sleeve4086222015 got a reaction from BLERDgirl in Losing 85% of your stomach 4ever
. What if you get diabetes, cancer, heart disease, immobility, depression because of where you are now? I thought the same thing. Truthfully, I was up to 435 at my highest weight and waited 20 years for something better. At the time, I was 300 lbs. I didn't want to be rerouted, but with the VSG I am getting my life back. Just weigh your options carefully. I am 339.6 and three months out from 408. -

Stop! We are all different. We all have one thing in common: food and our relationship. I always love to exercise. So walking 2-3 miles right after surgery was a no brainier. I am exactly 4 weeks out and I took a Water aerobics class that had me huffing and puffing before was actually surprisingly easy. So I'm gonna have to bump it up. Don't judge yourself by others' progresses. As one friend says on Fitbit, "Go get it". Get it for you! This is your journey. Increase what you can do at your pace. Don't get discouraged.

My mom used to say, the reason why erasers are on the end of pencils and now pens.......because people make mistakes. Keep moving! It was a bump. Make your surgery, your energy, and time count. Girl, you got 45 lbs to slay! Rrrrrrrh!

Maybe your bff needs time to process your decision. Your relationship WILL change, but not necessarily for the worse. Who wants or likes change. We are usually forced into change, right? Since you are both nurses, she also sees the "possible" complications, pitfalls, and pain that these types of surgeries entail. Don't write her off. She is your bff!

sleeve4086222015 got a reaction from TrillTX in Sad about missing food
I was sleeved on the 22nd of June. I miss the numbness that food gave to me. I do love texture and flavor too. Every time I see others eating junk, I count the fat grams, the non-existent Protein, the carbs, and I picture the new me. My family went to Sonic last night. There was nothing that I could have. So I ordered a Route 44 cup of ice for 75 cents. I chews the ice slowly and eventually drank the melted ice. Keep asking yourself why?

I am using the deli as a resource. For example, I order a beautiful broiled Salmon and blended it in the extra juice, sauce, gravy, I asked for at purchase with a hit of 1/3 fat cream cheese. Oh my God, delicious. I love beans! I blended baby Limas and baked chicken (extra juice) and had a hit of whipped sweet potatoes. Monday, I am going to slow cook a cheap steak with broccoli add some kind of cheap low sodium teriyaki sauce with a few grains of brown rice and lose my mind in the world of 2 oz dining.

sleeve4086222015 got a reaction from Madmax68 in Weird Body Dysmorphia
Keep a journal. Explain the truth to yourself on its pages even if you lie to everyone else around you. I had to explain to myself that I was a food addict. I explained that I self medicated to cover up the fact that I didn't value myself at all. Then I had the task of figuring out why? I'm not there yet. Not even close. Society does a job on humans. We hate each other to the core and we don't know why? We just have to keep finding reasons why it is vital to start loving one person at a time.....starting with ourselves.

Gas pains are no jokes! I felt them at home! I thought two Olympic teams the USA and China were playing for the gold. I, too, hate Protein Shakes. I think "Premier Protein" is the shake for me. The big issue is getting the fluids down ALL 64 oz in a day! I had my sleeve on the 22nd of June.
