  1. hehehe evil.... I like it lol
  2. <shrug> never gave it much thought really
  3. I know what you mean about the 6 month diet you have to do before insurance will look at paying for the surgery. I made sure to lose weight but near the end of my six months I also made sure not to lose to much. I feared if I did the insurance would say "Hey you can do it by yourself" If I could "do it by myself" and keep it off I wouldn't have looked into the band!
  4. Who knows? Sometimes the information you get and the information you read here don't jive. I was told after surgery I could eat anything I wanted and if I got stuck drink something <this information from my doctor> I read here that it wasn't a good idea to eat anything I wanted and HECK NO NEVER DRINK SOMETHING IF YOUR STUCK!!! I took the advise of the board and am very grateful I did. I love my doctor 100% but for information I love this board a whole lot more :wink2:
  5. I'm not 100% sure the size of my band. When I asked the doctor he rattled off some numbers and letters? I know I have 3 cc in right now. He said "most" women go up to about 5 cc < I am sure his patients > I am happy with my restriction just curious about the next one < when the time comes >
  6. <Shivers> OMG I should say you had one heck of a day!! I am so sorry to read about both families. Such sadness yes.
  7. OMG 120 pounds??? You go!!! That is something to be VERY proud of and obviously you have been doing something right! You don't have to put up with that negative attitude from ANYONE. Call the office and tell them you would like to make an appointment with anyone but ( Person's name here) Let it be known that her bed side manner leaves much to be desired! Why should you put off YOUR health and well being because you don't want to subject yourself to someone else's rudeness? ( someone that YOU pay btw) I bet if you speak up you will find you are not the only person who has been treated this way  Good-luck to you!
  8. I used to do "freebie boards" all the time! They can be a lot of fun. This sounds like something I would be interested in, well not a freebie board it does rekindle the "freebie bug" LOL

Try vinegar on the burn <you can even warm it in the microwave a wee> apply it with a soft wash cloth. You'll smell but feel OH SO MUCH BETTER! When your burn is over I'll give you my address and welcome you to repeat what your doing at your house

Well my first thoughts when I read about it this morning in the paper was "DAAAAAAANG" Oh to be plus size <hair flip> But I will make it to "plus size yet" dang dongit!
  11. Bless your heart it is time to move on and start a new *new beginning! I agree with the other, find a new surgeon! Good - luck to you !! Remember you deserve the best you can give yourself!
  12. I had my 3rd fill a week ago tomorrow and WOW what a HUGE difference this one made! I am able to eat solid food but very little and I stay full for long periods of time. I have lost six pounds since my fill but I know that will slow down ( I did liquids the first two days ) I don't think I am "to tight" because I am able to eat food and I keep it down and <knock on wood> I haven't had problems with being stuck soooooooo I think this may be "the Sweet Spot" I have heard so much about. My question is if this is THE sweet spot where do you go from here ? Meaning your next fill. My surgeon wanted to see me in four weeks but I opted to see where I stand before getting another fill. So if this is my "sweet spot" is the next fill sweeter? <laughing>
  13. I agree with hairband, over time you DO have a whole new out look and it's amazing the things you worry about now don't even enter you thought process. As for the diet after being banded...Lordie I didn't have to stick to any "diet" I was told I could eat anything. I did try to do mushy foods and what not. Good-Luck! It's hard now but so worth it!
  14. I have felt that way too after a fill. Pressure of sorts when drinking and then the need to burp etc.
  15. I was scared too and I look back now and think " of what"? You will do fine
  16. I am so very sorry to read
  17. WOW cb11213 I find your comment to be very rude and even uncalled for. I don't think the poster was asking to be criticized and bashed. If losing weight was so dang easy I don't guess this board would be here. I am very glad that you have done so well at your weight lose and I do hope it continues, but when you start walking on water maybe then what you have to say can be taken serious. ts505050 I am sorry I have not had the band but four months so I have no "long term" advise to give you. The fact that you want to move forward and make this band work for you is awesome! Do you have a local support group? Maybe the new surgeon will have some ideas of places you can look into. For the most part I have found this board to be helpful and supportive with great ideas. I don't post often but I read daily. I'm sorry you reached out for advise and help and got such an arrogant response right of the bat. Pfffft that one and keep moving forward!! Good-Luck to you!
  18. I can get fills every four weeks if I want to. I choose to play the wait and see game and get one when I feel the need. I understand being upset because you had your head all ready for this. Your doing GREAT! I won't tell you to "buck up" but rather refocus on what your goal is, not how fast you can get there!
  19. ***As far as "why"... it's obvious... your stomach needs to get used to the new size. Can't just go out and have lunch... it takes time.***I don't think it's so obvious if you don't know the answer.....That being said, I always chill the first day and go slow the next (after a fill) My doctor has never told me to NOT eat, he tells me to chew well and be aware
  20. YAY!!! Good-Luck
  21. Mine has moved some too over the past few months. I have had three fills so far and the doctor hasn't said anything sooooooo
  22. Telling or not telling really is a personal issue. I have read where some ppl tell no one and some tell everyone. Whatever you decide just remember this is NOT "The easy way out" and anyone who thinks that way really has no clue. Don't let anyone belittle your achievements by telling you other wise! Good-Luck with whatever you choose!!
  23. What an amazing post! It made so much sense! I read so much of me in that article. The negative hoopla fills your head and makes it hard to move forward. You beat yourself down and it's hard if not impossible at times to pull yourself back up. I forwarded your post to my husband, well he doesn't have the weight issue I thought it was a wonderful LIFE issue! Really great post! Thanks
  24. I am so sorry this happened to you. People don't think before they speak. When I got on the scale and learned I had lost 49.5 pounds I jumped for joy! When I told my husband he said it's not 50..your mini goal was 50....yeah.....
