  1. Froggi, you're starting to make me more than a little nervous! *slowly starts backing towards door*
  2. Um, keep who in the white house? Can you name a single person that will not leave with Bush? Or is this more mindless party-speak? Because I have to tell you....anybody with half a brain knows these issues are a little more complicated that you're trying to paint them.....Oooooh, We put Hussein in power, and then overthrew him!! OMG!! Bush must be the devil to do that!! Except that JFK did the exact same thing with the "Bay of Pigs" fiasco (some would say Bay of Pigs was worse, since he aborted US support at the last minute, leading to the slaughter of thousands of revoultionaries). Ok, Swiftboaters.....I think if you'll look back at McCain's condemnation of the swiftboaters, it centered on the fact that they (rightly or wrongly) were insulting a serviceman's record. In other words, what Obama's camp did to McCain. Has McCain ever said he supports overturning Roe v. Wade? Even now, when he needs to appeal to the more conservative of the party? Nope. He's never said that. I'd prefer it if you stuck to some facts, BJean, instead of regurgitating some liberal talking points. I wonder how you'll feel when Obama moves more towards the center as the campaign approaches? Will you continue to support the man, or will you dismiss him as Obama-zero (as the Huffington post just did)?
  3. RR always struck me as a little masculine. Not that I care either way (or that it's any of my bees-wax), but I always thought she was gay....I was a little surprised when she got married.
  4. Schweaty weiners are the best.....now Chef's salty chocolate balls, that's another story. Just for the record, did that statement make anybody think less of me? LOL
  5. RSG, it sounds to me like she is hyper-critical of herself. Just because she finds fault with something on herself doesn't mean she sees the same thing on you....I am way more demanding and critical of myself than any of my friends or family...maybe she's the same? I'm not bragging (well, maybe a little), but I've never had trouble getting girls. I've always been built big (muscle covered with chubby) and I'm certainly not handsome....but what I have always had is personality. I have dated several women where I've overheard "why is she dating him". I laughed it off, but it was hurtful a little bit. My point is, people like what they like. I don't think it's totally fair for you to ascribe motive as to why your friend likes big guys. Maybe she likes what she likes. Until she does something ugly, I'd give my friend the benefit of the doubt.
  6. Hey, not too shabby...I wrote go-jiro (pretty close to go-zee-ra). The error could totally be one of recollection, since it's been, like, 15 years since I've heard any of those knuckleheads pronounce it. I always thought those guys were just pulling my leg with the motto, but maybe they were closer than I thought...
  7. Hey Green, just curious....Do you think race relations in Canada are better than in the US?
  8. After reading that partial thread, I'm thinking "pepto-enema".
  9. Bree, is my motto even close?
  10. My wife's grandmother (My granny-in-law?) once told me that they used to trap and eat "blackbirds" (crow). Ewwwww!! 'Course, she is a bit addled, so I can't vouch for how true her statement was.
  11. Huh? Saywhatnow?
  12. "Before you go to the fish store, try the pepto". WTF?!? The fish store?!? I don't even want to know...
  13. As a young college student, I got into Aikido. The Aikido club had a motto that was something like (spelled phonetically, of course): "Goon tie wah, Gojiro - 0 toe no ray something, something" It was supposed to mean "The Japanese army couldn't beat Godzilla".
  14. Heh. Very plainly spoken watcher. Kudos to you.
  15. Ya know, Glouc, I think I can already see the thin person inside you emerging! Just give the saboteurs "the mental finger" and proceed with your success.

Men, stay the hell out of this forum! *adjusts wig, smooths goatee* Just us girls!
  17. It's kind of a cliche, and you'll hear it approximately a million times, but be patient. You probably won't have restriction for awhile. Nemesis, your focus should be on healing your stomach sutures, not "losing weight", per se. That's why the diet is small and mostly liquids (so your stomach can heal, and not be distracted by having to digest things). If you're getting light headed and really hungry, eat a small snack (doc approved, of course). I have to echo what Mike said.....the higher protein shakes kept my appetite at bay better, until I was healed enough to start the fill process. Staying busy helps with the hunger pangs. next time you get hungry, try walking for 10 mins or so. If still hungry, eat a small healthy snack (say, 1/2 of a mushed up banana....or a protein shake). The other advice I have is to cut back on the apple juice and go full tilt with the water.

For some reason, I'm having trouble posting my MySpace site...but the link in my signature works. I'm public, so feel free to snoop around as long as you like!
  19. Um, not that this is related to the topic in any way, but Jacqui, whenever I see the subtitle under your username, I have to giggle a bit. "Banded down under" sounds vaguely dirty to me, LOL. My grandmother is from Australia, lest I be accused of bias against the aussies...
  20. Everything sounds like night terrors, except for the school incident (and even that, maybe.....night terror folks are usually extremely difficult to wake up during / after an incident...but it can happen). Only a sleep study / series of studies could differentiate between night terrors vs. REM behavior disorder. You are correct that N4 disorders are much more rare in adults (pretty common in kids. Out of all children that sleepwalk, only 30% will continue by the time they're teenagers. Then only another 30% will continue into adulthood). But if you're trying to make me look even geekier in front of my LBT buds...mission successful! Shhhhhh.....don't bring up my extreme myopia or comic book collection, K?
  21. Depends. Night terrors, per se, basically come out of that "N4" stage of sleep (the very deepest stage) I mentioned before......same with sleepwalking. Strictly speaking, those behaviours aren't usually even treated, unless events are very frequent, or behaviours get dangerous (ie, sleepwalking into high traffic areas, getting in and starting up the car, etc.) The trick is to determine whether it's really Night terrors she's having. Does she ever remember anything of them later on?
  22. Froggi, I am not surprised, LOL
  23. I just realized that I wear scrubs more than I wear regular clothes. Just to post. By the way, I'm thinking about working this in as my "tagline" in real life. Example: Boss: "Trey, did you get those studies faxed" Me: "I'm sleepy and I'm eating cheese. Just to post." Wonder how many WTF looks I'd get?
  24. Cracking me up, Pix. Hopes he gets here quick.
