  1. Ok, glad you're going to stay. Cool. But if you are serious about losing the weight, maybe take special note of your attitude. An analogy would be if I went on a dental forum and loudly proclaimed that Flouride is deciet and bullsh**t, and that it didn't work for me. See, there is a legitimate debate to be had there (in your case with the band as well), but it's all in the way you present yaself.
  2. Looks to me like Viscio was pissed about not getting any advertising accomidations in return for his consulting work....As for the other allegations, like OH only wanting to generate revenue, libeling doctors, and discrediting / banning people because they disagree with the posts, all I can say is (in M. Night Shamalan voice as heard on Robot chicken) "What a twist!" Anybody surprised by the allegations against OH will also be shocked to hear of my lawsuit against the ocean being too salty.
  3. That would be the coolest. video. ever!! I wish I had thought to ask for a copy of mine!!
  4. Thank you, SS and Chickie. In the future, please read ALL my posts in that Peter Griffin voice.
  5. No, that's not the only thing you are saying.I believe the title of your post is lapband = deceit and bullsh**t. Now if you have some legit comments / questions, feel free to fire away. But don't come on to a lapband site and take that tone. If you really are a DDS (which, in all honesty, I seriously doubt.....If you are, lay off the N2O) then do some research into how the band is supposed to work. Serious questions / comments only from this point forward, K? Thx.
  6. Welcome kathyq. You certainly can find the answers to very minor things on here....but since things vary quite a bit from person to person (and even instructions from doctor to doctor), your doc is the ultimate resource. Good luck on your journey!
  7. Welcome JRG. I wanna be sedated!! There's a LOT of info scattered on here for a potential new bandster to look over, so pull up a chair and get busy reading!! It'll be nice to have a philosophy dudette on here, I Kant remember the last time that happened (see what I did there? Philosophy puns ROCK). Seriously, there are pros and cons that need to be considered with the band. It's not a magic pill...it's a helpful tool. You'll probably understand mo betta after your seminar. There's a metric ton of friendly regulars on here, lots of support, advice, etc. It's a wonderful site. Good luck on your journey, and keep us all posted on your progress!
  8. So....you hated cheetos, chocolate and ice cream? Wonderful! That's great success! For life?!? Most Docs I know want at least a couple of follow up visits... I've met those people too. I live in the rual south. You must have had an extermely skilled surgeon Well, at least we agree on this point. I wish everybody would think before they jump in. Don't you wish you'd have thought it out a little better? Although if you could lose more weight in the last 4 months than the previous 3 banded years, I wonder why you needed surgery in the first place? Likely you weren't as fat as me.
  9. So......you mean the stomach is the most oxygen-rich organ in your body? Or did the surgeon place the band around your lungs?
  10. Sorry, were you wearing hair extensions? I was too busy contemplating the nudie pics. *creepy laugh* Ps- If you weren't nekkid, don't ruin the illusion for me, K?
  11. I'm still not 100% totally sold on Palin...but she did deliver a brilliant speech.
  12. Tap, I can tell you are a woman. A dude would have never made this particular statement...
  13. Yesss!!!! It's Alive! Alive!!
  14. Dammit!! One-upped again!! It's a good thing I've been slow-witted all my life.....now I'm accustomed to getting this abuse and mockery!!

A papercut?!? LMAO......now that's some poor quality TP.
  16. Universal healthcare is a beautiful theory. In actuality, it would leave our current healthcare system in flaming ruins. The words "Pearl Harbor" come to mind. IndioGirl, your insurance premiums have likely gone up because the cost of providing that benefit has increased for your company (thus the influx of stuff like companies making employees quit smoking, lose weight, quit drinking, etc. It's the only way they can afford to provide insurance). Now think of what will happen if the government mandates that all business owners must provide (even limited) insurance bennies (Obama already wants to raise taxes for businesses).....costs for the goods / services those business supply will go through the roof. Also, If you don't have any personal experience, go and visit any VA (veteran, not Virginia...lol) hospital. Those places are a trainwreck compaired to a hospital in the private sector. Having rambled on and on about this, I agree that in an ideal world, everybody should have insurance....but we're not ready to tackle that quite yet. IMO, a good first step would be to close the loophole so that everybody with a steady job would be able to get some sort of government subsidity for insurance.
  17. welcome to the club!
  18. Uh, aren't you around waist size 32/34? That's not much of a spare tire unless you're 4'7"....Also, If you're dead set on trying for the six pack, you'll probably have to radically change your diet (almost zero fat intake) and bump the cardio waaaaay up. You'll need to get around 3-4% body fat before you'll be able to get that ripped 6 pack look. Genetics plays a part as well. Not everybody has those well-defined ab muscles (even some bodybuilders).
  19. Hang in there PR. Great to hear that you're getting back into the swing of things. I'm sure we all have bad weeks....the thing is to step it right back up when the party is over.
  20. I don't know if they would or not. As it is, the dems haven't really been attacking, as far as I can tell. The media has been ravaneous.....but we should expect that.
  21. I have a new rant! I just heard on the news that Don LaFontaine died!! Noooooooo......his voice was amazing!
  22. Noooooooo! C'mon, thread, you can do it! Live damn you......Live!! *starts CPR*

SNT, it wasn't such a good day to be a vol fan.....even worse weekend to be the vols' kicker!!! I wonder if they gave him a whuppin' on the plane ride home?
  24. Ahhhh.....but how do we know you didn't? This could well be Mr. Mac, who rigged the stationary bike to explode in a pathetic bid to collect on the secret life insurance policy he took out. Or maybe it really is you, Mac.
  25. PS, nobody need be hatin' on my cool new avatar! lol....Do I need to post a link to the "build your own avatar" site so everybody can have one??
