  1. Your nutritionist is being paid for you to pester her. Why not review the things you love/miss with her and ask for her recommendations? If it's not something you can have she offer an alternative. I had shredded cheese from week 3 no issues.
  2. @@Dub - That is normal. My first few weeks I needed a mid day nap most days. That's your body recuperating from major surgery. I went with it and even started planning for it in my day. However that's different than having no energy or being weak.
  3. Are you on no vitamins or supplements at all?
  4. The TL:DR generation is going to be the death of us all. These are the people who don't read their handouts, don't ask their doctors or nutritionist questions and could google to save their lives. They get offended when you suggest they do a search on these forums, call their doctors/nutritionist or heaven forbid use google. They are almost always the ones complaining about not losing and say something like, "I'm following the program but cheated a little". They ask for help and then strike down every suggestion you make as "too hard/inconvenient/expensive/etc... I just don't get it.
  5. I had no gas pains at all. I went in on Thursday. Walked in recovery and throughout my hospital stay. Was sent home on Saturday. I'll admit I had quite a bit of flatulence on Sunday, but no pain. Monday had my first BM. Was fine after that. Regular BM's and no issues with walking or gas. Not everyone gets gas pains. I had the same surgeon as @SleevyWonder. (Noel Williams @ UPenn) He uses the robot assist. I wonder if there is something in his technique that his patients don't experience painful gas.
  6. Are you taking a PPI? That can greatly help with the gas, but keep in mind gas is part of the process. Belching is normal. Even over a year out I belch after eating, sometimes rather loudly. This process will not go quickly if you do not start it.
  7. I am on a fixed income. Weekly food planning makes that easier and cheaper. It doesn't have to be fancy. In fact keeping it simple is best. Crock pot meals. You can add Protein powder to overnight oats. I buy CVS brand Protein Powder, pretty inexpensive. I also buy plain rolled oats instead of the packets with all the additives. 1 Tbsp of nut butter with apple slices is a good snack. Pinterest had good recipes, Eggface also has good recipes.
  8. It's the phone app glitching. You might try clearing your cache but if it's showing correctly on desktop, I wouldn't worry.
  9. Don't like to cook? Buy precooked chicken breast. Stay away from the chocolate and PLAN nutritious Snacks instead. Sit down on a Saturday or Sunday and plan out your eating for the week. Then make sure you have the foods you need. You are relearning to eat. Spur of the moment unplanned eating is not going to help.
  10. I would encourage her to appeal if she is serious about having WLS and then I would leave it alone unless she initiates the conversation. That includes sharing how much you have loss, etc...She has to come to terms with wanting this for herself and actively doing something about it. In the meantime you don't want to make it seem like you are bragging. Let's face it we all can go a little nuts when we finally start losing. We want to call everyone everytime we lose a pound. However she was your friend before you had surgery and you managed to share and talk abut a wide variety of things. Save your victories for here and people who won't feel bad about about hearing you frequently talk about weight loss. Pretty soon your success will be obvious anyway.
  11. Ditto. I was told a bath, pool, etc... was fine once the incisions had scabbed over.
  12. IIRC I think the biggest concern was they are not whey isolates.
  13. Would the mesh show up on a scan of some sort. Xray or cat scan perhaps?
  14. How does it make you feel? Have your called your doctor? Your nutritionist? Not eating delays your healing and your weight loss.
  15. It's perfectly normal this soon after surgery. I was pretty active post op but needed a nap each day for the first few weeks. Just listen to your body and take the rest as needed.
  16. I had uterine cancer 10 years ago. I understand that feeling. I think it lurked in the back of my mind until I hit the 5 year mark. From what my doctor says its rare that he cannot perform surgery. Follow your doctor's instructions and you should be fine.
  17. call your program or doctor
  18. Call your NUT that what she gets paid for.
  19. Neither is pleasant. Thankfully I have only heard of them and not experienced them first hand. Slimming is when you eat too fast and something about the food going too fast into a small space causes your tummy to back up and it displaces your saliva with the food so the saliva comes back up creating a slimy sensation. Also called the foamies. Dumping is when the food sugars and/or fat are too much for your body to handle and you get a version of the runs. Dumping is rare for sleevers. Bypass patients typically get it because of how their bodies are rerouted and the malabsorption that comes with it. The worse I have experienced from eating to fast was a horrible tummy ache that took hours to go away. That was all the reminder I ever need.
  20. You are fine, do not compare yourself to others and do not cheat on yourself. Get in your Protein and fluids & exercise.
  21. Good for you being persistent and patient. I hope all goes well for you! Thanks for sharing your experiences.
  22. I had that. They finally unhooked it because I wasn't suing it.
  23. If it's a chain restaurant MFP likely has listings for it. 10,000 step is recommended activity level for an able body person. Many wear fitness trackers to reminds themselves to move.
  24. I never vomited, just got a really bad tummy ache for a bit. Now you know. Less is more.
