  1. I am sure with your dedication that the transformation will be effective! I am looking forward to seeing your progress.
  2. some people with the sleeve experience dumping, but most do not. many experience foods that no longer sit well in their stomach, but many do not. I am one who has been able to eat anything I cared to - without problems for the most part. some would say that is an advantage, some would say it is not - but I am very happy with my outcome.
  3. the staples in your actual stomach stay so no bother there. and the others I had dissoluble stitches under neath glue. this should be a pretty easy appointment for you.
  4. if you don't have any complications, and if you have a desk job you may be ready to go back after that first week. but have a plan in place just in case. you know the saying - plan for the worst, hope for the best? I took 4 weeks of FMLA with the understanding that if everything went well I would go back to work after my one week appointment. I ended up taking until my one month check up of shorter days, just to make it easier to adapt to the new diet and changes.
  5. and look at the tail on that seatbelt! you've got plenty of room!
  6. did you have a one week check up with your doctor? most plans would have you on Protein shakes by now, and yes I did have twinges of pain with almost everything I ate or drank in the beginning - but I knew I needed to nourish my body anyway. please check in with your doctor and let us know what they advise. Furthermore, tell them you are not taking all of your medications and see what they tell you. by that point I was able to take all of my regular medications.
  7. off diabetes medication. on 1/4 of blood pressure meds. I can cross my legs. I have energy to participate in my life again. I can wear rings that have sat in my jewelry case for years. simply put, there is no aspect of my life that has not been improved since surgery. I had no complications aside from some constipation (which I firmly believe is due to coming off Metformin) and I can eat anything - but I prefer the foods on my food plan. no trouble at all getting liquids and Protein in. I have lost 40% of my excess weight. weight loss is slow and steady.
  8. I had all kinds of minor little weird pains. do you have a one week post op appointment to go to where they might address this concern? let us know how you are doing.
  9. I like the unjury chocolate splendor made with fairlife milk. I like it with espresso powder added, or PB powder added or half a banana. I also like the unjury vanilla with coffee added - or with half a peach or some frozen cherries added. and I used the unjury unflavored in things like no sugar applesauce to give a Protein boost in the early days.
  10. that's very helpful. when I went to my initial seminar we sat down with the insurance/referral person who already had our policy looked up and told us what our copay and everything would be. what the requirements for approval were. it was very helpful to me as far as planning my surgery.
  11. this is going to vary from person to person - and depending on if you have a hernia repair or other work at the same time. For me my initial swelling and sore throat resolved in a few days - and I went back to work after a week (and weekend) off - so about 10 days. the first month I took short days so I could get a handle on my eating and drinking and walking - and have a nap if I needed to.
  12. I am so sorry that old demons are raising their ugly heads again. Please get some help. and please let us know how you are doing.
  13. How long has it been since your surgery? Did you continue to lose much longer? Sent from my LGMS428 using the BariatricPal App 4 months and yes, I continue to loose weight.
  14. welcome to the club! I am looking forward to seeing your progress!
  15. no rushing, @@Dub too easy to hurt yourself that way!
  16. I know how it feels - but cutting back that low, depending on what your caloric needs are could actually cause you to stall out more. So please, do the tracking thing for exercise and food and make sure your calorie deficit is appropriate.
  17. oh ya. my pattern has been to loose 3-5 pounds and then go up 1 or 2 pounds and then down again. but the overall trend from month to month is downward. it is a lot easier for me to be patient with it once I got below 200 before that I thought, well there you go, I'm the exception. I do think slow and steady is the way to loose. when I get concerned I track my food a few days to make sure my diet is spot on, and if it is I just trust my body to do what it is supposed to do.
  18. yes please do so. proper form makes all the difference in the work out - helps avoid injury and makes it effective to the place on the body you are trying to work. years ago I did go to the gym and lift weights and thankfully my husband was able to come with me and help me learn the proper way. While I mostly prefer other work outs now - it was invaluable at the time. if you are not able to go with her, then please take pictures and why not share them with us as well?!?!? All the posts about it make me kinda wanna get back in the gym so I take it as greatly encouraging. I have another friend, who lives in my town, and he used to post his running on facebook. he felt a little silly about it, but you know what? it got me off the couch and walking. I told him so and then others piped in to agree. you never know what is going to make a difference for someone else.
  19. I use map my walk to enter my food and exercise in, a lot of people use my fitness pal. I also have a food scale and even cooking at home you can measure portions and figure out if you are meeting Protein goals and keeping carbs down. I try to keep my carbs down below 60 most days (90% of the time) and always below 100. by entering your weight/height and such information it will come up with your base amount of calories. then when you plug in the food you're eating you will know if what your calorie deficit is. but yes, eating salty foods could be just causing you to retain Water, as does certain times of the month.
  20. Vitamin Water zero lemonade or the strawberry lemonade on ice. sometimes a sugar free Popsicle.
  21. I was a bundle of nerves and didn't sleep much the night before surgery. I am a stress cleaner though, so the bathroom was nice and tidy for my return home. Wishing you all the best and I look forward to hearing from y'all when you're on the other side of it.
  22. my eyes but since WLS I would have to say the whole package. EVERYTHING is easier. my body feels better, it moves better and according to the people I love, even looks better. I'm quite happy to have a waist and a neck again.
  23. I am sorry @@lindaregan but I do not use the app you use, hopefully someone will come along who does.
  24. you're making great progress! thank's for sharing with us!
