HELP....painful gas

2 days post op and experiencing painful gas. Dr can't prescribed anything for gas, tells me to walk. So I am walking every hour. I wanted to ask did anyone else experience this? If so when did gas pains pass?

I didn't have any gas pains but everyone swears by walking and gas x...hope it goes away soon for you!

Specifically GasX strips.

Gas-X made me very sick. That is the only thing so far that has upset my stomach. I am a week and a half out and everything else is awesome. I used a heating pad and walking. Good luck!

Hello. I had my vsg on the 15th of May and had the most horrible gas pain. At that particular time the only thing that helped relieve it was to walk the hospital corridors. I tried gas x strip after being home. They help a small amount but walking is still what I've found most helpful even now. God bless and much success on your journey.

Man oh man I feel you! Gas pain is the worst I have gotten it every day since surgery (8 days post op today) and it sux! If I'm laying down or sitting back in a chair, I slowly sit up straight, and either walk if I cannot if someone is nearby rubbing your back upward or lightly patting it (hey it works for baby's) lol and it will subside. Good luck but know we are all in this together ????????

Warm peppermint tea and walking. This also sounds weird, but getting on all fours and bringing the chest to the ground (like a puppy ready to play) really helps too. I learned that trick several years ago from a nurse when I had a different laparoscopic procedure.

Thanks. Tried gas x plus still walking frequently...but gas pain is still there :-( I'm 6 days post op, so I am hoping this pain will end soon. It hurts so much until I don't want to eat or drink. And when I do my deep breath exercises it hurts worse.
