I just had my first preop shake. I have vanilla powder. I tried blending it with Water and ice. It tasted too vanilla and was too foamy. Any ideas of how to make this better? I need to find a way to drink this stuff.

I collected shake recipes from various places (and concocted a few of my own) and uploaded them:

Some of them may have ingredients that you are not permitted, but hopefully you can find something you like and that works for you.

The foam comes from the air in the blender. If you use a Blender Bottle it helps...otherwise there is a video on you tube about how to eliminate foam. Google it and try?

oh yeah the foam -- I use an immersion (hand) blender and it leaves zero foam in the shake.< /p>

I use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder, have since 6 months prior to surgery and still incorporate 1-2 shakes into my day.

A favorite flavor option: SF classic orange drink, a little bit of SF pineapple Crush mixed with Water and 1-2 servings of vanilla powder, depending on how much Water you use. I love Orange pineapple anything!

Vanilla powder, skim milk, and Torani SF Black Cherry syrup-1-2 pumps.

Also, 1/2 chocolate powder, 1/2 vanilla powder, 8 oz. skim milk, 2-4 ozs. brewed coffee, chilled. MOCHA

Vanilla powder, SF strawberry Crush, 16 oz. water.

Chocolate powder and skim milk.

Vanilla and banana extract.

Vanilla and crushed fresh strawberries w/a little strawberry extract.

And, if you're tired of sweet shakes, get some Unjury chicken Soup Protein Powder. Watch the water temp when preparing and add just a touch of chicken bouillon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
