Hello, my name is Jane, and I am.....a scale junkie :/
I weigh myself every morning. I think I like to torture myself, as I am turning out to be a slow loser. I only lost 6.6 lbs. last month and so far this month 4.2 lbs ( can I please lose at least one more by Monday?). I will be 4 mos. post op on 6/3.

My naked kitty! Pics inside!
Hmmmm. I wasn't sure what a naked kitty was. Now that I've seen one I'll have to admit they are fascinatingly ugly, and yes, I am a girl. @@LipstickLady, ever the provocateur!

Chinese food you eat
I bought a quart of take out sesame chicken. So good! I had 5 meals and a snack from it! I think I like it too much- it could turn into something dangerous for me.

No fluids with food
I was advised 15-30 min. before eating and 30 min. after. The 15 min. before is pretty easy to follow for me, so if I need a drink and I need to eat the drink goes first, then I only have to wait 15 min. to eat.

The Waiting Game
I went to an information meeting in September and had surgery in February. One of my first appointments in the hoop jumping phase was the dietician. She had me eliminate all carbonated beverages, caffeine, eating on smaller plates, no eating while watching television, waiting between bites( put your fork down) etc., etc, etc. It really prepared me for life after surgery. So think of this time as a training period. It actually goes by quickly.

How long do you need to wait to eat almonds or peanuts?
I also had to wait 3 months before eating nuts, seeds, skins, membranes.

How did it feel?
My first thought was to thank God that I had survived and simultaneously relief that the surgery was over. My next thought was about how nauseated I was, which I expected since that is how I react to general anesthesia, but assumed they would manage it better. They soon had that under control though.

hiatal Hernia
I have read on this forum of many people that had their Hiatal hernia repaired at the same time as their sleeve surgery. I don't think the Hiatal hernia precludes the VSG surgery.

Help please!
Did you truly eat six pieces of chicken? How is that even possible? I couldn't eat that much and I am 3 1/2 months post op, I'm not sure people even farther out from surgery could consume that much. As Kindle said you need to be very careful this close to surgery that you don't injure your staple line, the complications from that would be terrible.

10 Days Post - Doctor says I'm exceeding expectations!
Well, for a "ramble"(your words) that was quite positive. You are doing well.

6 months post op, how lost?
@@nprcowboy Wow, good to hear from you and you sound so positive after all your complications! I really feared for your life for a while. You have done well! I am three and a half months out and just hit wonderland yesterday. That seems like a milestone. I think losinghope15 could use some of your wisdom from all of your post-op experiences.
