  1. Well, it has been 3 years since I have been banded. I have been throwing up for 6 months, even after unfill. There is pain at the port site and finally got seen by a new surgeon. He thinks the band has slipped and there is a hernia at the port site. I have maybe lost 35lbs in three years. This is just me though; I know many folks have been quite successful. My question is, should I have it removed or give it another chance and have it repaired. What can I do better this time in order to loose weight safely? :mad2::thumbup:
  2. OMG, that's me. I have lost about 24lbs in 6 months and for a weeks I practically starved myself. It just hasn't been working for me like some of you all. I am at 3.4 CC's now and for almost three months food was getting stuck, I was barfing all the time. Now, I can eat pizza (once and a while) and bread without much problem. Should I get a fill?
  3. Yes, after 4 monts of not loosing a dang thing, I too have come to the conclusion that I must "diet" with weight loss surgery! No, I am not so fortunate as to have it fall off at all. I know I have good restriction, actually I might have to much. Anyhow, I have since put myself on a 1200 calorie diet and before the band I would have been famished but this tool is helping me feel satisfied. I should start loosing like gang busters I hope!?
  4. To not have success with the lap band? I admit, I am very afraid I will be one of the few. Seriously, I haven't lost anything for almost 4 months now and my band is tight enough that I often get stuck. I am working out and eating health and have seen some change in the way my clothes are fitting but it is minimal at best. Also, I have yet to break 210 and have been fluctuating for 4 months. I called my Doctor, talked with others and prayed for the answer as to why this isn't working. I am just feeling absolutely hopeless at this point. What could be wrong......as I am at witts end?:woot:
  5. I have had three fills and am at 3.4 in a 4 CC band. Nothing! I have thrown up several times, and gotten stuck but 0 weight loss. I can eat alot now and again and puke after 5 bites other times. I took am so disapointed as this was the last hope for me. Who would of thought I would have to try weight watchers because my bad wasn't working for me:thumbdown:?
  6. It's weird. Yesterday, I could hardly eat anything and even threw up yet today, I ate two pieces of turkey sausage and a scrabled egg. No problem?
  7. Thanks everyone for the advice. It's weird, I started hiccuping after three sips of lemonaid too!
  8. Yes, and painful. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining as I was griping about not enough fill but whoa, tough adjustment! I am thinking I will eat yogurt or smoothies for breakfast for a while.
  9. I finally got a third fill and know what it is that people are talking about. It's tiiiight. I can get a little food down, but it's been a battle. I had three pieces of egg this morning and it was torture. Having said that, why am I hiccuping every time I eat or drink something? Anyone else having this problem? Thanks All....
  10. Okay, first and second fill, still eating like a horse with no weight loss. I had my third fill and am at 3.4 in a 4 CC band. Slow going down with liquids, had half of lasagna and some bread with olive oil in tiny bites. No problem there however, this morning I tried to eat a spinich omlette and the wrath of the band hit me!! Seriously, I don't get it? Why okay the first two days and couldn't get in three bites total, the next day. I took tiny bites and chewed well I assure you but still got stuck? Veterans, help me out with this one.
  11. I think I may try one more time and if this doesn't work, I will try Fill Center USA. Thanks everyone....
  12. I had my surgery with Dr. Kuri in Mexico and it was a great experience. I must say however, that I have a 9.75 band and have had two fills. I am up to only 2.5 CC's and aside from the 14 lbs from the liquid diet, I haven't lost anyting thing else. It's been three months and I feel I am wasting time and money. I still can eat alot even though I am watching what I eat and taking daily walks. Should I go back for a third fill or look elsewhere?
  13. :embaressed_smile:Seriously, can I get away with having a diet soda once and a while without doing damage? Haven't had any since surgery in January.
  14. I hear ya girl. I have an ultra conservative Dr. and in a 10cc band I have only 2.5 cc's right now. Have not lost jack! I have had two fills and am in tears all the time because everyone is asking me if I have lost weight and I have to keep telling them no! I am trying a new doc next month. It's so hard to see the numbers of those loosing over a hundred pounds on here. Believe me, I have such regrets about this surgery but a slight hope this will all work out for me.....
  15. Oh I hope that is the policy Kat. I cannot tell you how depressed this is making me. I have my first appointment on the 8th. Tell me, do they use fluroscopy?
  16. Has anyone ever used the Fill Center in Cardiff, CA with Dr. Powell? I usually see Dr. Kuri (have had two fills) but, find him to be much to reserved with his fills. I have only 2.5 CC's in a 10 CC band and haven't had any loss since liquid diet. I have hardly any restriction and wondered how Dr. Powell would be. Thanks All....
  17. You guys, I feel so depressed and a little screwed over. I have a whopping 2.5 with my second fill in a 10cc band. What the crap man? I have heard of being cautious but this is rediculous. To top it off, I can only go back once a month, so now I get to wait another month in hopes of getting some restriction. Try absolutely zero weight loss for a month now!
  18. Wow, what a great idea! I will look into that and also, try not to wait to eat until I am ravenous!
  19. Thanks for the help. Yes, that is exactly it too.......I get off work and am ravenous! Then I take to large of bites and quickly. Ugh!!
  20. You are so funny! Thanks Jack.
  21. Thank you so much for the input. It's appreciated and I will take it to heart!
  22. That is the truth! I can tell, I am going to need another one in a month and hope to God, he gives me a decent fill! I am tired of having no proof of weight loss surgery but the scars on my stomach.
  23. Yes, it can be so very frustrating however, it is good to see your success!
  24. Had my first fill last month and in a 10cc band, I had 1.8 put in. I went in yesterday for my second fill and had gained 5lbs. Now, I know I still can eat alot but whoa. What the heck? Yes, I can take the blame for some of it as I know my kids had a birthday party and I did have cake and ice cream. What's the point of lying, however I was told by the nurse that I just need a fill. What do you all think? Oh, I now have 2.5 cc's in my band.
  25. What the heck man? Dr. Kuri only put in 1.8 for me and I have a 10 cc band. Man, I am asking him to be more agressive tomorrow!
