  1. This! I love having a hand-held shower head.
  2. Try eating more slowly, take smaller bites, and pre-measure your portions. Hiccups are one of the ways I know I have overeaten.
  3. Best of luck! See you on the other side!
  4. Frankly, there is not nearly enough information here to even make an educated guess. Is it possible? Yes. Is it probable? Probably not. If you are not comfortable asking, then maybe consider talking to a counselor or therapist about your concerns. And/or talk to close friends who know you well and ask what they think. There are so many reasons why relationships don't work, I doubt seriously that there is one reason. Maybe your picker is off? Maybe the timing isn't right? Maybe you just haven't yet met the right person? Personally, I don't think it ever hurts to do some self-examination and soul searching. Do you know what you even want in a relationship? Are you prepared for that kind of a relationship if it landed in your lap? Personally, I know that I am going to have to do a LOT of internal work before I will be willing to even date. Best of luck. Let us know how it is going.
  5. It is probably because you are eating "800 or so calories" and didn't even mention your Protein. You are probably not eating enough for your exercise intensity. What is your protein target? Are you getting at least that much every day? Are you getting at least 64 oz of Fluid a day? Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Are you avoiding added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches, and fried foods? Have you talked to your NUT about your concerns? If you are exercising every day are you mixing up your exercise and doing different things? Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  6. Here it is: Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall If you are working out intensely. Then you will want to talk to your NUT. At under 1000 calories, you may need more calories.
  7. Thank you for responding so quickly, I'll work harder at getting in the fluids & protein, getting in more calories will be really tough since I fill up so quickly and only eat about 3-4x a day. Sent from my SGH-M819N using the BariatricPal App If you only eat three or four times a day and are not reaching your protein targets then it sounds like you need to eat more frequently.
  8. My suggestion: Stay off the scale until you are able to get in your daily fluid and protein requirements and get your calories up. It is critical for healing and weight loss that you consume enough protein and fluids. Until then, it really doesn't matter what the numbers on the scale are. 9. I agree. I think popcorn is one of the worst choices you could make at three weeks post-op. If you need to crunch something, try sugar-free Popsicle or some crushed ice.
  10. I had grilled salmon when I was on soft foods and hibachi shrimp and scallops within the first month.
  11. Yes. Not only is it normal, it is expected.
  12. Yes, it is normal. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. We all experience stalls, and almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  13. I was prescribed folic acid (I think) and I got the rest of my vitamins through drugstore.com. Try taking your list to your local Pharmacy and ask your pharmacist to help you find the vitamins that meet your requirements.
  14. To help with skin sag, stay hydrated, take your Vitamins, eat Protein and nutritious food, and keep your skin moisturized (try a lotion or oil with Vitamin E -- I like Palmer's cocoa oil and cocoa butter, it helps with scars, too). It won't eliminate it, but may help. I swim and do crunches, etc. in the pool.
  15. I totally understand but I'm not a person who gives them a few hours and then starts complains it's been over a month and I've sent two emails and called once. I think a over a month is more then enough time to get back to a person. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App If it has been over a month then you can definitely call and/or stop by the office. This is where polite persistence comes in.
  16. Yes, they can be very busy. I know my insurance coordinator set blocks of time to return calls, etc. She was almost never instantly available. If she dropped everything every time someone called or emailed she would have never gotten everything processed. This whole process takes perseverance, polite persistence, but most of all patience.
  17. Can you eat Greek yogurt? Cottage cheese? Tuna? You just may need to eat more frequently if you can't get enough in. Low Protein and low Water will have an impact on your weight loss. I suggest that it is probably a very good idea to stay off the scale until you are able to get your protein and fluids up. Until you do so, as far as I am concerned, the numbers on the scale are meaningless.
  18. As long as a personal trainer doesn't follow the practices of The Biggest Losser then I would agree that MOST personal trainers should be able to work with the morbidly obese. This brings to mind a recent reality show where they had trainers gain weight so that they would know how hard it is to work out when you are overweight, out of shape, and obese. It was quite interesting to see how many of their preconceived ideas were altered. If someone hasn't experienced obesity first-hand, then they better be very empathetic and good listeners in my book.

  20. This sounds like a great conversation to have with your surgeon and NUT. Have you already had your one-year follow up?

  22. Yes, unless it is a dire emergency! I have no problem with emergency massages!
  23. Very cool! I am glad to see that they counseled you to increase your calories in order to increase your metabolism.
  24. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls and slow downs. We all stall and most of us experience our first stall about three weeks post-op.
