  1. I'm a little over 3 months out and I'm getting bored with all the Protein foods. Where do ya'll get recipes from?
  2. We have all asked ourselves this question, why can't I loose the weight on my own? I think different things contribute to the whys, but for most of us it's because we are hungry all the time, food is everywhere, we like stuff that isn't good for us, we are busy, and food taste good! It's hard to resist foods we want, WLS doesn't give you that choice for a while, if you eat to much or bad it comes back up! You can fill up on very little with WLS. Eat to much fat or sugar and you'll be sick. Food is still everywhere but you start noticing that you can probably find something good for your WLS tummy just about everywhere also. I'm only a little over 3 months out and I've lost 50lbs. I'm just now getting where I feel hungry sometimes, some folks don't get that hunger feeling for much longer. Your taste buds change, I used to hate Greek Yogurt, now it's good! Does it really matter as to why you haven't been successful at losing weight and keeping it off? What matters is you know you can't and you know there is something that can help you, WLS. It forces you to eat the right things, and it forces you to eat very small portions, and your not hungry while doing it. The only way it fails is if you don't learn a new way of life before the maximum effects where off, then you have a good chance of gaining it back. I am hoping that when this time comes I will be 100lbs down and that will give me the motivation to stay on track. What ever you decide, we are here for you and we have all been there! What your feeling is totally normal. I felt so guilty about having the surgery, I felt like a failure and couldn't believe I was spending all that money and missing work because I couldn't keep from stuffing my fat face! Then for a few weeks after surgery I kept asking myself "what have you done" apparently that is a normal feeling also. Now three months later I am so glad I did it! I know for a fact I never would have lost this 50 pounds (and hopefully another 50) without the surgery. Now the next question-- How do I make sure I don't regain the weight? I know I'm worried about it already, I need to prepare myself now while my surgery is working so well. I need to change who I was, because the person I was is still the person I am now. I still love food, I still love the taste of foods that are bad for me, I'm still crazy busy, and food is still everywhere. How do I become someone different from the person I was before surgery? Help! Really worried.

    New foods tried after surgery...

@wvugal Where do you get your recipes?
  4. @@LoseItKacy If you weren't having these feelings you wouldn't be normal. This is big, real big, and permanent! You are changing your life, leaving one you have known and felt safe with. It's like jumping off a roof and hoping you made the right choice when you decided what side of the building to jump off and that someone will catch you! Life will never be the same again! The good thing is it will be better!! Not at first, believe me you will wonder what on Earth you did to yourself at first. It gets better and then it gets fabulous! It's all good. I sat at the hospital the morning of my EGD (required by my surgeon before he would do surgery) just crying like a baby, wondering if I was doing the right thing. Now, just a little over 3 months out I'm sure it was the right thing. I was never going to lose the weight any other way, I was eating myself right into an early grave!

    Chicken, beef, pork, fish?

I'm 2 months out and I do ok with fish and shrimp. chicken if I chew it really well. Had half a slice of turkey bacon, that was ok. Haven't tried beef or pork yet. But 1/2 oz is all I can eat of any of it.

    Tired All The Time!

I'm 8 weeks out as of today also, and I'm in the same boat! I keep being told that the more I do the better I will feel. Have you had your levels checked? I have my appointment next month for that. I just wonder if I'm getting low in something. You are doing great on your weight loss, way to go!!

    Dumping vs frothing

I haven't had dumping syndrome, it is more of a complete body experience, heart racing, sweating, nausea, etc Foamies or frothing is where you vomit this thick egg white consistency and then you feel better. Not sure what causes it exactly but I've had it several times and its awful!

    Discouraged - need to vent

Same here my friend. It's got to be moist and I haven't exactly figured out how to get all my meat moist? Pre-op grease and oil from frying made things moist, what do I use now? I had tilapia last night that even seemed dry to me! It wasn't, but it was still to dry for me! I'm afraid of BBQ sauce or ketchup, to much sugar. It's a crazy rollercoaster that's for sure!
