  1. Define "cheat"?.
  2. "I know I'm not doing what needs to be done". Either do it or don't. Your choice. If you can't wrap your head around it now, wait until you get to maintaining your weight. Best of luck. Kate
  3. Hey, you should be proud of what you have done no matter how! Take ONLY out of your comment. Every llb down should be celebrated

  7. I think you are all amazing! I had 4 weeks off but near enough died at work when I went back (ok slight exaggeration but I'm sure you know what I mean). I was exhausted and was in bed at 6pm each night. I started feeling better after 6 weeks. Everyone is so different. Just take it as it comes and decided when you need to. Kate p.s: resting is good but get a lot of walking in between snoozing and best of luck !!
  8. Hello Rohit... I have had problems with my weight for over 25 years, ever since I had thyroid issues. I would lose weight then put it back on... lose weight, put it back on, lose weight.... well you get the picture. I decided on the sleeve because I didn't, want the malabsorption issues you can have with the bypass. I am not saying that the bypass is better or worse, I am just saying for me the sleeve was the best option. My only regret is that I didn't have it done earlier. Read as much as you can online, research it until you know exactly what this entails as it's for life not just a quick fix. Best wishes with your decision ? Kate
  9. Hang on in there... once you start on purée it will be a different ballgame. Kate
  10. You actually look great in both photos ? Congratulations on the weight loss so far! Keep up the good work. Kate
  11. I am past goal so this might not be suitable for you right now however I tried a two week HFLC eating plan and my skin has gone from very dry and itchy to as smooth as a baby's bum (as the saying goes) I didn't lose any weight but I know people who have. It's not something I could do long term as it was far too 'rich' for me. Now I am back to clean eating ? i will be keeping an eye on this topic as it's always good to hear what has worked for others. Congratulations on the weight loss btw... amazing !! Kate
  12. Wow... congratulations. Keep up the good work !!!
  13. You should really contact your team about this and ask their advice. The reality is you can eat whatever you want to but do you really want to take the risk?
  14. Yep. Had to take it off or they wouldn't have done the surgery. I felt naked !!
  15. Might be an idea to keep a few snacks with you at all times so you aren't tempted to have poor food choices so early on. I have found recently, that a lot of general stores sell healthy high protein food. So considering this is England and we are 10 years behind the USA, you should be able to easily buy good healthy snacks. Also are you keeping up your fluids? If you have a good amount of water and you still feel hungry, then maybe you do need to eat. Just not chicken nuggets lol.
  16. I concede Blair, hence me saying that I worked really hard the first year learning about nutrition and tracking etc etc. Tracking is great for so many people and more power to those who do. I'm a little OCD about certain things and wanted to get to the point where I didn't have to track anymore as it could have become a very dark place for me but would certainly do it again for the short term if I felt I needed to. I tend to post about my experience and not tell people the right and wrong way to do things because who am I to say that. I am an expert in me though. So "written in stone comments" tend to get the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I have also just had all my dressings changed at hospital (plastics) and I'm having a pity party at the moment. God it hurts when they rip those suckers off your skin lol. Thanks for the compliments . I am back in work next week so will probably go back to lurking. Eleven weeks off has nearly driven me bonkers. Love the new profile pic btw !! Kate
  17. Has your NUT/Team suggested you take all that 3 days post op? My own opinion is that if you can get the multi vitamin down after a week then the other vitamin stuff can wait. Is the omeprazol taken sublingually? Mine was.. Also your thyroid meds can be taken sublingually (I take Erfa Thyroid) but even so they are tiny tablets to take. My calcium tablets were chewable too. Maybe a call to your GP to see what other options are open to you for a short time. Good luck and congrats on the surgery. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
  18. Totally agree with blizare09. I'm not sure how they get away with calling it chicken !
  19. Walking the dog for longer. Wearing my shorter skirts. Being outdoors more. Doing more sporty activities outdoors.
  20. As I said in the post following the one you quoted. Oh i did track for the first year, learnt about nutrition and set myself up for healthy food choices for the future. I now follow more of a mindful way of eating. I am certainly not being nit picky about everything which goes past my lips every day of the year and that's MY choice and it works for me. What works for one won't for another so we cannot predict things will work for everyone the same way. I don't eat a poor 'diet'. I am VERY strict as to what I eat but I am comfortable not noting it all down. I eat clean and I have maintained lower than my goal weight for a while. My surgeon gave me a predicted goal of 160 lol yet here I am at 135. So it's working for ME. If I start putting weight on, then maybe I will need to think of other things to stay accountable. See you in 3 years and congratulations on your success so far. Kate
  21. I would also like to add that pre surgery I would go out a lot for meals, I have a very sociable job, a family who go out a lot together and a good bunch of friends. I still go out a lot now I am maintaining. I don't want to be sat with friends having a great night thinking, omg I can't weigh the food and track. I am glad I have learnt an internal strategy which allows me to scan a plate of food and be secure in the knowledge that I will be okay. Protein first a little veg afterwards, no crap carbs. I am not saying everyone can do that but I was obsessive about food before the VSG and there's not a cat in hells chance I will be like that now.
  22. I don't often track anymore. I would be obsessive about it and I really don't want that. I only track protein and carbs anyway, never calories. Monday to Friday I stick to the same food daily so I know I am okay. I don't deviate and if on the rare occasion I do, that's a day that I will track. At the weekends in the winter, we tend to have pot meals, so with hubby and a houseful of sons, I would find it hard to determine the micro's of a meal. People can be successful in a million different ways. To say you won't succeed unless you track is a comment I find a little hard to swallow.
  23. Congratulations and. Speedy Recovery
  24. Are you going to wait until you are at goal for plastics? The scar is usually just above the pubic area and recovery depends on the person etc etc. I have known people go back to work after a week and some not until 10 weeks or more. Congrats on the weight loss so far! Kate
  25. If only for nutrition and stating you are fine with drinking, has your surgeon suggested making juices. I am not saying for a moment to stop trying with food but just to get some nourishment in. Also stick with protein drinks if you can. Go back to what you could last tolerate... purée or soft foods. I really feel for you and hope you manage to resolve this soon. Kate
