I too am banded and have yet to turn the hunger off. In fact just today I was thinking I should get another fill because I'm hungry all the time! I have 1.5 cc in the band but an hour or two after eating a meal - I'm hungry again - its sucks because I'm really trying to stick to the 3 meals a day! I eat until I am "satisfied" at least thats what I think I'm doing - the hunger pains go away and I've got something in my belly and I ate about a cup of food, but then 2 hours later I'm hungry again! I hope it won't be like this forever - I have ok restriction - I could use just a little more fill, but I really should be ok where I am at - so its got me a little worried.
  2. thanks for lifting me up - sometimes its soo easy to forget how sexy we really are - I like to shake my naked ass in the mirror to the radio in my bathroom and then I giggle thinking about what other people do in the privacy of their own bathrooms - it makes me feel sexy even though I know I look silly
  3. www.eharmony.com - it's Christian based and you take this big long quiz about yourself and they match you only with others who would be compatible and its all technical - but I know of some who have really good luck with it - in fact I was doing it for a month and having good luck until I met my boyfriend and if for some reason him and I don't work out I'll do it again - they match you based on the major things that successful realtionships need - and you can set up your own regional area on how far you want to travel etc. I just did a local region that gave me matches up to 150 miles around my area. Its kind of expensive - but well worth it!
  4. yes i watch it, but after last nights episodes where the guy worked his ass off all week and didn't lose anything - I don't like how they do the weigh in - that dude definately was building some major muscle mass but because he didn't LOSE weight it hurt the team - the show is heart breaking how I still feel they are hurting themselves mentally - that guy was soooo heart broken - and I just wanted to pick him up and say yea but look at you! you could see the defintiion of muscle he was gaining - i just think they don't judge it right by weigh in only - what about body fat %'s and lost inches etc - there's just so much that goes into getting healthy besides just getting the pounds off - that said I will still watch it - I just wish they'd judge it differently
  5. I liked Dr. Hoehn too but he didn't accept MX patients - I love Dr. Malley too - he is great - can't go wrong either way - for some reason I just didn't get a good vibe from the female doc Dr. Waniesky - but that was just a personal vibe - not anything else. best of luck to you all - keep us updated!
  6. i was self pay - and was scheduled within 2 weeks of first inquiry with the surgeon
  7. i haven't had mine kick in yet either - still waiting
  8. i have no problem with celebs wanting to keep their lapband a secret - i do have a problem with them lying and endorsing other things as the secret of their weight loss - and making millions think they can do it that way too. I too took metabo-life for 18months - i think i had a mild heart attack on it - I lost 40lbs and gained 63lbs back - i still have a slight chest pain every once in a while that I think was due to the extended use of metabolife because that's when it would happen - one time it was really bad - bad enough I had to leave a softball game in high school because of it - it went away after a few hours - i should have gone to the ER but i was 18 I didn't think it was anything serious - now i'm not so sure and wonder what long term side effects I have now its 6 years later.
  9. wow very nice work - i have a question off topic chris - but how do you feel with your restriction now that you've reached the max in your band?
  10. I swear Anna Nicole Smith had to of .........and it wasn't all TRIMSPA BABY.......but you don't see any scars.
  11. The thinnest of my adult life was when I was 18 at 230lbs and I was happy there which is the reason for my mini-goal being 230lbs - I was pretty atheletic and a tad muscular so if I can only make it to there I would be happy - if I can make it to 200lb that would be even better - and if I can strive to make 170 - well it depends on how I look and how my body acts but I'm thinking 200 might be perfect - I'll have to wait and see but the ultimate goal would be 170 that way I have room to play with in the future for pregnancy etc. According to those dr. charts I'm supposed to be like 120 but I would look completely anorexic at that - it would be ridiculous as when I was thinner I was so much more active and had a lot of muscle mass - can't wait to get there again.
  12. I'm still in training - but plan on making the 2006 team
  13. omg these are all great! i'm laughing so hard!!! keep em comin!
  14. OMG delarla - I would have diedddddddddddd - please tell me what did you do what did you say?????????? Come on don't leave us hanging!!
