  1. Thanks for all of the great advice. Here is the funky part though, I haven't lost but three pounds with this fill (scale says I gained it back too) and that makes for a grand total of about 10-14 since surgery on January 3rd? Most depressing for sure. I am trying to remember that most bandster vets say until good restriction is achieved, this could be the norm. I am just so frustrated!
  2. Yes, truth be told I do eat to fast and take to big of bites. It's so hard to break a life long habit. That's what got me into being fat in the first place!! Will try to make concious effert to slow down!!
  3. Before I go any further, let me just thank the many of you, who help us newbies out with our questions. I know you have heard them a million times, and yet, you all respond with such patience! Alrighty, I have just had 1.8 CC's in a 10 CC band (1 fill) and already I have problems with food getting stuck. No, I haven't PB'd but I wonder when I get my next fill this Thursday, if it won't be much worse. I admit to having problems eating too fast still. Could it be the wheat buns or wheat tortillas too? Maybe chicken breast......dunno?
  4. OMG, that does bum me out. I mean the whole reason for getting the band is because other diets have failed in the past. Should I ask my Dr. to be more agressive?
  5. :confused_smile:I got banded on January 4th and lost 10lbs from liquids. Had my first fill two weeks ago and have yet to loose any more weight. Big appetitie yet, some things take time to go down and even get stuck a little before they eventually go down. NOthing. Nada. What the heck? I go for my next fill March 8th. Will I start loosing then ya think? I have 10cc band and 1.8 put in. Thanks all.....
  6. I sound exactly like the gal who started this post and I wondered, how long did you wait to schedule your second fill. I got my first, three days ago. Thank You.
  7. I've just been banded a month now and it's so weird.....after eating, when I inhale deeply, I let out a long burp. Now, I am a singer and I am dreading taking a deep breath during a song and letting one rip!
  8. Actually Hemet to be exact. I just got banded about 9 days ago and have lost about 5 lbs. I go for my first fill in Mexico next month and pray to God for some restriction, as I have zero right now! Nice to read all of your posts, definitely up for getting together with other bandsters!
  9. So great to hear. My first fill is next month and I was wondering how it would go. Did your Doc do it under fluroscopy and did he put in a good amount for the first fill?
  10. Hey everyone, I am 6 days post-op and just wanted to know when I can stop covering the steristrips. They are itching like crazy, but there is no discharge and the wounds look great Thanks All.
  11. Girl, I am exactly where you are right now and feeling entirely the same!! I got banded 5 days ago, and yes, I tend to be an impatient person at times however, I have barely lost two pounds and have been on liquids all of this time. A friend of mine did say this however...... Our body may be in that starvation mode, as it is halting the brakes because it simply isn't used to so few calories. Also, she said to allow for post of swelling and the IV fluids hanging around. I am serious, I have Budda belly!! Seriously, we can't be the only two people in the world this doesn't work for!!
  12. Thanks for the encouragement! A friend of mine pointed out that it could pe post-op swelling or even my body slamming on the breaks, because of the fasting calories after eating so many calories before? Once again though, thanks!
  13. Forgot to add this little dealy bob.
  14. Yes, I did just have surgery last Friday, but crud I have been on liquids all of this time, and have only lost 2 pounds. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't noticed the rest of the folks here seems to loose quicker? Not only that but, my absorbable sutures are itching like crazy! Not so down, and out in Hemet :cry
  15. Thank you, I really needed your advice right now. I am four days post op and admit to doing exactly what surgeon says, as far as my liquids. I am so lame though, I stepped on the scale and was bummed that I am exactly the same as when I started. I know.....it's only been four days! I just thought that I might loose eating liquids. Dumb huh? So, it's full liquids tomorrow, pudding OK right?
  16. Yup, me too....actually I was banded on Friday and am home from Mexico today. I am absolutely ravenous and the liquids go right through me. I drink, and about 15-30 mins later, I am hungry again. Still sore, especially on port side. I have one day until I go to solid liquids!!
  17. I'll tell you what, tomorrow is the big day and after getting all of the rules for eating and information on how I would have to change my eating habits. . . . . . . . . . well, I became overwhealmed. There is so much to think about now, just to eat a meal. Can you even enjoy it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I am still going through with this. . . . . . it's just tough. Then I read people saying they had as many as 12 fills ? Holy Cow. Way more than I anticipated. Sheeesh. Positive feedback anyone :cry.
  18. What should I pack? Of course, I have thought of the obvious like toothpast and what not, but what are the things that most people forget, or that you wish you would have brought with you?
  19. Hey girl, I too am scheduled for the fourth. I will see you there!!
  20. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! OMG people, please don't tell me that's the norm. Serious second thoughts here......
  21. I will be seeing Dr. Kuri in TJ. He has done several proceedures and the staff seems quite professional. State of the art hospital. You can type in his name on this forum and other patients will have information on him as well.
  22. Oops, I almost forgot. Did you all eat more than three times a day while recovering? I was told I might be quite hungry and that I shouldn't be focusing on weight loss at first?
  23. Thank you everyone for the advice. It is much appreciated!
  24. Hey there, I will be banded with Dr. Kuri myself this Thursday. I will try to tell you all I can via this web site okay. Take care and wish me luck.....or say a prayer!
  25. Hey there, good to hear you are doing well. I too will be having my surgery with Dr. Kuri. What can you tell me about your experience? Surgery is this Thursday!!
