  1. Hi CN, I have 5 incisions - a longer one above my navel, one under my boobs and 3 on my waistline. My dressings are still on so I don't know what they closed them with. Jen
  2. Hey, how come the fat girl clothes are always at the back of Target and not at the front like the "Hot Options" stuff. Why do they get such a kitsch name for their skinny bitch clothes and we get "Options Plus". Since when did we have options?? Oh, and Big Advantage? What advantages do we have? Sorry if I offended anyone, it just gets my goat! Man, I could go on ALL day! BTW I'm so glad they changed BIG city chic to just City Chic.
  3. I'm so happy for you, he sounds like a great guy!
  4. Hi, I planned 2 weeks off post-op and I"m glad I did. I couldn't think about going back to work tomorrow on a full fluid diet and I don't have a lot of energy.
  5. Hi! Welcome and congrats on being banded. I'm also on Day 5 and not due back at work for another 9 days. You will find the boards a great source of support and friendship. Jen
  6. Hey secret, I don't think you are overreacting, but it certainly seems like you are fallin' in lurve - would you be so upset if you were just friends? Hee hee
  7. Hi, PBing is short for productive burp. Type PBing into the search box at the top right hand side and you will get a wealth of posts about it.
  8. To be honest, I'm not counting. My Doc didn't give me a calorie guideline to go for, just a fluid intake of 2 litres per day. Typically, I am having: optifast shake for breakfast banana smoothie for lunch V8 juice or soup for dinner Water inbetween maybe some sf jelly or low fat custard somewhere in the day.
  9. LOL John, what she doesn't know won't hurt, right? Hey T, wanna have a ritual burning of the orthotics when we get there? They just don't make pretty shoes for orthotics!
  10. You beat me - that's exactly my point. I'm usually a very pedantic speller, but right now I'm a bit dyslexic. eg. I wrote wait instead of weight before!
  11. Ha ha.....I am dizzy a little, but ditzy means like I'm not that intelligent, bimbo-ish. I'm not thinking very clearly and I'm not stringing 2 words together very well.
  12. You're welcome! And yes, I couldn't do any of this without everyone here!
  13. Ok, if you're like me, you can't wear heels for more than a minute without your feet squealing in pain. I'm hoping, that once I get close to goal, I will be able to tolerate wearing pretty, girly gorgeous heels! Who else dreams of wearing heels? And if you're at or close to goal, are you able to wear them again?
  14. Hi mrodr41, There are heaps of suggestions in the pre-op/post-op thread about what to take. They will give you nausea meds as they don't want you to vomit with a new band - it can cause movement and slippage and is certainly not something we need to go through. The two things I really used in hospital were my lip balm and my little pillow. Cheers,
  15. Hi, Try the link below to show you how to do it. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/ Jen
  16. Oh Diane, Sorry to hear you are finding it like this. I had one of those moments on Day1 and 2. Perhaps you could have other things to drink. Why don't you call your Dr and ask? I'm also a little light-headed, but I am not drinking enough Water. I made a banana smoothie, it was delicious! Perhaps you can have other liquids too. Hope you can have something else, you can't live on 200 calories. Once you go to real food, you will notice a big difference. Hugs, Jen
  17. Hey Jeni, You are going through exactly the same as me. I also went through the "why did I do it" stage but once the pain, nausea and bloatiness subsided, I was so excited. Walking, walking and walking will help get the gas going. Not too far, I just walked around the house. I used de-gas (it's an aussie product) but it really didn't seem to work that much. I also massaged my lower abdo a little bit as it didn't hurt and seemed to help. Some others here used heat pads. I woke up on the 3rd day and it was just gone. I could see my feet again! Hope yours moves soon, Jen
  18. Hey Edie, I love you!! I am 5 days post op and wonder why so many people want to sabotage their efforts to lose weight. It is major surgery and isn't cheap, so I don't understand why people don't follow the instructions. I also did a lot of lurking here pre-op to prepare myself for what was about to happen - maybe people don't know this site exists - but I have to say, it was one of the first sites that popped up when I googled! Thanks for posting it Edie, you're a legend!
  19. Hi, I wasn't allowed to drive for 7 days and actually, I don't really feel up to it anyway. It would drive me mad to be stuck at home for 15 days, though!
  20. Hey Saleel, Glad to hear that you are ok. I'm fine apart from being a little light-headed and ditsy! I have to drink more water. I can't wait to be able to drive!
  21. I had one week off prior to my surgery. I went through my closet from top to bottom. Anything too big either went to ebay or charity, anything I couldn't see myself wearing when I lose weight definitely went to charity and anything that is too small was packed into one of those vacuum bags for a party when I have lost more weight! Needless to say, I didn't have much left that actually fits now and I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more clothes until I get to about 95kgs.
  22. Love it Jess! How DID they get my rolls in all the right places??
  23. Good luck Bobbye! I was just banded on the 1/15 and I'm so happy I did it! Hope your wait isn't too long!
  24. Hey thank you!! I was beginning to think that this is the way I would be forever! What a relief!
  25. Ok, I am obsessed. I have to move the scales from the bathroom - every time I am in there, I always jump on. Which at the moment with my liquid diet is all the time! I only record my weight each Tues since my band was placed but I just can't help seeing the numbers drop!
