  1. I had clear liquids for the first 3 days and then liquids? Have you moved onto Liquids yet? Congrats on the surgery
  2. I liked Centrum chewables and had them until month six then went on regular centrum advanced. As for Protein, I had and still have Optimum Nutrition (chocolate) for drinks. Initially I mixed the powder in a large glass of Water (20 oz) and would constantly sip it. That way I hit my protein and water early on. Now I mix it in 4 oz if I need to have a shake during the day. Best wishes for the surgery and a speedy recovery. Kate

  4. Its only been a couple of days. Just remember that your body has been through a massive operation and although some people don't have a lot of pain afterwards, some do. Hope you feels better soon and congratulations!! Kate
  5. That picture isnt showing
  6. The only thing that happened to me, was that the skin below and above my eyes lost a heck of a lot of volume. Other than that my face didnt change at all. I never use Water or soap on my face and never have (Thats the one thing I carried on from my mother). Even in my early teens i cleaned my face with cream, either ponds or baby lotion. Maybe im now reaping the benefits of that. I use cold pressed coconut oil for a moisturiser or bio oil. Kate
  7. Thanks for that James Information added : 78 stone/1092 llbs = 496/497 kg
  8. From the Daily Mail: The world's fattest woman has lost 66lbs in five days ahead of her lifesaving treatment. Eman Ahmed, 78 stone, was flown from her home in Egypt to India on a specially modified cargo plane to undergo a series of operations to help her lose weight. Her family posted a desperate plea online to Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi asking for medical assistance. After hearing about her case, Dr Lakdawala agree to help her free of charge. She has since been placed on a strict 1,200-calorie diet and lost a stone a day in her first five days at the hospital. Doctors aim to reduce her weight by 450lbs this year so she can fit on the operating table. Eman was reportedly born with elephantiasis - a parasitic infection which causes extreme swelling in a person's limbs and arms. She has been heavy all her life and by the time she was 11 she was too heavy to walk, and had to crawl to get around. She suffered a cerebral stroke as a child which left her bed-ridden and she piled on the pounds. Last week, doctors said the 36-year-old would be fed only liquid supplements for the next 25 days to help her lose the 110lb (50kg) required before they can begin operating. if the initial treatment was successful then doctors could use surgery to bring Abd El Aty's weight down to under 220lb (100kg) in a couple of years' time. This made me realise how lucky we are to have WLS avaliable to us and also made me really emotional about this ladies circumstances. Wishing her and the team the very best for the future. God bless them. Kate
  9. I am hopless with IV's so I asked for medication prior to going into the pre-op room. They gave me a little gas too and I was out before they put the line in. You could check before hand if they could do this for you too Kate
  10. Focus on the positives, write them down and read them to yourself every day. Keep busy preparing for when you come home. Being nervous leading up to the surgery is common, come here and get support. You're not alone!! Kate
  11. I had four weeks off work but wish I had taken the six weeks I could have. I didn't factor the total exhaustion I felt the weeks following the surgery. I started feeling I had more energy around week six. I think it depends on the job you do and how active you are during the day. Kate
  12. Sally, The question was for the OP. Sorry for the confusion. Kate
  13. Positive thinking... loving it !!
  14. It's not to lose weight, its to shrink the liver so its easier for the surgeon to get to the stomach. Have you been told that you have to lose 10llb a short time before surgery? Kate
  15. Yes, every day it will get a little easier. You have been through a massive surgery. Be kind to yourself and speedy recovery! Kate
  16. I just had mine ! Bye bye skin I do think its important to have things to focus on, even when you are at goal weight. I have found maintaining much more difficult than the honeymoon phase. So my goal for maintaining for the next 6 months is to have 'hidden' braces to straighten up my top teeth. They arent bad but I have one tooth that needs to sit back a little more. We are all deserving of treats when we reach even smaller goals let alone get down to goal weight. Spa day, special haircut, nails done.. just treat yourself to something you wouldn't normally do. Kate
  17. Congrats ! It's so nice going into a shop and not reaching straight to the back of the rail. That was a real lightbulb moment for me
  18. Are you noting down everything you are eating/drinking? Are you constipated, exercising, due on your monthly? Are you in a stall?
  19. Just be really aware that it can become an issue of transferance as well.
  20. I still drink decaff now. I have just got used to it so didnt switch back to regular. I think my first one was around the 6th month mark. Kate
  21. Good to hear you are okay.. Im 5 weeks ahead now and like the VSG every day does get better!!
  22. My surgeon said I would probably hit 160 and then stop. I said 140. Anywhooo
  23. Soon after surgery I used to mix my Protein powder with 10 oz Water and continually sip it. That way i got the fluids and protein in. If i have a shake now I just mix it with 4oz of water. Congratulations ! Kate
  24. I had centrum chewables straight after surgery and also Calcichew D3Forte. I liked both of them. 18 months out, I still have the Calcichew but take regular vitamins. I have just ordered patches, they had a really good offer on via PatchMD so ordered 6 months worth. Hope you find something you like !!
  25. You have been through a massive operation and for some (me too!) exhaustation can be the worst thing in recovery. I would try to get more fluid in and rest as much as you can. Hope you feel better soon Kate
