  1. Happy Birthday to one of the Strongest Pre-Bandsters I know!!! Have a great day girl!!
  2. Oh my gosh! I just love Atkins. I have been sticking with it and the weight is dropping off again. I have to be strick on myself or I won't lose and the carbs put weight on me like crazy! If you think about it, Atkins is like the bandsters diet... Protein, veggies, fruit... and then carbs, but I don't think refined sugar is good for anyone. I did Weight Watchers for a month and actually gained, but I know some people that have lost a great deal and maintained on that diet. I personally know that Atkins is for me. Good luck!
  3. Welcome Steven!!! Dr. Spivak is a great Dr. He did my band on November 9, 2005. To date, I have lost 40 pounds! Congratulations!!!
  4. What size do you need??? I have a bridesmaid dress that I never got to wear and it is just gorgeous. I could mail it to you and you can see if you like it? It is a halter dress... I will find a picture online ... It was from David's Bridal, and I wanted to wear it so bad!!!
  5. I don't know what you other ladies think... but SuperDaddy is HOT!!!
  6. I don't think we were there for more than 4 hours start to finish... I was at home and in bed by 1:00! I stayed in bed for the rest of the evening.
  7. Great Points PhotoNut!!! I have definitely been putting my promise to work... at being a better person.
  8. Lisa~ I have a picture I would love to post... hehehe.. but I don't think everyone wants to see an X-rated pic of me! Hubby and I discovered a great NSV last night and took a picture!!! You Rock! I can't wait to ride a bull!
  9. Diva! You are so BEAUTIFUL!!!
  10. Now Diva said everything I wanted to, but in better way! Thanks Diva!
  11. DrewsLou~ I know what you are talking about when you said you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror! When I walk into the mall and catch a glimpse I just about kill over. I see a fat girl and then I realize it is me! Forgot about that feeling!!! Thanks for reminding me :cake:
  12. Trish~ You sound like you are perfectly comfortable with yourself and you like the way you dress and look!!! That is just awesome! I wish I had half of your confidence and self esteem!
  13. Do you mean Dr. Spivak? If so, I used the Physician's Surgery Center. I really liked everyone there! IT was very nice.
  14. No anca, I was not referring to anyone in particular :cake:
  15. To those who were "bothered" by my make up comment... I guess I should have been more specific... It does bother me when women do not take care of themselves... period. We were talking about large women so I made that comment. There are some woman who are beautiful without any makeup at all... (Vinesqueen, you said you didn't wear much and obviously you don't need to. You look very beautiful in your avator) BUT, my point is I have met so many women who have commented on how I always have nice clothes and my make up looks nice and they bitch because they don't look that way... It is not hard or expensive for any woman of any shape or size to take care of themselves. I beam with pride with I see a large woman dressed nicely with her hair fixed nicely and her make up (if any needed) looks nice... HELLO!!! We are fat!!! We are drawing attention to ourselves by being this overweight, why not look half assed decent??? Once again... if this comment bothered you, maybe you long to wear makeup? I don't know. If you are comfortable with the way you look then you shouldn't think twice about my OPINION. Just my opinion on the way I feel about things since this is what the thread was about... hating or being disgusted with fat people. I didn't want to hurt or step on any toes, I hope that I better explained myself. Yes, slobs that don't take care of themselves disgust me... any shape size, color, age, whatever.
  16. I don't even think I can type everything I want to say after reading all 7 pages of posts... This thread has made me realize what a horrible person I am and how horrible my friends are!!! I have ALWAYS been fat, never have I been normal... but I always judge people by their looks. I know that it is because of my own insecurities, but I just hate it! Like, when I see a skinny girl, with a great body... I say" Yeah, she might be skinny, but she is UGLY, and I am fat a prettier than her". That is just horrible. I get embarassed to go anywhere with my aunt who I am sure is close to 600lbs and I always trash talk her to others because she doesn't do anything about it. I get embarassed when I got out in public with my 400lb sister, and that is just wrong. I wonder how many people have been embarassed by me! At my fattest I was 365 pounds!!! That is so unreal for me to say... and I still thought I was better than everyone. How did I get this mentality? Where did this come from? I do not HATE fat people, but it grosses me out when I see a fat person who doesn't dress as good as they could or doesn't wear make-up! It drives me nuts! I am going to work on becoming a better person starting right now!!!
  17. What a difference, you go girl!!! You look awesome!!!
  18. HELL YEAH!!! That is an awesome picture girl!!! That is definitely going on my list of TO DO's!!!

Hi Tracy~ Dr. Spivak was my Dr. A couple of questions for you... How much weight do you need to lose? If you are only 200 lbs and considering WLS I am assuming you are vertically challenged (no offense) If you only have 60 pounds to lose it may come off a lot slower than someone that has 200 lbs to lose. You have to stick with a certain way of eating if you want to lose the weight. Like Dr. Spivak says... 50% of it comes off with the band alone and the other 50% is up to you! I have lost about 35lbs in 2 months... but I haven't been working out until here recently, and the past month I haven't been eating right... so I have not lost what I should. If you have any other questions, just let us know!!!
  20. I may have missed it somewhere... but why can't you have another fill? Did your Dr. give you a reason, like will you not be able to eat and drink only Water? NewSho~I am pretty sure the band will help you maintain what you have lost so far. I can tell by your posts that you are very frustrated, so let it all out (like you are) that will be your best therapy. Figure out exactly what YOU want and get your butt to work accomplishing it! Anyone can do something if they put their mind to it. Please don't give up! If you want a BMI of 25, you might have to work your ass off to get there, but if that is what YOU want, then do it.
  21. Hi, maggiek I think that the Dr. usually decides what band to place in you? I know someone will correct me if I am wrong ???? Good Luck!!!
  22. Yes RNY is the Gastric Bypass. My guessing as to why the insurance companies choose it is just because Dr.'s have been doing it in the US longer???? Just my guess???
  23. Welcome! That is a GREAT weightloss so far!
  24. Way to go! You do look just awesome! I think you look perfect with all the right curves... You are doing a great job girl!
