  1. Why thanks RSG.
  2. BJean, I wasn't popping off. You can't possibly know that "McCain's intellect is lacking" or "Obama is brilliant" or "Obama has an awesome value system" unless you personally know them. You might suspect these things, or they might be your opinion, but you cannot factually know these things. I suspect you also "know" that voting for McCain will be like voting for Bush's 3rd term too.......right? Hey I got a new one for ya: "Don't vote for McCain - He's old!!" and the republicans are the ones that won't debate the issues? Sheesh.
  3. Jack, Obama's movement from the left towards the middle was totally expected. On one of these forums, I even asked BJean how she would feel when it inevitably happened. The majority of the American public don't want what the uber-liberals want. Ergo, to be elected, a liberal candidate must move to the middle. This was fated to happen ever since Obama clinched the nomination.
  4. Well I'm glad that's cleared up! I wouldn't want to be a premature birthday wisher!!
  5. Over 100 lbs? Wow......I was used to just skimming an eyeball over your graphic thingie at the bottom of your page and saw the -1 lb. On closer inspection of your / numbers / I see the loss. Observant dude, I am...... Anyway, The pic is still great, M' Kay?
  6. Dammit!! I knew it! And they call me paranoid* *possibly because I had my name legally changed to "Paranoid Jackson"
  7. I'm officially back. I kinda missed you guys (uh, gals.....ladies.....strong independant women......gulp....)! I put a handful of pics up on the "photos" section.
  8. I'd tell them the "good food" fairy often flies with the "normal bowel movement" fairy.
  9. Ok, thread hijack, sorry........but Band-Aid!! New Avatar pic? You look great! Love the new pic!
  10. How do you know this?
  11. posting just to say "I'm back". Were there any especially cool things I missed? Or (as I suspect) did y'all use my time away to discuss the really good stuff?
  12. Images added to a gallery album owned by plain in Member Photo Gallery
We spent a week in Seacrest Beach, Fl. It was awesome! I didnt lose any weight, but I didn't gain any, either (a minor miracle).
  13. Too easy.....no comment....
  14. Well, different strokes for different folks....but if you have a desk job, you'll probably be ok in 3-4 days. The most sore I ever got (and I wouldn't really call it "pain"...more "discomfort") was the day after surgery and the 2nd day out. By days 3 and 4, I felt about 90% back to normal.
  15. And just so nobody here will be too lonely, I'm appointing "SickNTired" to be my stand in for a couple of weeks. Her official duties will be to be a smartass, be the voice of political reason (that means be a moderate conservative, Sick.....none of this liberal BS), to make unwanted sexual innuendos, and to just be creepy in general..... I shall return! Hopefully when I do it will be more tanned and less fat!
  16. No way, BJean....or should I say Lizzie Bordon......LOL Just kidding. Chance of a recurring event depends greatly on what they think caused the ischemia in the first place: Was it arterial plaque that clogged the blood vessels? Were the intestines physically "twisted" to choke off O2 to part? There are a lot of weird random things that could possibly cause gangrenous bowel / colon.....or sometimes it is just genetic. Bottom line is, I don't have a very good answer to your question, but I thought you deserved a reply. And if I can inject a little humor, it's not to make light of your situation (which I know firsthand can be very grave), but to maybe put a smile on your face......even if I have to degrade myself by making very bad puns. So, I'm not a doctor (unless you count my honorary "Doctor of Sexiness" degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences), so you'd be much much better served getting the opinion of the dude that has seen your insides!! Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.
  17. You are a smelly pirate hooker.
  18. A pound per week is pretty good loss. Right now you probably don't have much restriction (my doc says the average number of fills to get good restriction is around 3...but everybody is different), so you'll have to be careful what you're taking in. Eat only until you're not hungry (as opposed to "full") and eat healthy foods (no junk!!). Eventually you will get to where you have good restriction, but until you get there, use common sense, exercise, and try to be patient (I know that's hard). Good luck!
  19. I hate that mindless political dribble (the kind that comes without references so you can validate....or worse, the kind that deliberately distorts quotes, takes things out of context, etc), whether from the right or the left. BTW sick, even if you are a liberal, I forgive you.
  20. Holy Schmoley!! Are you allright?!? During my ICU stint most of my patients that had gangrenous colon (started off as ischemic) didn't live very long. That can get very bad very quickly.
  21. I killed a man. Great Odin's beard!!
  22. I thought you had to have a DNR to be admitted to hospice (of course, I thought 3 months was about the hospice limit, so...).
  23. Heehee....you certainly have been in the powder room!!
  24. People vary waaaaaaay too much to even be able to approximate this answer....It'd kinda be like asking "how much weight do people lose with lapband" (responses from very little to a ton). There are very thin people that are maxed out on BP medicine. On his "interest"....the way most BP meds work is by dilating all the blood vessels in the body (even the penis). Bottom line, erections can be very difficult to get or maintain on certain BP meds. Good news is, they make pills for that sort of thing :scared2:
