TJBintheOC got a reaction from Caligirl T in Didnt lose My Hair during My Chemo Treatments but...
I am 10 months out. I got sleeved in June 2015. I am 44 years old. I was 200 and now I'm 130. I starting losing in October, November and December. I lost 50% of my hair. Literally clumps fell out. Because of this site and all of the Hair loss posts, I didn't freak out as much because I knew if I was going to lose hair it would start around the 4th month and last 3 months...which is exactly what happened. I abruptly stopped losing hair after 3 months and now it's all growing back. It's the rapid weight lose and hormones. It's not about getting more Protein or certain shampoos or supplements. If you're going to lose hair, it's going to happen. You'll be so afraid it won't stop and then it just does. I didn't get bald spots, but it got very thin and I lost about 6 inches in length. It does suck, but it was worth the weight lose. Good luck!

Totally normal. A nurse friend told me to get drops for my Water that contain magnesium and electrolytes. I got mine at Sprouts. I had terrible calf cramps. Good luck.

Hang in there. I'm 10 months out and had two bouts of sadness. I regretted the surgery, was afraid, had no energy, lost hair...was just funky. That has all gone away and I feel great. You're going through a lot emotionally, physically and mentally. You'll pull through this! ????????

TJBintheOC got a reaction from elaina831 in Is there a limit on protein?
Your weight X .003= Protein grams. It depends on your age and fitness level too. You can get too much protein. I've seen posts where people say they are eating 100 to 120 g of protein a day. That can cause problems too. For a woman, who lightly exercises, which I assume is most of us, 40-60 g is good. ????

I had Constipation off and on for almost six months. I took milk of magnesia and that always helped. I drink one cup of coffee every morning and that makes me go. I really freaked out about pooping every three or four days, because before I went every day. But you just aren't going to go every day because you're not eating as much. But mom helped me every time. I did get a few roids, but they're better now.

TJBintheOC got a reaction from maileijulia in Honestly, what is everyone eating 1-3 yrs post op
I am 8 mos out and I eat everything. popcorn and nuts. I eat Beans, Pasta and bread sparingly. It fills me up too quickly. I've posted before and I've received negative comments about my eating habits. But it works for me. I started at 200 and I now weigh 133...and I don't fluctuate much. I eat many times a day, but 4 or 5 bites. I don't log my food or count anything. Maybe I'm being naive or getting cocky...but I've counted and logged food my whole life and I feel free now. I can definitely eat more now. I don't think I've stretched out my stomach. I can eat very little in the morning, but as the day goes on I can eat more. I never drink alcohol, carbonated drinks, or juice. I eat chips, tacos, English muffins and Peanut Butter. Turkey Jerky, nuts, cheese, pizza, Sweets aren't my thing, and if I do eat them, it's a few bites. Don't eat ice cream. I love cheeseburgers (half with one bun). A taquito. Half a piece of chicken and four bites of salad with ranch. A few fries. Sweet potato. No fruit really. I eat what I want when I want...just four or five bites. I would really have to work at it all day and make myself uncomfortable to gain weight. I don't know if this is bad advice, but it works for me. Good luck.

Coco Libre Protein Coconut Water in chocolate, Vanilla, coffee and Almond. It looks like a juice box. They're on the shelf at Sprouts. Put it in the fridge, shake it up....sooooo good.

I started losing hair at month 4, 5 and 6. Lost 50%. At month 7 it stopped falling out and it's growing back. Seems like month 4 is when the Hair loss starts for a lot of us. Doc said it's not Protein, it's hormones. I just accepted it and got through it. It was scary. But it's growing back great now.

TJBintheOC reacted to provenzee in Can anyone else eat more some days than others?
I am not complaining, and I don't really find it too concerning. It's just interesting. Yesterday I made "taco pie" - a recipe I found in my bariatric cookbook. It was delicious, and has the consistency of a thick chili. Anyway, last night I measured out four ounces of it for dinner. I ate it all! I feel like I could have fit in a little more but I didn't want to push it. I took some for lunch today (again, weighed out 4 ounces), and I barely ate half and was STUFFED! My sleeve definitely has a mind of it's own sometimes.
Anyone else have this as well?

umm lets see i wore Husky, clothes when i was a kid, thats the euphemism for fat kid. i was never thin, always fat. missed out on a lot of life by being the fat kid. Now many years later at 45 i hit my goal 1 year and 3 days after surgery i went from a high weight of 408 to my current of 168. i dont know that i can event ex[lain what its like. to do things like shop in any store i want. to sit in any seat and not worry about fitting. To walk anywhere and not get tired or sweat my ass off while sitting still. I can and do, a lot. not just work out, but move and not fall over dead, i averaged 4 to 5 pneumonias per year the last 5 years with 14 hospitalisations. but since my surgery not one. my sleep apnea is gone, literally i was on a ton of meds for what they thought was narcolepsy and i wasnt allowed to drive at night. or long distances. now i have no problems at all. the differences are vast and not just in what you can do. but what you will feel. im still learning, its like being transported into a new body and trying to figure it out. I only wish i had done it many years sooner.
