  1. I'm 2 weeks post op today and I'm not snappy, just kind of sad. I miss my friend, food!
  2. @bellabloom So what does your exercise routine look like?
  3. @ejones8979 I wouldn't risk it, still to soon. I didn't have hiccups before surgery but seem to have them a lot the first couple of weeks after and yes it hurts right after surgery!
  4. yes! Me. PM me your name and I'll send you a fitbit friend invite
  5. Maybe, depends on your insurance. A lot of insurance policies don't care if your borderline, they want you to be a full blown diabetic for it to count.
  6. The liquid diet is hard but very necessary. Hang in there.
  7. I only had gas right after surgery and I don't think it had any smell
  8. My surgery was June 1st and I tried to eat some soft food this weekend and I guess I ate to much or my little pouch just wasn't ready because it felt like it was stuck in my chest. Takes all the fun out of eating when you can't eat but two bites, it's really more trouble than it's worth! I really just want to get back into some sort of normal routine! I'm back at work full time, that helps some. I know I'm not drinking enough but I can only get so much down! I'm getting my two Protein shakes in but not much more than that, and that takes me forever! I knew my life would be different but when will it be some sort of normal again?
  9. @KQ46 I've just started on soft foods and after just a few bits (less than 3 oz) I feel like it's stuck in my chest! That's not a pouch thing right?
  10. but even the biggest losers have stalls that they can't explain and you know they are burning more calories than they are eating. If it were as simple as calories in vs. calories out then I think they would have developed a pill that would accomplish that. It's just not that simple.
  11. Will it be hard to resist all that food? Or will it be easy because you can't get that much down anyhow? I wonder? I love cruising! But I wonder if I would love it as much after the surgery since food was a big enjoyment for me on the cruise? I just don't know what to expect or how I'll feel! I'm on an emotional rollercoaster!
  12. Mine is Monday, that makes me feel better. I don't want to wake up and wonder what the hell did I do to myself! I'm so excited! I just want to get the surgery done and start healing and loosing!
  13. I'm going to take a week and one day off. My surgery is Monday and my follow up appointment is on the 8th so I guess I'll go back the 9th if I feel up to it. I really have to be back by the 12th or there will only be one nurse in the building that does my job and it really takes two.
  14. I'm having the opposite problem, my husband won't eat because I am on liquids only pre op. He is diabetic and really needs to be eating something!
  15. the Sleeve is known for making GERD worse. I only have it occasionally but I'm doing bypass but even then my doc said to take Prilosec 40mg for a few months after surgery.
  16. @TXMissy You probably could have gotten another visit with NUT covered if you asked your doc. I went to doc for my first free consult April 17 and then did my psych eval, endoscopy, heart stress test, NUT apt, and pulmonary function test. Having Surgery June 1st. It all went much faster than I anticipated. I didn't have to do any supervised diet etc. I have BC/BS of Texas
  17. Hi! I'm a June 1st I'm doing the pre-op liquids only this week and it's really really hard!! Can't wait till Monday!
  18. @carolm1965 oh honey I am so sorry you have had all these problems! You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers!
  19. So what is the progression on exercise? When can I start walking? Aerobics? Zumba? Weights? Real core work?
  20. Is BM only once or twice a week normal six months out?
  21. @TLW @red37 So how are ya'll doing??
  22. I like Premier the best so far and it's the cheapest pre-mixed I've found at Walmart and Sams Club. Krogers also has it. I like the chocolate. I haven't been thrilled with any of the Protein drinks so far but haven't been disgusted by any yet either. I ordered some stuff called Whey-licious from Dr. Hale Nutrition for after surgery because I can get a lot of protein in a small volume.
  23. ok that's good info. I am worried about gaining weight and I haven't even had surgery yet! So 10% first month, then another 10% by month three then what?? I have no clue what to expect!
  24. Do you have a CJ Banks? they have petites and cute stuff!
  25. Praying for you both!
