IT is also possible he is using your interaction as a bragging point to whomever is listening. Doesn't matter the age, the male ego is a silly thing and he may be using these obviously mundane conversations as examples of the attention he brags about to the men in his group.
Or it could just be that he isn't very good at dealing with the opposite sex.

Drives me crazy when I see the word LOOSE when it should be LOSE, as in... We "lose" weight. C'mon people, you're smarter than that.

It will go away. We all have suffered through the “buyers remorse” phase. Give it another day or two. It’ll settle down. 😊

PaulaB72 reacted to krissy95 in "Your taking the easy way out"
So I decided to drop a friend who literally told me I was "taking the easy way out" if I got this surgery and all the months leading up to it would say I was "pathetic" and "lazy" just threw a slew of disgusting insults my way which made me feel shitty
    Little back story:
I'm 22 and struggled with my weight my whole life (due to PCOS and other medical things) from 13-19 years old I suffered anorexia and got down to 80 something pounds (I was literally on my death bed)so right when I graduated high school for an entire year after I was inpatient in the hospital and recovering from the anorexia when I got out I guess I just couldn't stop gaining weight? (PCOS, hereditary etc)It started triggering me a lot and I would try everything to lose weight! I'm a vegetarian I work with dogs running around all day with them constantly moving very active job so you can imagine my frustration so I decided to go this route and I'm 3 weeks out and 25 pounds down and I'm doing very well this is kinda going all over the place lol sorry to whoever reads this

Anywhoooo my "friend" would just put me down constantly and they knew me during my anorexic days they knew me during the recovery days they saw how much I struggled with weight gain and loss and still had the audacity to say if I went through with this procedure I was taking the "easy way out" and they'd "never be able to look at me the same" so a couple days before my surgery I dropped them and I gotta say I don't miss them at all if anything this surgery is HARDER than doing it on your own it's a fucking surgery for fucks sake #1 and #2 there is no going back you gotta learn new ways to eat you gotta take Vitamins and minerals you gotta make sure you get a certain amount of Protein everyday this is by no means "easy" and it still fuckin annoys me that people have the audacity to say some dumb shit like that

Sorry this went like all over the place I'm just annoyed at the moment and I had to vent about it

almost All surgeries are elective if they are planned in advance: c-sections, joint replacements, heart surgeries etc. so your supervisors don’t have a leg to stand on. File FMLA and let HR handle it. You don’t have to tell your supervisors the extent of your surgery ever

    Venting*** sorry
So i'm in several other online support groups right. And i've started volunteering at my local surgery center support group too.
But lately in 2 of my other online support groups i've been seeing a ton of negativity and body shaming smaller sleevers/ by passers. It's so rude to me.
I just feel so bad for anyone that has to go through that. Someone recently posted something about people being in the 200's not needing wls, and that they should not post their before and afters.
First off, aren't we all having the same struggle? Both physically and mentally.
Secondly, nobody really knows another person's reasoning behind their decision. If your insurance is paying for it, it is because they are obese and possibly have other co morbidies. So i'm all for any and anyone feeling like they need to make a change to keep the weight off and get healthier.
I just think some people should attempt to be a bit more open minded or just not say anything. This post i'm referring to literally started a cyber war, which is so crazy to me. Nobody would ever judge someone for being much larger and deciding to go down the wls route...just saying.
I think everyone should feel welcomed and supported.

We've been around since 2003. I've seen many members and groups come and go. Most are very supportive and I'm glad we've been a part of their WLS journey. There are always a few bad apples that try to ruin things for everyone. We banned a group of members a few months ago and I have to say the site has definitely become more supportive and taken on a friendlier tone.
Please report any topic you suspect has been created by someone that's just trying to bait our members. We will investigate and take immediate action if warranted.

@Waler Yeah I try to explain it that way to them and for some reason it still always leads to an argument and more questions that just end up hurting my head. I feel like half the hard work is just dealing with the haters haha.

Seriously though, any time you venture into the subject of WLS surgery and someone asks you why? I just get annoyed by it at this point. So I tell them I'm morbidly obese which leads to the "why don't you go to the gym, why don't you try this new diet, why would you want to do something so crazy when there are better ways to lose weight it just takes hard work?" Then I tell them about all the fad diet programs I've tried, that I go to the gym 4 times a week 1.5 hour each time alternation on strength training and cardio, which leads to more Why questions. Honestly I'm really tired of the why question, I'm all for educating the people around me but 9/10 times there questioning not because they care or want to know but because they think I'm taking the "easy way out", and that really irritates me.
So is anyone else out there sick and tired of explaining themselves?

PaulaB72 reacted to Alex Brecher in DO AS YOU'RE TOLD BY YOUR SURGICAL TEAM!
@@jintycb, Of course I think it’s really important to do as you’re told by your surgical team! I also think that before that, you should make sure you trust your surgical team. Find a team you trust, so that you are willing to do whatever they tell you. If they tell you something you don’t agree with, ask why they want you to do it. Usually they have a good reason.
But I also think it is legit to ask around online to see what other patients have been told. You can learn a lot and even come up with some new questions to ask your surgical team.

Thank you all for your thoughtful and supportive replies.... you are a wondeful bunch of people who i have come to rely on for support through this process.
I appreciate the time you have taken to reply and guide me with your wisdom, and for that i am so grateful
I have decided that i am going to annoy them even more by being a success.... i will be the best version of myself that i can be.
I will not allow anyone (including family) rain on my parade... I've got this....
Life is too short and precious to spend it worrying what other people think, i will be the best i can be, be kind, be empathetic and a good person....
People will always find something to complain or comment about.... i will from now... be graceful and try my best not to allow these people to affect my self esteem.
And to the meanies in the world, they can kiss my (now shrinking) behind!! Hahhaa

Thanks everyone for your support... that family member is usually a jerk.. so i don't have high expectations from them... but secretly it has actually cut me deep...
But i guess i need to remind myself that its their ignorance that they expect me to go from obese to healthy in a couple of weeks.
What makes me so sensitive to it is that i really did try after i had my band not to regain, and this surgery was a last resort.. so to have someone mock that, hurt that little bit extra... grrrr
Perhaps i should have shoved the sunday family roast lamb in their mouth to shut them up! Hahaha
