Anyone else with high BMI to start?
My all time high BMI was 73. When I look at before and after pictures I am amazed that I didn't see how big I had gotten. Still a long way to go, but glad to see the scale moving in the right direction.

Sleevers over 300lbs?
I used to joke there was getting to be too much of me to love. @@apeters9284 - Congrats on your eight loss. My highest weight was 414, I was 412 DOS. I had no pre-op diet or med supervised 6mth diet. I'm down 114 but I'm short so I still have a ways to go. I like hearing how others are fairing year 2. I'll admit I had a bit of hiccup because I got in my head head thinking about having another year before I am close to goal. Had to do some readjusting. I'm attending the support group tomorrow and I changed up my workout routine a little.

Replace bad addictions with healthy addiction!
I did the same thing. Now I'm trying to take it down a notch and incorporate being active into my everyday like. I now aim for 4 -6 days a week instead, but also aim to hit at 8 -12 k on my activity tracker each day. That means doing the usual things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking farther away in the parking lot, etc...

Embarrassing Question - Managing Enuresis in the Hospital?
I have bladder frequency. I was up so much they finally just unhooked my IV. I was already drinking & I wasn't using the pain pump so I didn't need it. They left the port in just in case. On a positive note, I got in plenty of walking with all the back & forth to the bathroom. ????

Purée purée purée
Try using an app like lose it or my fitness pal. Logging your foods is the best way to keep track of how you are eating. I use MFP and start each morning by planning what I will eat for the day. In the evening I review, add/subtract what I actually ate. It's been an invaluable tool for me

3 1/2 months and I'm eating like I used to~
STOP You have to make new reactions/responses. It it makes a difference write them down. Seriously, make a list of 5 things you can do other than eat. The next time you get the impulse to eat when you shouldn't use you list. You have this new tool and you are in the honeymoon phase where key weight loss can happen if you let it. If it becomes too much of a problem, it may be time to explore therapy and figure out why you are doing this to yourself.

Help!
I never had the gurgling and the only time I experienced tightness was if I ate too fast. I'm 14mths out and I eat between 3/4 and 1 cup depending on the food. I am simply no longer interested in large quantities of food.

My Revision - it's complicated :)
The post is how I intended. There a link back to this post on another thread for a reader giving difficulties. I was just letting the OP know I linked back to this post.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?
This post could not have come at a better time. I've been struggling emotionally a bit. It's weird because I knew and could identify the triggers, and I made plans for support, but it was still a bit of a battle. So this morning I tried a new workout class at the gym. I took advantage of being in a new workout room and looked at my body. Still a large woman, but I had a neck and an identifiable waistline. The weight is coming off strangely. I am a solid 18 up top and 20 - 22 down below. My hips & thighs are large and I will likely need to have skin surgery when I hit goal. Nevertheless, I made it through the entire workout class. Taking that frank look at myself helped me see how far I had come and made me acknowledge how far I have to go. It strengthened my resolve to stay the course. I'm still planning to attend the support group on Saturday, but I just feel a renewed sense of "I can do this."

Will I be able to go back to work in 5 days?
There is no guarantee. You have to think about how you have recovered from illnesses in the past. I am retired but I had a really easy surgical experience. I could have returned to work in 5 days no problem. However, there are others who needed weeks to recuperate before returning to work. If it's a desk job that you can fake your way through for 2 days, I'd chance it. Just be honest with yourself and your own limitations.

Eating too much, still hungry, stalled
Unless your doctor specifically says so, it's fluids not water. I use 1 20 ounce bottle of Isopure split into 4 parts & mixed with water in my 24 ounce water bottle. So I'm actually drinking 52 ounces of water and 20 ounces of Isopure in addition to any fluids I may get from tea, coffee or soup. The goal is to not get dehydrated, flush your kidneys & help your bowels function better. Since the Isopure also contains 40 gems of protein it helps me hit my protein goal as well. I also found that eating more dense foods helped. For example oatmeal or grits for breakfast stuck with me more even if it was only a quarter cup. Lentil soup with veg crumbles was more filling than a veg soup. Adding yogurt to my protein shake & even a tbsp of almond butter. In small quantities these foods stuck with me better.

Calling Vegan BariatricPal Members: Which Protein Powder Do You Use?
I mostly buy Kind or Larabars. All the Kind and some of the Larabars are vegan. Overall I'm not a big protein bar gal

Calling Vegan BariatricPal Members: Which Protein Powder Do You Use?
I'm looking for minimal ingredients. I like pea protein but hemp is a little higher in protein. No gmo's is a plus. Orgain RTD is available in Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc... I've seen the Orgain powder in GNC & Vitamin Shoppe. Whole Foods has a wide variety of vegan powders ( Vega, Raw, Biochem). I've seen hemp hearts sold in Target. I'm interested in trying Bobs Red Mill powders but as far as I can tell only sold on their website

Purée purée purée
I did yogurt with a small amount of soft fruit like peaches, cottage cheese, hummus, ricotta made up like the filling for stuffed shells. I never did mashed potatoes but I did grits with a little protein powder added. I tried to make sure everything I had contained some protein.

Purée purée purée
As long as you need. The point is to eat slow in the beginning so you do not upset your tummy. Try counting to 20 & see if that works.

Surgery Tore My Throat UP!
@@ssflbelle - you may not have pain. I had pain & a cough for two weeks after bring intubated when I was placed in a medical coma and no issues at all after my sleeve surgery.

Tiereeeeeed. Zzzzzzzzz
This is what made me double up. Once I started adding plain greek yogurt to my shakes my protein intake went up. ½cup is 13gms of protein. It makes life easier.

One of my biggest fears since I had surgery is..
Slider foods are typically over processed foods with little to no nutritional benefit that can be easily consumed. Noodles are my slider food. I can eat veg lo mein (a used to be favorite food) and not feel much restriction so I avoid it like the plague.

Embarrassing Question - Managing Enuresis in the Hospital?
Let me reiterate. They have seen everything. If you make them aware of the issue it will make things easier for everyone all around.

Regretting it already..(day 1)
Sorry you feel so bad, but it's very important you drink. Getting dehydrated will delay your healing and prolong your pain. Here's hoping tomorrow is a bit better.

I f*****g love protein shakes!
I'm not pumpkin spice crazy like a lot of the US, but I do like pumpkin. I've also used baked sweet potato in a Protein drink. I find I prefer raw cacao powder over flavored protein Protein Powder though.

I f*****g love protein shakes!
I like playing around and creating healthy, low cal concoctions. In fact, I have some pumpkin puree so I may be making pumpkin drinks next week.

Pre op diet
I think the issue is you are not getting good nutrition. What does your evening meal consist of? Are you drinking Water? How much? Barely eating is not a good thing.
