  1. Howdy all! I hope this post finds everyone doing well! I was just checking in on all those who got the band so far this month! How are you feeling? Getting any better? When do you plan to go back to work? I had my band put on Jan. 16th and I think I feel the best today that I have so far . I am going back to work tomorrow but only half days the first two. Thought I would ween myself back into it. I go back and see my doctor on Thursday and I can't wait! I want him to give me the thumbs up on driving again!!! I hope ya'll have a wonderful day out there! Stay warm <brrrr> and will chat soon! Peace to you and yours ~Laurinda~
  2. I am feeling pretty good. I got home yesterday and just chilled around the house. I had to stay over night because I have sleep apnea but even that wasn't to bad. I am soooooo ready to move forward!! ~Laurinda~
  3. KCbigguy, You can do it and OMG YES!!! If your insurance will cover it let it! Bless your heart I know waiting is hard,I waited a long time too! But you know what they say about good things.... comes to those who wait  Have a GREAT one out there! ~Laurinda~
  4. Howdy ya'll,my name is Laurinda and I am from Florida. I am 40 years old <shivers> and I have been married for 18 years. I have two children, My son will be 18 this month <tears> and my daughter 15. I get my band Wed. and am excited and nervous.
  5. I agree with all ya'll. I told my husband I would just do the liquid, mushy etc. I know 6 months ago when I saw him for the first time he told me there were different stages but when I saw him last week and he said nope eat what ya want after one week, no stages, I was shocked!
  6. Glitter354 I have lots and lots of laundry if you need something to do :welldoneclap: Good-luck to you! ~Laurinda~
  7. My doctor told me I had to be on a clear liquid diet for a week after surgery then I could eat anything I wanted. No mushy stage, just regular food. He said I may gain weight during this period while waiting for a fill. I will get my first fill after 6 weeks. I sure as heck don't wanna gain weight and the thought of just eating solid food after a week kinda scares me. Have ya'll every heard of such a thing? Any thoughts? ~Laurinda~
  8. I would like my end weight to be 150lbs. I started out at 315 and I am now at 288. I get banded in 3 days! The total weight lose is to much for my brain to handle so I set up mini goals! After I lose my first 50 (banded) I am going to have my hair cut and colored,multi-highlighted like I used to do back in the day!! I am very excited about this because hubby wouldn't fuss about the cost at all!!! YAY me lol
  9. I'm sorry I am kinda new at this and posted the same post twice :welldoneclap: this is me trying to fix it (laughing)
  10. Why do ya'll have to lose weight before the surgery? It took 6 flipping months to get my insurance to approve this and I go in Wed. the 16th! I am happy and scared all at the same time (going under scares me the most) Protein shakes are a good way to loss weight if it is a must before surgery. I have been on the liquid diet my doctor put me on two weeks before surgery and I have lost 16 pounds in 11 days. Was it fun? No, but I do feel better and have a great motivation! ~Laurinda~
  11. I was told I could have a small piece of boneless skinless chicken breast every few days if I needed it to "get me through". I did really well the first 5 days with out food but come the 6th day I did eat the small piece if chicken. It was totally amazing how much better that small bit made me feel. I am sad to say I did eat chicken 3 more time since then but always boneless skinless and I hope I didn't mess up to bad. I go in we. the 16th for me band! ~Laurinda~
  12. It's funny how often we think of food when we are not hungry! I understand 100%. I find I go to bed earlier when not eating
  13. I go in at 5:30 a.m. and my surgery is at 7. I will be going to St. Vincents here in Jacksonville. I am on day 4 of my pre-op diet and things are easier today! Don't get me wrong, I sure wouldn't mind a cheeseburger but all and all things are better today!
  14. My date is Jan 16~North Florida
  15. Hey there Winterbluz! Congrats on the weight loss! I am new here too. Nice to "meet" you
  16. My date for the band is Jan. 16th! I am happy and scared and dang hungry right about now! I know this will be more then worth it. I have "dieted" myself to this weight by losing and regaining and losing etc. we have all been there. I am ready for a change! I was very blessed that insurance is paying for this! :clap2:
  17. I'm on total liquids for 14 days <yay me!> Today is day three and I think today is the worse day yet. I am sure by day 5 it HAS to be better! We can only hope right?!?
  18. Hello All! My name is Laurinda and I am in Florida! I am <cough> 40 years old, been married 18 years and have two children. I get "The band" January 16th. I am so ready for a new beginning! I am on the pre-op diet now <Did I mention I was hungry?> But it's all good. I look at the light at the end of the tunnel! This will be so worth it!
