  1. This is why I don't post on here on the weekends, when I'm off. My kids (and to a lesser extent, my wife) jealously bogart my time when I'm not working.
  2. Don't do it, Tap! Stay home and be warm!!
  3. Hey, you can quit yer sassing, missy!! LOL Yea!! Donna thinks I'm an expert! But do try the pacific Rim Sweet....It is like dessert in a glass. Very light, and goes great with fruit. Thnx, work has hella sucked for me lately! Poor me, huh? LOL
  4. It also complicates things, needtosee, that most everybody has a different "speed" internet connection. Some folks can type and post quick......sometimes when I type and hit enter, 6 other sentences can jump ahead of mine. Makes it difficult to follow a conversation.
  5. By the way, I paired down that last one before I posted.....It was too long even by my standards.
  6. I knew SNT was a racist. Slim, please have nothing to do with this one... You kidding? I'm the coolest guy I know! Must resist urge to make gratutitous "18 inch" joke......must resist..... I thought that same thing! "It's the worst insult over there!"....I'm like....uh, worse than stoning your wife to death?!? A butcher, a baker.....a candlestick maker? Must resist urge to make gratutitous "blower" comment....must resist.... We in the biz like to call it a "man-kini". I'm thinking a grand unveiling on my banniversary in Feb. See above, except a Cheetos bag covering the goods. One of those big family-sized bags, smartasses!! I saw a movie like that once! Too Late, Bwahahahahaha..... Man, I am soooo not the jealous type. Not true! the razor blade was descending towards my wrists even as you wrote that. Good thing you chimed in when you did.... You mean a riesling? I love a riesling. My current fave = "Pacific Rim Sweet". Ewwww, Beth, plz refrain from sharing your sick, sick fantasies, LOL
  7. This is probably not a good idea....
  8. Hi piper. The liquid part is tough, but sooooooooo worth it. It helped me to remember that the reason for the liquid diet is to shrink the liver, making the surgery safer. You can do it!!
  9. Hey jjc, welcome to the boards! Don't worry so much about the fills....Some on here have had bad experiences, but most find the fills very easy. Good luck with your surgery!
  10. Heehee...Beth has a RuPaul crush!!
  11. I'll contribute with this very profound quote: Yee-Haw!! I forget who said it...perhaps Ghandi, or Buddha. Hey, don't mind me...I'm just the creepy dude hanging out in the corner with an awkward erection. Carry on, ladies.
  12. Ohhhhhhhh, check out the queen throwing back appletinis while some of us have to work!! :huh2:
  13. Maybe...... Ok, technically, I am the only employee in my dept. But I was referring to the "umbrella" dept that is over mine (and others). My GHC status is the only reason I get internet @ work. Nobody else does.....Of course, my whole hospital might shut down soon, but that's a whole 'nother issue.
  14. Or contraceptive devices.... I was just going to mention those plastic ties!! They are the devil!! Action figures (uh, because we don't technically buy "dolls" at my house) have about 10 of those things....Toy vehicles have about 30, threaded throughout the toy in an intricate pattern. Those things SUCK. Ok, Donna, 2 thoughts here: Who plans a work party without SO's? Isn't that called work? Also, if ya wants to shake that ass effectively, then ya gots to have better ass-shakin' music than "hot stuff", LOL Man, think about here in Texas, where we don't regularly get ice & snow!! When the roads do slick up, people drive like absolute idiots....I've heard more people say "I've got 4 wheel drive so I can get around".....then they go 80 mph. How's that 4 wheel drive gonna stop your car on ice, idiot? Confession: I am the golden haired child of my department. Y'all should really try it sometime, heehee.... PS- I dance just like "Farmer Ted" from 16 Candles. I'm just cool like that.
  15. Hey congrats on the surprise band baby!!
  16. That's EXACTLY who I was going for! Hmmmmmm, I'll bet she would do it, too.....preggers or not!! WTF?!? Disney, a flat screen and you look good in your teeny bikini?!? Man, buy a lottery ticket, because this must be your day!!
  17. Man, you'd think there would be some stipulation that bariatric surgeons had to spend (x) amount of hours educating potential patients. The OP's doc hosed her.....and she still doesn't really know jack about the basics. I hope her surgeon has a date with karma very soon.
  18. Well, but....you could say that about almost everything, no? The "sleeve" is a pretty new procedure (the modern incarnation of the sleeve), but eventually somebody somewhere at some time will get sleeved and die. That's just the statistics of any surgery. Now I'm not belittling the sleeve, because you've kicked ass with it, and Mac seems very happy with hers.....nor am I asserting that the band is superior to (fill in the blank). I think we need to be careful when throwing the annecdotal horror stories around, because they are statistically pretty rare. That is sad. I wonder if she was having any symptoms at all, other than wanting the band removed "because she wasn't losing weight". I'd like to think that should something go south with my band, there would at least be some indication, no matter how small, that something wasn't right.
  19. I thought the formula was 0.6 to 0.8 per kilogram (of ideal body weight). So that 200 lb guy should shoot for 55 - 73 grams of protein / day. Am I wrong?
  20. Hi Nicole. Welcome to the boards. Sorry about the plateau, but you're correct.....we all get 'em at some point. You'll be back on track before ya know it. Good luck!
  21. Nancy, this sounds incredibly bitter and judgemental. "Never think about food"?!? Did you even read Jack's reply? To say that those "that seem to do well on the band act like they never think about food" is to disrespect the effort that those folks are making daily.
  22. Sweet, it sounds to me like you are too tight. If you find yourself making poor food choices because "real" food is difficult to swallow.....that's the hallmark of being overfilled. Also, are the members of your support group actually banded? Because what you've described sounds like a straight up PB. This happens to me if I'm overfilled, or if I eat too much or eat too fast. It this were happening to me, I'd get a slight unfill and see if you can tolerate healthier foods. That's really how the band is meant to work. If you keep getting unfills but still cannot tolerate real foods, it could be a sign that something is going on with your band. It sounds like your doc is kinda blowing you off, so tell him in detail what's going on, and ask for possible reasons / solutions.
  23. Well....I'm going with the computer story.
  24. Well I do have my scrub top unbuttoned to my navel......all the better to show my thick thick chest hair w/ gold medallion....heehee Update - I just tried to log onto chat and it wouldn't let me. WTF?? I think my computer is schizophrenic....
