  1. My hair loss has slowed as well. I went shorter, then shorter again. While I feel naked without my long hair, I keep telling myself it looks "sassy"! I am seeing some new growth at the hairline, so I have hope that I will have decent hair again. I have tried several conditioners to help with the dryness. Nothing really makes a difference. Let us know if you find one that works.
  2. I had it years ago and was miserable. I went to an podiatrist who wrapped it. I was told not to set that foot on the floor without the gauze wrap in place. I was also fitted for a custom orthotic. It was around this time that I discovered Birkenstocks, not terribly fashionable, but I could walk in them without pain.
  3. Lane Bryant probably won't be conservative enough for you. Catherine's, their sister-store is where I bought my suits when I was in banking. Now, I just buy blazers and pants separately and avoid unlined blazers. Penny's is also very good. I have purchased dresses at Macy's and was pleased with the quality for the price.
  4. Not that I have noticed. That didn't occur to me.
  5. I have gotten this since I was in my 30s, usually just on my forearms. I use a benedryl gel. Once I get a light tan, it subsides for the year. It took a while before I connected it to sun exposure. The itching is awful.
  6. I weigh myself daily, in the morning, totally naked, after I pee, and if I don't like that number, I weigh myself on the other scale, which is always 4 lbs lighter. Its silly, I know, but keeps me from getting discouraged.
  7. 15 more lbs by the end of April.
  8. I thought this thread was "diarrhea after Sex".... not sure which is worse.
  9. My husband (now ex-husband) was my best friend as well, since we were 14 yrs old. We were married for 25 years and had 5 great kids. It took me a long time, post divorce to realize he has serious character flaws. Listening to your story, I was reminded of myself, over 10 years ago. His perceived flaws in you and his need to inform you of them, are just a way of justifying his actions to himself. Put that right out of your head. My ex couldn't understand why I would have a problem with him bringing a date to our son's wedding when we weren't even legally separated. Evidently, I am a crazy, selfish b****. Everything was suddenly about him. My advice to you is to RUN.....like the wind, and don't look back. (And as you venture into the dating world, be wary of men with his personality traits. You don't want to be in this situation again in 10 years.)
  10. cheese is my friend. It is my go-to snack....asiago, sharp cheddar, fresh mozzarella. I haven't met very many that I don't like... (except recently, a blueberry goat cheese that tasted like feet).
  11. Same here, although it does seem to be getting better. The hot stuff leaves me feeling a bit queasy.
  12. I think men are talking to several women at once and when they begin to date one of them (or more than one), they vanish on the others. I have had dates where we both knew that it wasn't going to work and neither tried to contact the other afterwards. I have also vanished on guys before I have met them. However, I have never stood anyone up or even made plans to meet someone without genuine intentions. That is just rude.
  13. UPDATE: It didn't take him long to resurface. Apparently, all along he was living with someone else (separate bedrooms?....pffft). We talked for a couple hours friday night and I saw him on Saturday night and then had a latent epiphany. He is a liar. Done.
  14. @@4MRB4PHOTO I'd happily send you the grey persian that has been scratching up my loveseat!
  15. Online dating has been an adventure. I recently thought I had met someone truly compatible. After 2 months, he tells me (in a text, btw) that he thinks we should both move on. None of the reasons he gave made sense and I could tell he was holding something back. Finally, he typed the words "I have never been with a heavy woman." I was stunned as we had been intimate several times and he commented that it was the best ever in his life, etc. I have lost 15 lbs since we started dating and 82 lbs total. He knows about my surgery and that I am shrinking. While I know I will get over this, I feel defeated and frustrated.
  16. A 4lb increase, while scary, could just be Water retention. If I eat canned Soups, the prepackaged turkey breast, etc., I will have cankles by the next day and not be able to wear my rings.
  17. Google wide bike seats. I have seen them at Walmart, Dicks....Amazon probably has them too. Google wide bike seats. I have seen them at Walmart, Dicks....Amazon probably has them too. Google wide bike seats. I have seen them at Walmart, Dicks....Amazon probably has them too.
  18. I just had a guy I was dating tell me that my smell bothers him. I am stunned and horrified. I shower every day and use deodorant. I have never had anyone mention this before, so it has to be a post-surgery thing. Shame....I really liked this guy....
  19. I keep wondering why my sleeves are soooo long suddenly. Apparently I have lost in the shoulder area.
  20. I take cottage cheese, greek yogurt, low-fat cheese sticks, or leftovers from the previous night's dinner.
  21. I had very little pain post-op. I had it in my head that I would be eating pureed foods for a long, long time. I really never pureed anything. So, one of the two blenders I bought, went to my daughter. I kept the smaller one for Protein shakes, but rarely use it. It is easier to just use a shaker bottle. sugar-free popsicles...I still go through at least a box each week.
  22. Hey, I deleted that part from my profile!
  23. I was thinking the same thing!!! Then you meet them for coffee and the trainwreck shows up....
  24. Funny, I watched the movie for the umpteenth time last week and that line stood out for me. "Paulie: What's 'gaps'? Rocky: I dunno, she's got gaps, I got gaps, together we fill gaps. " I'm sure its because of where I am (or am not) in my dating/lovelife.
