  1. I had alot of pain after surgery too, bending, turning over in bed etc. I would just hold my hand too apply pressure when turning over, i didnt really bend for like a month. cleaning the tub was a big no no. It finally went away after about a month.
  2. I would lo0ve a pepsi too, been banded for 3 months. i took a sip of one the kids and I thought my stomach would explode. Sure cured that addiction. I still want one though. I just think of the pop rocks and soda myth, exploding stomach. Thats how it feels
  3. After my first fiil i had no restriction, after my second fill i had it. My doctor had me come back after my first fill in 2 weeks. I know some doctors wait longer. If thats the case just call your doc and make another appointment.
  4. i was eating so much that I thought my band was not in. I am now up to my third fill(just got one 2 hours ago) after my second fill I got some restriction. It will happen dont worry. But you still have to watch what you eat.

  8. I would like to join all the february 2008 bandsters. I was banded on February 8 and have lost 33 pounds. I would like to know if this is average for this time.
  9. I just started riding after about 20 years, my butt hurts so bad any suggestions?
  10. I have heard that too, but i also noticed that when doing Atkins you were advised of the same thing. i also noticed that when I cut back on Crystal Light, nutra Sweet, and Splenda I lose weight faster. Sometimes drinking only water is hard for me, and I use these as an treat when Im craving something sweet.
  11. my pr-op was only 2 days of liquid, im glad couldnt stand the 2 days, let alone 2 weeks.
  12. I am so happy for you. My husband did not want me to get the lapband either. i think he was more concerned about the complications of surgery, and what would happen if I didnt make it. But as the saying goes if mama not happy, no body is happy. I have been banded 3 months, and its still a challenge. Im a sweets eater and I miss it so much. Just yesterday I had to talk myself out of eating some oreo cookies. I am trying to lose a certain amount by my b-day next month. I wish u well on your journey.
  13. Hi Amy, Congrats on allmost getting there, I have been banded for 3 months. I live in Delaware next to Elkton, Maryland. Good Luck!
  14. Hello, I have a lapband and have lost 30.lbs with 70 more to go. If you have alot to lose I would get the gastric. the lapband is a tool but you have to resist cravings and sometimes its hard. I have some restriction but I think I need more. Unfortunately I am a sweets eater and those tend to go down easy, whereas I have a harder time with chicken.Sometimes its frustrating when I go to group meetings and those with the GB lose weight so fast. Every day I dedicate my self to my lapband and doing the right thing. It is your personal choice but for alot of weight, I would take the GB.
  15. My favorite tuna fish and saltine crackers, crackers turn to mush when you chew. I also broke up the crackers in tuna fish.
  16. What i did was take the diet swiss miss cocoa and vanilla protein and made a hot chocolat it was the only way i could drink protein, it gets me through
  17. Hi karen, i live in delaware 5 years, but i lived in philly for 32 years.
  18. I had 2 fills so far and they were no problem. Just a little bit of numbing medicine and then the saline. if your scared of needles then i heard its more difficult. Just take a deep breath and relax.
  19. Maybe some crystal light or diet v8 splash, if you drink juice its a whole lot of calories, read the labels and you will see what i mean.
  20. For me getting a fill was painless, I read other posts on it being soooo painful and got myself all worked up.My doc was finished so fast I was like is that it? Somethings are just your personal experience, But mines didnt hurt at all.
  21. are you sure your not married to my husband? A week after surgery he came in with girl scout cookies, thin mints and yes I te some and then got heaRTBURN, NOW HE eats after i go to sleep, but that popcorn sure smelled good last night
  22. I got banded 3/8/2008 and i got sick of soup real fast, my nutrionist said it was ok to eat saltine crackers, because once you start chewing they become soft, crackers and tuna was a staple for me and also bran cereal and mashed potatoes.
