Soon to be a "BANDit"
Hello? Pot calling the kettle black much? LOL....J/K Fenton. Your numbers still rock! Nemesis, it's very common for patients (men and women both) to say very embarrasing things on the versed. I used to work a position where I assisted with a lot of bronchoscopies, so I have heard just about everything....I can pretty much assure you the nurse just laughed it off and added another funny story to her list. No big deal, man.

I am new here
Well, glad to have you, Candi. Welcome! Just out of curiousity, If you want GBS, then why don't you insist on getting that? Don't get me wrong.....I love my band (and personally feel it's the safest procedure on the market)....but I wonder if the above-mentioned people have some financial stake in ignoring what you want and referring you to something else? Either way have a look around. There's a lot of information to be found here.

SO NOW I am anorexic?? I hate people...
Yeah, "crack whore" is pretty harsh. I would've said something like "Wow, great compliment. You should visit the pediatric cancer wards, because of your awesome talent for making people feel better about themselves"....then just looked them in the eye until the moment became very uncomfortable. But that's just me. I'm kinda weird.

Anyone else noticed?
I understand what you're saying, Harkingluv, but this thread is "Rants and Raves Off Topic DEBATE AREA. A debate takes two (or more) sides. Many of the people that come off as unhelpful in this section are extremely supportive to newbies (and oldbies) in the main forums. It's kinda like complaining about the lack of national news on The Jerry Springer Show.......there's room for both, but they're on totally different stations.

So what are you, Conservative or Liberal ?
I'm mostly a moderate conservative. BTW, Jack....."curmudgeon"?!? My wife thinks I'm the only one to ever use that word (along with "acquiesce", and "churlish")

Wake up extremely tired whenever I dream-
Hey Jas. I'm a registered sleep therapist, and I think I can answer your question from a scientific point of view. Basically, the only time we remember a dream is if we wake up to full consciousness during one. So, when people in my sleep lab tell me "I dream all the time", or "I remember all my dreams", that just suggests to me that they're waking up much more than they should. Pix, I don't want to get real technical, or even be the arsehole that has to "correct" every little detail, but....REM is REM (no light or deep). There are currently no medications on the market that will make you get more REM (although many of the SSRI anti-depressants can suppress REM). REM is actually the most fragile stage of sleep we have.....it's insanely easy to get bumped out of REM. The deepest stage of sleep is now termed "N4". Oh, and 1 last trivial tidbit....we now know that dreaming is possible in any stage of sleep (REM dreams tend to be the most vivid and follow a "theme", or "plot", even if the theme / plot makes little sense). Ok, schools out. I think my inner geek is showing!! And just when everybody on LBT thought I was one of the cool kids!!

People are just MISERABLE.
I like the movies too, but that's taking it a bit far.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
That's cool. What do you have now?

Signifigant Other's Insecurities, is it OUR job to stop them?
It is a bit weird...but head matters and heart matters rarely match. I was thinking a bit more broadly, in that being a spouse is a lifelong commitment to reassurance: I still think you're sexy. Your new hairdo looks great. You're too good for that job. There's not a prowler outside. Everything will be ok. I love you. I constantly have made / continue to make these reassurances. Instead of thinking "I already told you once.....if I have to tell you again, that's your problem", I know that by reassuring, I have the ability and the chance to give my wife a little comfort. Having said that, I realize that there is a gradient here. BBK has not posted anymore info, so I don't know if this is an insecure husband, or a case of full-blown psycho jealousy.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Awesome. I have 5, and am comsidering a "half sleeve" when I get closer to goal and I can evaluate if I have loose skin. It's not loose right now, so I'm pretty optimistic. My wife thinks a huuuuge arm tattoo would be hot.

Are We ready for a Black President?
Child rape = death penalty. I have no problem with that. But I am from Texas, after all.

Cool way to spin?!?
except for the whole "hive mind" thing.

Vomiting
Not normal. Sip slooooooooooooooowly. Take the anti-nausea meds. Go easy, and let your band heal in.

Six (a rant)
Tighter controls as to who could actually perform the surgery would help a great deal with standardization of care. Of course, that would cut down on the money being made by everybody......so much for that idea.

Signifigant Other's Insecurities, is it OUR job to stop them?
Yup. That is our job, as spouses....to reassure, even if the fear is far-fetched and unlikely. How long should you calmly assure your husband of your fidelity? I don't know...how long would he do it for you?

Are We ready for a Black President?
This is, unfortunately, all too true. The 2 party system is slowly eroding the public confidence in politics. If the government would match campaign funds to all viable candidates, Americans would have more choice, and thus a louder voice, IMO.

Slimming?
Sliming happens when you get something "stuck". As a natural defense, your body goes into overdrive producing large amounts of saliva (to help wash the obstruction down).

Still don't know if I'm full or what
Excellant question, shy! Most of us bandsters kinda have a malfunction in that part of our brains that tells us when we are "full". Most of us pre-band confused "full" with stuffed". Now that you are banded, it's important to practice eating until you are "not hungry". Notice I didn't say "full". You are in a good situation to "re-train" your brain into knowing the difference between not hungry and stuffed. BTW, some people have restriction without any fills. It's kinda different for everybody. Good Luck!
