  1. Hi Yolanda! Welcome to lapbandtalk! Good luck with your journey!!
  2. Hi Bronxie......it's tough to have to do this without spousal support. Good thing you can always turn to us online! Good luck, Bronxie!
  3. Results vary among us banded. Some of us can drink carbonated beverages, through straws, etc. and some of us cannot. My doctor recommends against carbonation, so I don't drink 'em. I can use a straw, though I will say that, for me at least, the positives outweigh the negatives by roughly 1000000:1. I would absolutely do it again tomorrow. Some do not feel the same way. The thing that strikes me is......has your doctor not covered any of this with you? This is kind of a basic question to be asking with your surgery coming up in like 4 days. I'm not being critical, but having a band (or having any weightloss surgery) is a huge decision. Good luck.
  4. I just got "Nectar" (from Syntrax) and I like it pretty good. You mix it with Water and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. 90 cals 0 fat 0 carb 23 grams Protein per serving

Glouc!!! Where the hell have you been, man?!?
  6. Ah, you know us, Shonda......we'd never make fun of anything you might post in your sleep - deprived state.......hahahahahahaha
  7. Try and focus on the Protein. That'll help. But don't eat anything that you're not cleared for. Are you exercising? Exercise, IMO, is one of the most important factors in weight loss. Some of it is simply being patient....I know it's difficult to hear, but you're in a marathon, not a sprint (cliche' I know). 2 lbs a week average is a pretty fast weight loss, compared to unbanded folks!
  8. Well.....How much are you eating, Kelly? Before you get any fills, a lot of people have little to no restriction.....that makes it more difficult to get portion control in line. Also, I've found that protein is very important for hunger control. Share more details, plz!
  9. Awwww, man.......the waiting game sucks!!
  10. Hi bran. Welcome to lapbandtalk. Most insurance companies make us jump through various hoops, so good luck, and welcome aboard!
  11. Plus it mutes the squeaking springs from all that sex!
  12. Hey Jess, it sounds like you are really on your way! Do you have a supervised diet period like I (and many of us) did? Because that wait can be unbearable, LOL. Welcome aboard and good luck to you!
  13. Hi Cheryl. I'm not from Chicago, but I wanted to welcome you anyway! There is a forum where you can look for bandsters by geographical location.....I'm sure you'll find maybe one or two bandsters from a small city like Chicago . Good luck!
  14. Hi Maglady. Welcome to LapBandTalk. This is a great place to gather information and chat people up with questions. Pull up a chair and look around....the is a lot of information on here. Glad to have you aboard!

True. My singing is legendary. Not in the good way. Anybody catch that one of the dudes had a gastric bypass? The doc pointed it out when they were reviewing a MRI / CAT scan.
  16. plain replied to luluc's topic in The Lounge
Yeah, the difference is that I don't identify very closely with singers.

Ok, so I don't really watch TBL, but it's on now and I'm watching the "race" thing that they're doing. I don't mean to offend all you fans, but this show seems a little.....exploitative. Still I watch, though....
  18. I once dated a girl that could make a golf ball go through a straw.... We don't need to hear about your naughty bedtime antics, Donna!! Friend me too! I'm craaaaaaaaaaazy! (Gratuitous Mike Birbiglia shoutout) Susan, in your sig pic, who's big face is that behind you?
  19. I went in and stirred it up too!!
  20. I know. I'm trying to get my male prostitution biz off the ground right now, but I'm not getting any respect! So you think the organized and petty crime will just let their control of prostitution drop? C'mon.....There will always be illegal prostitution, even if it were legalized. Wow, that sounded weird, didn't it? But to legalize prostitution means that all the workers would agree to the conditions that the law would impart, and there will always be some that won't do that (like the criminal element I mention). Um, yeah, I think they are. What would you call them?
  21. That's why I did it. You're too tight, SNT! Assuming nothing has changed, that is.....I'm running a little behind.... I hear ya! Everytime I "get into" a series it gets cancelled. Cool pics of you and the family! Yes. Yes you are. Just don't friend him. I've "ignored" several friend requests from some exes on FB.....but I did end up adding a few. Thanks. Don't be ashamed to admit that. Be ashamed to admit if you have a birthmark shaped like Alfred Hitchcock and an addiction to sniffing "sharpies". Leslie, this made me laugh. 3 years ago after a NYE party I woke up the next morning and the nails on my left hand were all painted blue. IDK how or why.
  22. Did any of you read "A million little pieces" or whatever the hell that stinker was? My wife was all wowed that it was a true story. By the time I got 30 pages in, i knew it was a crock..... You can't fly on an airline all bloody and with an altered mental status like Mr. Fry (I think that's his name) described. There is no legit dentist in the States that would perform that procedure with no anesthesia. The point is, clearly nobody checked up on this. Mac is totally right......if it (and this new piece) were simply presented as a good story, then all controversy could have been avoided

Hey! All those laws totally make sense.
  24. I've always heard this called a "spit roast".....And BTW, don't explore Urban dictionary TOO close ladies. The "tower" is very very mild compared to some stuff.....*throws up a little*
  25. Thus the Bebe...... This overly violent game will certainly corrupt! I am ashamed of you madam!
