Drinking to easily?
I wouldnt worry about being able to drink easily. Most people struggle with fluids initially, so at least youre not going to have dehydration! Water and thin fluids go straight through the stomach. Congrats on the surgery Kate

Shopping List - UK
My husband made me home made soups and we froze them in large ice cube trays. That and protein drinks were my staple foods once i was on full liquids. Don't buy too far ahead as your tastes may change. Best wishes for the surgery

Will we ever be able to drink liquids like we use to?
I was able to drink quite fast withing a couple of weeks. I could drink a whole pint of water at once. Whats the evidence which states if you are a fast drinker you will eat fast too? Gulping down water/tea/coffee/insert drink here, didn't resut in me having to have a VSG. Eating too much did.

Protein bars over shakes?
They don't at all but then I make sure I only have one a day and have more Water just in case. I wouldn't eat any others bars after having those. The white chocolate ones are nice too. Their flapjack bars are too carb heavy for me. I dont have bars a lot, maybe one or two a month when really needed.

Protein bars over shakes?
Bars are so handy to have when you are out and about. I took 2 boxes to Cuba, when I was 5 months out, in case I couldn't get anything I liked, or felt I could stomach. I have Carb Killa Caramel Chaos and they are lovely. The bars can be quite addictive so I tend to buy them when I need them and not have them in the house. When you can have them, remember to drink more fluids! Kate

Since losing weight have you been treaded differently?
I wouldn't say I have been treated differently at all or maybe I just havent noticed it. I have a very happy disposition and when I decided to have the surgery, friends woud say that they never really saw past my smile, so the 'package' wasn't an issue and it hasnt changed how they treat me now. As for skinny shop assistants, well as long as you have the money to buy in their shop, again - I havent had issues. Maybe I am just lucky as I have heard horror stories from other people about shop assistans being rude. As for my marriage, its the same as it was before. Near enough perfect What has changed is my attitude to me. I don't wear black to events, I don't stand in corners trying to hide. I have started horse riding again, which I havent done for such a long time. I have faith that I really do deserve that dress which costs a lot and I don't need to look at the sale rails all the times now hoping something cheap will just 'do'. My kids are all adults, so its time for me now. I have earn't it. Kate

Boobs !
Both have been fine. I have some necrosis but the hospital have been great and are dealing with it at the moment. I had quite a lot done at once, that and my age meant that I didn't bounch back as easy as if I were in my 20's.

Boobs !
It depends what outcome you want. What size are you now, what size do you want to be?

Have You Always Had a Weight Problem?
I had 'puppy fat' as a child but wasn't really overweight. When I reached my teens, I was about 116 llbs and stayed that was until I was pregnant with my first son at 27 years old. Six months after that birth I was pregnant again and a year after the second birth, my weight sky rocketed when my thyroid stopped working. This was about 30 years ago. It took a further 8 years to get pregnant again and he weight 13 llbs at birth! Not an excuse, just the facts. I hate auto immune diseases. Kate

Liquids vs food for protein does it matter?
The sleve is just a tool. You need to learn to control it not let it control you. It's tough at times but its easier and easier, day by day. You need to stay strong and just stick to measuring/weighing the food until you are in maintenance . I still eat 6 meals a day, because that's what works for me. YOU need to be your own stop watch. For the first year of being here I felt a bit of a fake. I had no ongoing issues and eveything went smoothly until maintenance. Now I am having to work hard at this. Congrats on the surgery !!

Liquids vs food for protein does it matter?
I didnt have any problems either ... just be grateful you can drink and eat well. Stick to weighing foods though and keep to 2-3 oz until your tummy heals more. Also if you had a more dense protein, you probably wouldn't be able to eat as much. Why do you feel as if you are doing something wrong?

How Often Do You Weight Yourself?
Now once a week or once a fortnight. I used to weigh myself every day but I just couldn't keep that up long term. It would have driven me bonkers Kate