  15. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS EVERYBODY..............CHECK OUT MY WEIGHT TICKER...........YEA THAT'S RIGHT LADIES - I JUST FOUND OUT I DROPPED 5 LBS SINCE MY LAST FILL 7 WEEKS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please read my post entiteled "This is WHat's Goin ON" to find out there! So I actually called and cancelled my small fill apt. this morning since I've at least got the scales moving now - so I'm going to try workin this band some more. By the way for whoever's trying to count up my pounds and weeks out - you can't kick me out of this club yet!! HAHAHA - don't think you can get rid of me that easily as I'm 21 weeks post op with a probable 14 lb loss so I'm still under the requirements for the club. I'm just soooo excited - this is my first real loss since banded - yea I had the original 8lb loss after surgery - gained back 4lbs before my first fill and have been absolutely fighting to get back off that 4lbs I had gained back so this is now my first real 5lb loss!!! Let's celebrate!
  16. So I've been facing inner turmoil over to fill or not to fill for my apt. this Weds - you see I have ok restriction but could use a slight tweek of .2 or .3 more and my Dr. had advised me of that at my last over-fill. Well I have nothing to chart my actual progress because I haven't kept any scales at my house since surgery and had only been documenting my weight loss from the Dr.'s scale each time I go. Since I didn't know if I was losing close to 1lb a week or not I decided it was time to break down and buy some scales. So I go to Walmart this morning and pick out a nice digital scale that also measure body fat % - I thought cool I can track both. I get it all set up and running according to the manual and I weigh myself but everytime I try to do the body fat % it would read 000000 and then ERROR before powering off. I tried this at least 10 times and 10 different ways seeing if it had something to do with the feet being positioned correctly on the sensors....no luck.....so the scale was probably saying oooooohhhhhhh I can't calculate that high - got to power down nowwwwwwwww......can't take the pain..........LOL. Even though there were not restrictions noted anywhere in the manual or on the box - at the time of my surgery I had 53% body fat - surely you would think that the scale would register that high - but oh well. So in the morning I'm returning it for a different model and this one was kinda pricey so I'm not going to pay for the extra function if it won't work properly for me. But onto the exciting news - during the 10 weighs trying to get it to work properly - the lowest weight I registered was 278 - and the highest was 280 - it fluctuated and didn't seem to be exactly accurate each time.......well regardless even using the 280 figure means........drum rollll please.......I HAVE LOST 5LBS!!!!! THIS IS HUGEEEE FOR ME!!! IT'S THE BIGGEST WEIGHT LOSS I'VE HAD CONSECUTIVELY SINCE BEING BANDED!!! FINALLY I AM ON MY WEIGH!!!!!!!!!!! So in 7 weeks since my last fill I lost at the least 5lbs. - I can't believe it - I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for something and now it happened! I went ahead and cancelled my fill apt. for Weds as it seems I've got the scales at least movin now - now I just need to start workin that band over real good in the mean time. I've been so excited all day about finally changing my weight ticker - so make sure to take a good look! I am 5lbs thinner today! YEA!!!! AND MY BMI DROPPED 1 PT!!!
  17. oh gross! that reminds me of my highschool sweetheart one time - we were 15 years old and my sister took us out to a dinner and a movie - well we were making out in the back seat of her chevy Citation while she was out of the car - well we were really going at it hot and heavy when he burped write in my open mouth! Talk about gross!!!!!!! It was pretty nasty - but what could you do but laugh it off??? I still remember the taste & smell - and its still disgusting! Couldn't he have excused himself for just a moment??? My tounge would have rather of waited
  18. yes I pay cash for fills also that's why i was thinking of holding off since i could use that money to go get my hair & nails done, but then I thought no I need to put my band first and I think I need a tweak to get this to optimum level so I think I might go ahead and do it
  19. i lost 8lbs immediately after surgery - and gained back 4lbs before my first fill 7 weeks afterward - it happens - so if it happens - don't freak out - just go get your fill
  20. this is very true - sometimes I like to go back into old thread to see what's around
  21. hmmm interesting - i haven't gone to look for one yet - but i will try to find a sensitive one
  22. Going for a slight tweak in my band this weds. oct. 19 - thinking maybe .2 or .3 - although maybe i should cancel it - i have ok restriction - I don't keep scales in the house - but i have noticied a NSV - my shirts are getting looser!! Not my pants yet - but yes my shirts are definately a little looser. i guess I should find buy a scale tomorrow to see exactly how much i've lost since my last one - and then I should cancel ? What do you think?
