This Is Normal.....Right?

:confused_smile:I got banded on January 4th and lost 10lbs from liquids. Had my first fill two weeks ago and have yet to loose any more weight. Big appetitie yet, some things take time to go down and even get stuck a little before they eventually go down. NOthing. Nada. What the heck? I go for my next fill March 8th. Will I start loosing then ya think? I have 10cc band and 1.8 put in.

Thanks all.....

From what I've heard, people with a 10cc band can take a little bit longer to fill up. With only 1.8cc, you just need to get more fills. Don't panic :) You have a long way to fill that thing up.

If you only have a few things get stuck, maybe you're eating too quick or not chewing enough.

I'm not surprised you are not feeling restriction with 1.8 in a 10 cc band. My husband's first fill was 4 cc in his 10 cc band, and he had no restriction after about 48 hours.

Talk to your doctor about the amount of fills. He may be one who is very conservative with them, in which case it may take you a while to get restriction.

I was banded 12/12, Today was my 3rd fill. I have 5.4 in my 10cc band. I am just now feeling restriction! Lets hope it lasts!

I to have a 10cc band right now i have had two fills and i think i will be needing another one soon, right now i have 4cc in my band, I was banded on 11-19-07

I have 6cc's in my 10cc band and no restriction, so it might take a few fills before you get there. In the meantime, take small bites, chew well and I hate to tell you this but until you get good restriction, you need to diet to lose weight.

So time to use everything you've learned from previous dieting attempts. Count calories and be sure to get enough Protein in.

Yeah, I know bummer! I'm right there with you!

OMG, that does bum me out. I mean the whole reason for getting the band is because other diets have failed in the past. Should I ask my Dr. to be more agressive?

No, it doesn't mean that. It just means we both have to be a little patient. We didn't put this weight on in a few months and it's not going to come off in a few months.

If that was our main goal, then we should have done GBP.

Hang in and just keep up your fill appt's regularly. If we work the process and work with our bands, we'll get there.

I was banded on 11/7, lost 14 lbs in the week after surgery, then it's been 1 up, 1 down, as of Monday I had lost a total of 18 lbs. So, only 4 from 11/14 to 2/25. Very frustrating. On Monday I had another fill (my 3rd) and I'm now at 5 ccs in a 10 cc band. I finally know what you mean by restriction!!! I can only eat a few bites at a time -- but I feel satisfied. I at a little too fast last night and felt nauseous -- but didn't vomit. According to my scale I'm down 8 lbs since Monday! Hurray. Maybe I've hit my sweet spot.

You will too! I think it does take working carefully with your doctor and being patient. Easy for me to say now, I wasn't so sanguine on Monday!!! Hang in there.

I have a 10cc band, it took me a while to get restriction too. I had my 4th fill and a little over 6 cc and finally feel it. You will get there. You don't want to put too much in too fast either. Just take your time and get used to each phase. I know it sucks not losing weight right away!

You were banded one month before me and you're already down 70 lbs! Wow. I'm both impressed and jealous. I'm only down 18 officially, 26 if you cound what I seem to have lost (on my home scale) this week. Once you hit your sweet spot did you start losing really fast? I'd love to hear more.

I lost 37 before surgery, so technically only 34 since surgery. It was REALLY slow after surgery, after I got the proper fill level and started eating low carb high protien it came off a lot faster!

I am in the SAME boat - And I am about on the same timeline. I was banded 1/9/08 and had my fill about 2 1/2 weeks ago and go back on March 6th - I am STUCK at 16 lbs. Nothing else since my fill and a little before. I feel NO restriction - I know I can eat too much. I need the band to help me - I mean I did not get the band because I am good at CONTROLING my eating - I need help! Like everyone else here. I am at 2.4CCs in a 10 band - So, next time I go, I am going to ask for a VERY liberal fill. I don't care if I am miserable for a few days - its worth it if I start losing again.

Feel free to Private Message me if you want to talk about it more - again - SAME SITUATION

It will definitely take more fills before you feel restriction. My first fill in my 10cc AP band was 5 cc's. It wasn't until me 3rd fill that I really started to feel it.

I also have a 10cc band first fill 2cc I had some restriction for about 2 weeks and I got my second fill on 2/2/07 (1cc) so far so good I get full off 1cup of food hope it last because I now have to pay 150.00 a fill...

I got my first fill today, Yahoo. Banded 12/19/07. I haven't lost in the last two weeks and been eating too much. Didn't put any more weight on but sure wanted to lose.

I am excited to get jump started again,;) with the liquids for a couple of days and then soft foods for another couple of days. The the mushies are not so much protein, but it's only a couple of days.

It felt very strange getting the fill. I am on insulin so I am used to the shots, that didn't bother me. But didn't know how I was supposed to feel. :ohmy:Hurt my chest having the liquid in there but I guess that is the air. I can't burp at will so it took a little while before that feeling was gone. I feel o.k. now and again excited about losing more in the next few weeks.

I'll have to ask at my next appointment what size my band is, I got 6 cc's today in my fill.
