  1. Depends on how much Fluid gain you had from the surgery. 16 pounds is pretty good...that's 3 pounds a week. Some weeks will be more or less. Make sure you are following your plan and you will succeed. You didn't get overweight overnight and its not gonna all fall off at once!
  2. Good luck! You've got this and we will see you on the other side, saving you a seat!
  3. Yes, the 3 week stall is real. The scale doesn't move but the inches keep going. Mine lasted 9 days. some last longer and some shorter. Just hang in there, your body has been through a major change and has to catch up. It seems to happen to everyone.
  4. Both forms contain whey protein, but whey isolate, which is made from whey concentrate, undergoes further processing which yields an end product with more protein per unit than whey concentrate.
  5. The same condolences from me. It is okay to take some time for yourself I think and mourn your loss. Good for you for getting back to your plan and what a great neighbor to say something to you when you needed it! Good luck on your continued journey!
  6. Just a month out from surgery here and on soft foods. When I finish my 4 ounces and sit back, my husband says with humor, "Full already? Wish I was." lol Yes I am also astounded when I see what people around me re eating just from the viewpoint of how much food there is and how I was just like them and cleaned my plate. I am certainly not judging them but shocked and agree with @@B-52 that if you had showed me how much the difference was on a plate I would have called you crazy. That being said I am very thankful for this opportunity and grateful to be losing the weight I am.
  7. I also don't do more than 30 mg of Protein at one time...the Isopure ready to drink's take me a while to drink as they are so large. I am on soft foods at this point but I like to do a Protein shake for Breakfast as it is fast and on the go. I will probably keep this habit also. Just always read labels and figure that whatever you are consuming you want the most nutrition and protein you can. Good luck!
  8. It is never easy I don't think. We have a lifetime of bad habits to overcome. Maybe next time when it is a bad day or you are stressed you will remember what happened and it will help. I haven't had that day yet but I know it is coming. Just move forward and realize you are also human on this journey. We will all make mistakes along the way.
  9. I wasn't even aware I had a hernia until after surgery when I was told he fixed it. The hernia is pretty common I am told in all of us who are overweight. Definitely mention it and your surgeon will tell you if he wants you to do anything prior to surgery. Good luck!! BTW I am in Georgia also...
  10. Make sure you chew it all the way up and small bites. Eat slowly. Hope that helps!
  11. You may be not drinking enough...are you getting all your fluids in? If you need, you can use Biotene.
  12. My Fitness Pal, both on my PC and my phone. You can scan bar codes to find foods easily and it will sync to your computer and vice versa.
  13. All the above are great suggestions...also something I found out...idk if you are in an area with a Which Wich sandwich shop, but they will make any sandwich they have as a lettuce wrap!
  14. I would say no to them. The best Protein is whey protein isolate because it has a higher concentration of protein. The photo you included lists Whey protein concentrate first so that is the biggest component. Also it is only 15 grams of protein and you can get a bigger bang for your buck from some other Proteins like Premier Protein (30g) or Isopure powder or liquid (40g).
  15. Just beautiful! Congrats on your success! I see why everyone is raving. Thanks for sharing!
  16. What an awesome share!! Thanks for the inspiration! I know you feel amazing and look amazing to boot!! Great job!
  17. The foam comes from the air in the blender. If you use a Blender Bottle it helps...otherwise there is a video on you tube about how to eliminate foam. Google it and try?
  18. drinks on the house per proudgrammy!! You are doing great, keep it up! It really is difficult to get your fluids in at first but it gets better every day. Good luck!!

  24. Agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl. That way you are also following the plan your surgeon and nutritionist want you to be on and not a random one that could be the opposite of what they want you to eat. Good luck!!
