M.E.Flores got a reaction from Ruth1ess in Pregnancy post vsg
So I did already post this in the pregnancy forum, but it seems to not have too many ppl active, I mean who can blame them, they are all busy mama's So I will try here.
I'm about 7 1/2 months post vsg and took 2 home pregnancy tests one on 1/1/16 and again on 1/2/16 and they both came back positive, I'm still in shock, hasn't sank in at all yet!! I really thought it would never happen and especially not this quick, I've been tracking my periods and ovulation for about 6 months and since surgery I've been regular every month with no meds, which had never happened! So when I was late in Dec I just had a feeling, I figure I'm 4 weeks based on my tracking app. I am going to make an appt to confirm with my dr hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday, and of course will get info from her, but I'm the type of person who likes to plan and do tons of research, and this will be my first. My questions are these, I'm down 75 lbs which is great, not to goal, but I know that will come in time, so I was curious what a sample day of meals looks like for you all. From what I read it's not a ton more calories that should be added, I have read 18-24 lbs gain is about normal. I want to stay with healthy Protein, fruits and veggies of course similar to what I have now, I've read about a lot of foods to avoid, just curious for some feedback. I do plan on talking to my nut as well. Any and all feedback is appreciated, Thanks!!

Extremely happy to share that I did get pregnant 7 months post op after trying for 17 years. This won't be our first but our daughter is 17. My Dr always said if I lost weight, my hormones will reset and it will work for me but I never believed her. Just thought it was over for me. 7 months later I was preggo and almost hit the floor literally. My husband and I didn't believe and test, not even the blood work, only the sonogram. I gained 68 lbs and now that my son is 8 weeks, I've already lost 48 and 32 of that was within 3 days of labor and all of it was before I even began working out. Now I'm about to start working on the last 20 and I'm feeling AMAZZZZING!! Still trying to lose the cravings I picked up during pregnancy but it's a process like all things....Good luck to you all trying...it will definitely happen now!

I have pcos and was sleeves december 2014. My hw was 300, pre liquid diet was 255, sw was 243 and i am 169 now. Went from a size 24 to a size 8 and have finally seen the inches dropping from the stomach area ... as we all know pcos loves us to carry it in the belly! I went off the metformin when i started the liquid diet as it made me dizzy and have not been back on it since. My Hair growth on my stomach and face has slowed dramatically and i found that while i had some hair thinnig it hasn't been too bad now that i am more than 9 months post op. I also stopped scrubbing it daily and use the dry Shampoo and only scrub 2 to 3 times a week which helped a lot.... think that is about it so far ????

Hey all! Just wanted to share my experience with you. My youngest daughter was just born 4/14/15. I had the sleeve surgery march 18 of 2014 and found out after losing 70+ lbs and 4 months later i was pregnant!!! I had severe morning sickness that turned into hyperemesis graviderum and could keep much of anything down until close to 20 weeks pregnant. I was givin iv fluids for dehydration 3 times. I didnt gain any weight with this pregnancy i actually lost 25 lbs while pregnant. My baby did not suffer from my weight loss as she got everything she needed from me. She was born weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and was completely healthy! She is now 13 days old and is breastfeeding with no issues. My milk came in 3 days after birth and have had no problems with making enough milk. My oldest is 6 and was well bef re my surgery but then i was diagnosed with pcos after 3 years of ttc to no evail. This is my miracle baby although i feel my weight was solely responsible for my secondary infertility. Day of surgery i weighed in at 322 lbs and today i weigh 214. Still trying to lose a few more now. Good luck everyone with your pregnancies!!

Hi everyone! It's been about 10 months now and I am (and have been) in ONEderland for a while! I'll share a before/current pic below. I've never before shown anyone these as they are embarrassing but I am so proud of myself. One thing with a smaller stomach that I have found has been getting in all my fruits and veggies because that is vital. I finally found a company that literally has fruits and vegetables powders in capsule and shake mix form which has seriously changed my life. Anyway, I always post on here every few months to let you all know having the surgery was the best thing I ever did and I am so blessed and thankful to be where I am today. This forum helped me so much pre-op, so I can only hope this reaches/helps out/inspires someone else out there. I'm also on Instagram @ Ahli92. I love making friends!

