  1. Good luck, I hope your recovery goes smoothly.
  2. Good luck and a speedy recovery to you both!
  3. Tonight or wait until tomorrow? It's probably close enough to try it.
  4. You have done well, congratulations!
  5. Thank you for that positive post, and congratulations on your accomplishments!
  6. @@KateP Mine too! Might need to try working those pec's as lisacaron mentioned above.
  7. Not a single one. Ditto Miss Mac re: what surgeon said about removing as much gas as possible before closing.
  8. I was complaining about slow weight loss to my surgeon at my three month check up and he said it may take me a year to lose the amount I want to. He said that the more you have to lose( i.e. higher BMI) the faster you lose initially, the lower your BMI you might lose a little more slowly. Don't get discouraged, if you follow your program you will lose.
  9. pureed foods was the hardest phase for me. You may have to be a little cautious trying new things. Maybe just a couple bites until you know your stomach can handle it. I eventually went back to full liquid plus some Soups, my stomach was just too unhappy. It does get better and a lot more quickly than you would think.
  10. I have lost 40 pounds, 30 post-op. I feel great, have a lot of energy and am really happy. Just cleared by dietician for fruits, nuts, seeds, skins etc., now I have no restrictions ( other than protein first) - had a strawberry today, so good!
  11. I am on 2 Flintstones a day, and since I actually like them ( a kid at heart?) I asked if I could be on them forever and my dietician said that would be fine.
  12. I hate grocery shopping now as well. Food is not the draw it once was, and as those above mentioned , I find everything I need around the perimeter too. On the other hand it doesn't take me nearly as long to shop!
  13. Last month I only lost 6.6 pounds. I just saw my dietician today for my three month check-up and she was not unhappy about that paltry amount at all. I, of course, was feeling slightly depressed about it. I think you will find our bodies all seem to lose at their own rate and you just need to have faith that if you are following the program you will lose it eventually. Lipstick lady is correct in that we all wish the weight would come off quickly, it's not a miracle cure and we just need to be patient with ourselves.
  14. Good luck on your journey- your WLS date will be here before you know it. Those 29 pounds are just the start. These months before seem to drag by, and then suddenly your surgery date is here.
  15. It looks perfect on you! What a very happy NSV, great work!
  16. A two and a half month plateau must be very discouraging. Good for you for being persistent with your plan, as they say, persistence pays. Congratulations!
  17. Now that the weather is better up north, my dog and I get out for a 5 mile walk almost everyday. This does wonders for the attitude, lots of time for thinking, counting blessings. On the snacking issue, a big deterrent for me is having to write it in my food journal. I am the only one that sees it but I hate having to write down that I ate something stupid.
  18. A lot to be happy about. Congratulations on your weight loss and improved health!
  19. Runny nose, hiccups, burping are all part of my full signals, some times separately, sometimes all together !
  20. Wow! You are doing well. Do you feel better? Congratulations on your weight loss.
  21. I had a stall at about two weeks out that lasted two weeks. I think your body is just adjusting to the change. From your post it sounds like you are doing well following your diet progression, so as people always say on this forum, follow the program and you will lose the weight. Keep up the good work and try to be patient with your body. My body has this strange pattern of losing two pounds, then I go up one pound for a few days and then down two pounds again, crazy but I'm getting used to it.
  22. The only thing to improve on those yellow sandals would be for the wearer to sashay around in them! Have fun!
  23. I've experienced the same nose running issue when eating, I always carry a tissue in my pocket now. What a strange thing!
  24. You have done well, looking fantastic!
