June 14, 201511 yr 1 gram for every inch you are tall minimum. It is harder in those beginning weeks that is why it is so important to use a tracker like my fitness pal to help you track your progress.
June 14, 201511 yr I'm supposed to be eating 85 grams. Its do hard. I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow. Just tried natural peanut butter today. 2 tablespoons is 7 grams. It was so good.
June 14, 201511 yr Author I ask because the scale has not moved in a week. And the dr still has me on full liquids, soups, and soupy oatmeal, and only 1 protein a day. And I know thst people some people are on more solid food.
June 14, 201511 yr Each Dr is different. I'll be 6 weeks out on Tuesday 6/16. I see the nutritionist on Wednesday and she is going to put me on soft foods. But actually I'm already eating just about everything. 4 weeks on full liquids was way too long. I'm eating healthy though! ???? I was at a stall for 10 days. Its annoying, but your scale will start moving don't worry! As of today I'm 36 pounds down. Best of luck to you!
June 14, 201511 yr I'm just completing my 3rd week and it has not been easy getting food in. I've tried moist chicken (Pouch gets uncomfortable if not moist so I eat meat from leg), salmon (went down good), ham (will never eat again), hamburger (nope), shrimp (nope), natural peanut butter or laughing cow cheese on a triscit (awesome), cottage cheese (good). Going to try this week albacore tuna, cod and green beans. Very little amounts of all. Pouch is sensitive. Trying yo get as much protein in as I can, but it all depends on your pouch. It will tell you believe me.
June 15, 201511 yr I just wanted to put out there that if you are a lover of peanut butter, I am really enjoying Matrix Peanut Butter Cookie protein shake. Yum ! Its the only protein shake I actually look forward to. I mix it with unsweetened almond milk.
June 15, 201511 yr @KQ46 I've just started on soft foods and after just a few bits (less than 3 oz) I feel like it's stuck in my chest! That's not a pouch thing right?
June 15, 201511 yr I'm at 18 days out, and have hit the wonderful stall. I have not lost anything in 3 days, am only eating about 45-50g of protein and barely 40 ounces of water a day because I get full so quick, and the water seems to just sit in my pouch sloshing around. I have only lost 12 pounds since my surgery, total 25 and am starting to fall into the doubting curse I have read so much about. Hoping the turn around happens soon.
June 15, 201511 yr Premier Protein has 30g of protein. Add 1/4-1/2 tsp of BP2 (for the chocolate peanut bitterness) I am 8 months out and I have been drinking 2 a day for over a year.
June 15, 201511 yr Itd a pouch thing and it hurts. Have to throw it up. I was told eating to fast and not chewing it up enough. 3 Oz that's good.i don't think I'm getting that much in. Start with 1 Oz. Ex.. chicken I cut into real small pieces. I had some beast meat Saturday. I think I ate too much. It didn't seem like it until pain and burping started...uugh.
June 16, 201511 yr @@TLW I have been in a stall since I hit 10 days post op. Today makes day ten of my stall... I'm hoping it ends sometime soon. Edited June 16, 201511 yr by RNYGal