Since most of the post are from 2011, I will tell my story. I had PCOS since I was 13 years old. I would get a period every few months, sometimes a few months in a row, and then sometimes I would bleed for a whole month (the dr would put me on a pill to stop the bleeding). When I turned 19, somehow I got pregnant. I had a very complicated pregnancy, high risk, antiM in my blood, low amniotic fluids around my daughter, and was induced early. A few years later I tried to have another child, and was unable to. My periods were the same, once every 4 -5 months, then bleeding for a whole month. The gyn told me I wouldn't be able to have any children anymore because my PCOS and thyroid was extremely bad. BROKE MY HEART! I thought about all the way I could try and have another child regardless of what the gyn said... finally I figured surgery may help, not only help me health wise, but help me have a child as well. I had my surgery (sleeve) on August 15, 2013 HW: 272 SW: 255, right after my surgery LITERALLY that weekend, my period started. And the became on point every month and 2 days following. Cramps were back! Bleeding normally was back! This past Feb, my fiance and I (now 27) found out that I was pregnant! My GYN/OBGYN said that since surgery my PCOS is gone, and I was ovulating normally. Currently today, I will be 16 weeks pregnant in 2 days, and I am 9 months post op tomorrow. My CW is 180, and I am still losing weight, I have yet to gain a lb... which is not what I am going for, but for some reason my belly is growing and everything else is shrinking! I am high risk again. They put me on high risk because of surgery, I still have this stupid antiM in my blood, and just incase of low fluids around the baby, although everything seems to be going great. Also, this pregnancy has been completely different than my first. I don't know if it is because I have a smaller stomach, I eat differently, gender difference who knows. This pregnancy has been extremely easy. Hardly any morning sickness, just very sleepy and I have to eat more often. But hope this helps you ladies. I know prior to surgery I was looking for answers as well.

M.E.Flores reacted to ichefmastersgirl in Question For Ladies With Pcos Who Got Pregnant After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Hi ladies.....there is hope. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20 always been overweight and never ovulated. It took me 8 yrs to conceive my daughter who is now 13yrs old I always told her she was my miracle baby:) After my daughter I was still not ovulating never had a period and the PCOS was just as bad. I ended up getting a divorce. I am now remarried and happy as can be. So now at the age of 37 I decided at my highest weight of 330lbs to get weight loss surgery done otherwise my husband would never have a chance to have children. I choose the Sleeve due to the issues everyone was having with the band and gastric bypass.
So lets skip ahead once I started losing weight I started to ovulate became pregnant very quickly and the Dr said it is due to all the hormones being stored in my fat cells and when you lose the fat all these hormones are released and that is why you need to be very careful right after surgery. Well on a sad note I did lose that child but once again in 2 months was pregnant we also lost that child was very distraught and emotional so the doctor suggested birth control for a few months to regulate my hormones and take a break and to not have to worry about getting pregnant. So I took his advice. I took birth control for 2 months then stopped taking it and bam once again I was pregnant but once again we lost it. That happened on July 9, 2011. As all you ladies know that PCOS can not be cured weight loss can help with many symptoms such as ovulation. But you still have the high risk of miscarriages. After each loss they have you wait to have a complete cycle before trying again and we always do...but in July we also had a trip to Vegas planned and we ended up getting pregnant AGAIN!!!! I am now just about over all this baby stuff not wanting to go through all the pain and heartache of losing all my children. So my husband and I agreed that if we lost this one we would be done. So now it is December I am now 22weeks along and baby is doing good. We know it is a little girl we will be naming her EMMA.
So now with the sleeve they do not believe that my miscarriages were connected that it is due to the PCOS. I do have to supplement with a Protein shake called Monster Milk due to no weight gain and low calorie intake. My 18 week ultra sound shows her growing right on time except for her stomach and it is a week and a half behind but my Dr believes that is due to the low calorie intake from me. And now that I am drinking this Monster Milk she should be able to catch up.
Sorry so long and please feel free to ask any questions. It has been a long hard road for us but I believe in April 2012 (same month I had my surgery done) we will have out little bundle of joy to Celebrate. Oh and by the way husband said since it is a girl we will have to try one more time:

Awesome! I'm so glad to finally find some people on here around my age. Not that everyone here hasn't been super helpful, I just feel like it's such a different experience going through this when we're young. It's a fairly new procedure for weight - loss and we're going to be living with it for a long, long time!
I agree the non-alcohol thing is difficult. I pretty much told my friends I'd be going into hibernation for a couple of months since most of our activities have revolved around alcohol. I'm going to make it work though and still find ways to go out and have fun until then.
We should definitely all keep in touch since we were sleeved at the same time and will be going through all the stages together.

If I'm laying down or sitting back in a chair, I slowly sit up straight, and either walk if I cannot if someone is nearby rubbing your back upward or lightly patting it (hey it works for baby's) lol and it will subside. Good luck but know we are all in this together ????????

I am 7 days post op today. I have been able to get protien shakes, fluids, Jello, etc in without any issues. I have had no nausea aside from anesthetic wearing off. I just started full fluids today and had 2cups reduced fat Tomato Soup made with Water. I also managed a whole container of Source yogurt...although it is a little thin.
Nothing has made me feel full. I am wondering if they actually cut half of my stomach out, or just took my money and put in 5 fancy cuts to make it look official ????
