  1. Hope this works, here is my BEFORE pic ... can't wait to get my AFTER Picasa Web Albums - Ann - BEFORE
  2. I'm getty rather antsy myself. Last week they called to reschedule, and today I was told I am FOR SURE in the morning. I have to be there at 5:30 a.m. I wasn't nervous last night, because I think part of me was wondering if I would be rescheduled again and I didnt' want to get my hopes up for nothing. Now I AM getting nervous ... I'm sure I will toss and turn all night, and just as I get good asleep the alarm will go off!!!
  3. I can't even begin to imagine how I would feel. I know that I don't handle disappointment too well. I hate that you had to go through all that and feel so let down now.
  4. I have had a few crying spells myself since I started on my journey. My surgery is TOMORROW. I was supposed to be last tuesday and my doctor had an emergency and had to reschedule, and of course, when they called to tell me, I cried! Hopefully by the end of the month we will be well on our way to where we want to be. Good luck to you.

I totally agree with both comments above. Things have changed and even though the methods of our parents and grandparents may have not been the best, the motives had the best intentions and the result was one that made us into more respectful people. I guess the problem was that then, as now, there are always some adults who cross the line and take it too far. It's just a shame that the government has to stick their nose in and set limits for everyone. I feel that it is a personal choice and parenting should be left to the parents.
  6. CONGRATULATIONS! My time will be here SOON...

I was spanked as a child and felt at times that my dad was too rough, and swore I would never spank my kids. Then I had Sean (my son who is 22 now) and he really put me through it. I don't feel like I ever abused him but he was hard to handle and other forms of discipline never worked. All I can say is I'm glad I won't be around all the unruly kids in Massachusettes!!!
  8. Nice to meet you all. This website has been great for me. It's been rough waiting for my surgery date, and it does feel good to know I'm not going through it alone. There are so many things you wonder about and have questions about, and not just the procedure itself, but how it feels afterwards. I've not been the most patient person while waiting for my surgery!!!
  9. yes, we ALL have something to look forward to this week, I know I'M READY. Ready for the new me! (or the OLD me that's been hidden under all this weight!) I am ready to go into the store and see a dress I like and be able to get in it and look good in it. Ready to lay down at night and not wake up with my back hurting and be able to walk up or down the stairs and not have to take one step at a time so my knees won't hurt.
  10. what have you been having? soups? liquid drinks? I would advise some sort of soup that has a good flavor to it. I had oyster stew last night and it was very filling. I gave the oysters to my dog and just had the soup from it. Try to fight it girl, you've come a long way already. I know how hard it is. I gave up smoking at the same time, so I'm doing without smoking AND without solid foods. try to fill up on something that is acceptable to your dieting requirements.
  11. Glad everything went well for you! Now, it is smooth sailing ...
  12. Worth the weight, I know everything will turn out ok for you. Let us know how you are doing!
  13. You and I sound a lot alike - we have come too far to back away now!

  15. well tish, you and I are both part of the November Nymphs AND the Merry Losers! At least we get through this and can start a brand new year for 2008!
  16. Hi, GLAD TO HAVE YOU!
  17. it's not going to be easy, but we can make it through! Just think of the skinny person at the other end of the journey!!!
  18. well, time may fly by, but I've never been good at waiting for things! I have a close friend who says that "I'm not one for defferred gratification". But, YES, looking forward to the NEW ME (or the old me that's been hidden so many years). Good luck to you too! Our day is approaching fast! I'm completely ready.
  19. I've been eating a lot of soups myself, and yogurt and slimfast.
  20. My doctor told me that in earlier years they did the fills earlier and people had erosion. That waiting caused a callous to form from the band rubbing on the stomach and the scar tissue helped so there wouldn't be erosion. This was Dr. S. Scott Davis of Emory bariatrics in Atlanta, GA
  21. I started feeling a lot of pain trying to sleep at night, and my knees bother me. I've also started getting shortness of breath. I have had men tell me that I'm hot, but for some reason I have a hard time keeping a relationship with anyone, so my weight HAS to be somewhat of a factor. But, I'm just not happy with myself. I broke it off with the guy I was seeing and haven't even tried to date again. Right now I want to focus on this surgery and getting me to where I want to be.
  22. You know, I've heard so many different things about what you can and can't eat BEFORE hand, and I hear of some that dont' go on any preop diet. I think the main thing is that your liver doesn't have as many fatty deposits if you are on a preop diet.
  23. too coolcrystal, I just could never see my father sending me ANY kind of communication saying he would support me in anything. although he gives his verbal support, (and verbal instructions as to what I could do better and different!). I too felt like I was sexy even at an overweight stage, but now it's getting TOO far. Inside there is a skinny teenager waiting to be loosed!!!
  24. ours is just the opposite. You cannot roll over sick days, but you can vacation time. They tell you a LOT of things you can and can't do around here, but I get great benefits, and have been on my job for 10 years (going on 11) so I stay.
