  6. I was having some anxiety about surgery the other day. I wouldn't classify it as second guessing, because I never really thought of not going thru with it. I was just freaking a bit, about how my adjustment to a new way of eating will be and if people will notice something is up with me (I didn't tell any of my friends or co-workers that I see most often). I went to get my pre-op testing at the hospital that I will get my surgery. They have a huge bariatric program there. That day..I ran into so many people who have had the surgery and were so happy AND SKINNY!! It was just so good to see and very reasuring for me. Since then I no longer really worry about failing again and am determined to be just as sucessful as they are ( I'm just very competative) Of course I still have some anxiety about the surgery itself---Oh and thank you for letting me know how post-op pain would be!!! :clap2:

  13. Finished my pre-op stuff today. It was not bad at all. The Upper GI was no where as bad as I thought. Nothing to it for thoes who have not yet completed the tests. The Artirial Blood Gas test was the worst, but still not bad at all. I'm strange..I like that kind of stuff though. My doc didn't make me do a liquid pre-op diet, just a low carb (like atkins) diet. lost 15 pounds already. :clap2:

Just did half of my pre-op testing today. I go to have the rest ( chest x-ray, Upper GI, and ultrasound) tomorrow. I too am excited and scared  at the same time. I've NEVER had surgery before. Sometimes I think "what the heck am I about to do". :omg: ..Then I relax and think " It will be totally worth it" :biggrin1: YAY!!!! I want to lose 120 pounds, How about you? 19. Hi, Due to many days of taking leave etc. I told my supervisor and 2 co-workers (field partners) that I was having a hiatal (sp?) Hernia repair. That's it..simple and only did that because the 2 co-workers and my supervisor asked about all the sick leave and wanted to know if I was ok...So told them it was no big deal. Also explained my pre-op diet..Since I'm over weight, surgeon wanted me to shrink liver if possible.

  24. My surgery date is March 21, 2006. It's funny, my biggest fear is getting in a car accident on the way to the hospital. :car: :omg: I really don't want anything to get in my way of getting my band. I am also kinda freaked out about having surgery period. I have never had surgery before, so I don't know at all what to expect...will it hurt...will i want to throw up? :fear::mad: :crutch:
