'm on my journey I couldn't be happier. It's great to know we are going to get our health back. I'm 22 around your age so if you need to know anything ask.
  17. Does anyone know if any stores like Walmart/Kmart etc have scales that goto 400 ? possibly 450 I weigh 416 but I know I'll be below 400 soon.
  18. Congrats. Glad things went well.
  19. Congrats. My insurance approved me as long as I do the6 month diet then I have to fax the stuff in and wait for another approval. I hope I don't get declined.
  20. It depends on your insurance. My insurance requires the 6 month diet. I started today. It seems like forever but I think it's going to go quickly! I lost 3 pounds!
  21. It sounds like you just drank too much liquid for your stomach ajusting to the fill.
  22. I know exactly how you feel. I just started my 6 month diet and when I found out I had to do it I was very sad that I had to wait so long. But in the long run you learn so much more and it makes everything in the end so much easier. I had my first appt for it today. All I can say is stick with it and keep trying I am 22 and 416 pounds I know it's hard and you want to hate yourself for failing but you gotta pick yourself right back up and try again. I had days when I cried and cried. Once you start the process and come on here and talk to people like I do it helps time go by faster. Just keep your head up it will get easier. And know that when you finish you can finally start to have a life. Good luck!
  23. Good luck! I just started my 6 month diet today! 11 more appts to go and I already lost 3 pounds!
  24. I would think you would still be approved because you did as you were told. I think it proves even more that you need the surgery. I wish you luck though.
  25. That's odd. My seminar was 2 hours, plenty of time for everything. Never heard of an all day one.
