I am having HUGE regrets... that I didn't get this done sooner!
It's been a weird day for me and your post made me cry. I feel the same way. "If only I had done this 10 years ago." However there are no "what ifs". There's only now and I am determined to live it to the full.

Big guy needing new mattress......suggestions on what's working for you......
You have to be careful with these "try it out at home for xxx days -- if you don't like it, money back, no questions asked." When the bed is delivered, the delivery men take away the one you have, which would make great good sense if you already know that new item is like Baby Bear's bed.. If you then want to return the new one, what will you sleep on? I have no idea how insistent the delivery people are -- whether it's a strong-arm operation? A scameroo? Buying a bed's a britch. Not a scam or strong arm deal. These guys wouldn't put up with BS. I just know they've been raving about this bed. Also removal of the old mattress is optional, much like when buying appliances. I kept my old fridge when I purchased a new one because my local utility company as a recycle program where they will remove the old appliance for free and pay you for it.

What is your most embarrassing NSV?
My slip hanging and nearly sliding off because it's too big. I eventually ended up pinning the waist band. I n fact I have a few elastic waist skirt that I think I'm going to slit open the waistband and stitch up to get through the winter.

Not feeling well at all
Try 4 ounces of apple juice diluted. Yes it's fast energy but you're just trying to make it to Monday and that may get you over the hump.

Hemp based protien powders? Good liquids¿ will be shopping for my after surgery date tuesday
Your not vegan if your eating dairy and white meats. Not even close. You can buy plan unflavored whey proteins. I buy Isopure unflavored. It's 100% whey isolate with no additives. If you want Hemp protein I would recommends Bob's Red Mills. Their products are non GMO and organic. Manitoba Hemp Protein is another popular one. I haven't used the Bob's Red Mill powder but I have sampled the Manitoba. It's okay. I find that most plant based protein powders can be a little gritty. If you have a nutra bullet or something similar I would recommend using that to blend your shakes.

Have you tried Pinterest beauty/health tricks?
I use cold press virgin coconut oil for a myriad of things; hair and skin being the most prominent. Growing up I've use baking soda in a pinch when we ran out of toothpaste and as a young adult when I ran out of deodorant. I'm also very big on use organic Apple Cider vinegar.

Big guy needing new mattress......suggestions on what's working for you......
Friends of mine purchased a Leesa mattress. Apparently there is a 100 day money back guarantee. They absolutely love it. One is an average sized guy and the other is 6 foot lumberjack build.

Pureed foods struggle.
Get a usb coffee warmer. It will change your life. I pretty much did Soup, broth, ricotta, hummus and yogurt for those 2 weeks. Tried refried Beans. Wasn't a fan. Odd because I love beans.

Vitamins
You should confirm with your nutritionist. Every program has it's preference. Mine allowed chewables but not gummies.

10 weeks out and feeling hungry!
Early on I needed to have 3 meals and at least one planned snack a day. Even though I was eating less I was hungry because I couldn't eat enough at one time. Once I added in an afternoon snack and upped my PPI to 40 mgs I was good to go.

Backpage.com - umm. What?
Please take this seriously. I would contact backpage admin, not this Bella person. Make sure your name and number is not given out. File a police report and change the number. This is quite serious. I have heard of women having creeps and crazies show up at their house to rape, have rough sex, etc... It's far too easy to reverse look up and find someone's address from a phone number.

Lactose Intolerance?

Gas pains?
@@acyum2008 - Keep walking and also raise/lower your arms as if you were lifting hand weights. The motions will help the gas to move out.

regrets....
I swear you have to eat snails pace slow and foods need to be super moist. My NUT had us practice eating pre-op by taking tiny bites and chewing until the food dissolved in your mouth. It was a pain in the rear but it really helped with eating post op. No stuck feeling from eating too fast. What foods were you trying to eat that were getting stuck? You are very early out and likely still healing. Give it time.

Stalling out already...
Stop weighing and stick to the program. Weight loss is not a linear progression. You will gain, lose and stall before you reach goal. The scale is not your friend if it makes you cry. Get your protein and fluids in. Get some regular exercise. It will happen.

Food
My advice is do the mental work now. The people I see having trouble are often the one who can't adjust to having food as their go to for comfort/boredom/etc.... If it really starts to become a challenge, seek help. Support groups, therapy, whatever. The help is out there if you take advantage of it.
-
regrets....
I think a lot of it depends on the person and the attitude. I ate out fairly soon post-op, maybe around the 8 week mark. It just wasn't an issue. I had no difficulties eating slow so I didn't get that stuck feeling. I wasn't envious of what my companion was eating. I ordered what I could eat, ate what I could and had the rest to go.

Backpage.com - umm. What?
Have you read the story of Zola? Google it. It took the internet by storm last week. Backpage.com is a hook up site. Prostitutes post there to advertise themselves. REPORT THIS TO THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY and take all precautions. Contact the site admin to get the page taken down. Change your phone number and email addresses. You need to find out who listed you on that site and press charges. This is more than an annoyance, this could be potentially dangerous.

Coconut oil works for my hair. I use it all the time. I also used it for oil pulling, was kind of "meh" on the results. I prefer just a regular rinse of original Listerine.

PA Newbie....decision has been made!
@@baileyj908 - Where did you end up going?

PA Newbie....decision has been made!
There really are a lot of good options in this area. We have several major hospitals (Temple, UPenn, Jeffereson, Hahaneman, Einstein), most of which are centers of excellence. Then there are also bariatric centers like Barix Clinics. You also have an insurance that I am pretty sure is accepted at these major hospitals. Take your time and check out at least one more before deciding. Ask about pre-op diets, post -op life, support and follow up offered.

PA Newbie....decision has been made!
I'll say this. I saw a specialist at Jefferson and overall was pleased with care and treatment there. However I am biased. I too had my surgery done by Noel Williams at UPenn and could not have had a more pleasant experience. The best part being NO GAS Pains post op because of how he does his leak check. I know for sure they accept most BCBS plans. I also would recommend anyone looking into having WLS to check out at least 2 different programs before deciding. I looked at Temple before deciding on U Penn.

Calcium supplements
That would be based on your bloodwork and/or a follow up bone density scan. We all have different body makeup and you would be best to add or drop supplements and vitamins based on what your body is demonstrating a need or deficit for.
