  1. I do the SlimFast High Protein which have 15g of protein in each - I've had the strawberry & vanilla - both very good - didn't notice any "protein" flavor particularly. I also love the pb crunch snack bars which I eat in place of candy bars as they give me my pb & choc fix yet have vitamins in it also. I also like there pb granola high protein meal bars. These are the products I use from them and like them very much.
  2. Cheeseburger in the car = puked all over myself - have not had one since Mozzerella Stick at restaurant = puking in the bathroom - it didn't hurt - I just knew it wasn't going down and nothing was getting past it - have not had one since. General Tso's chicken - no matter what I could not get it down - I chewed and chewed but I think the sticky sauce is what does it because I have no problems with any other chicken. Will never attempt this as I wasted a $15 plate of chinese food. Plain Buttered Roll = puking in the bathroom - ate it too fast cuz i was too hungry - my fault - haven't done it since, but still enjoy breads.
  3. stress definately tightens me up and yes I just noticed this past week that I am at a great level of restriction since I just got a new fill but I'm afraid it will go away next week when I start my period. I didn't mean to time my fill the week before my period, but it was the only time he could get me in - so right now I'm at perfect restriction but once my period comes and goes I'm afraid so will my restriction as I felt tighter than usual just before my fill.
  4. i too rarely feel "full" since being banded and am at good restriction with my fills and its not "head hunger" either - tod you pretty much summed it up - eat till you are no longer hungry. I eat until I feel I've had enough - but that's only because the band tells me to stop even though I think I can eat more. I just go with it and wait till my next meal or if I'm really really hungry I grab a snack to tide me over and it will - but feeling full? to me feeling full is that comfortable feeling - not sick full - but comfortably full - I never get that with being banded - I only get to eat to take away the hunger - but I doubt I will ever get that full feeling again.
  5. Dr. Sanchez is wonderful - he owns his own private guesthouse where you stay before & after your surgery and one day at the hospital he practices at- his staff is wonderful and they are really on top of everything. Also Santa Engracia hospital is soo clean and updated - they are in Montterrey so everything is really "Americanized" in that area.
  6. at my Dr.s office they ask you to take off shoes and any heavy clothing like I had a heavy sweater jacket on - now I weighed at my dr's. office and then went immediately home without eating or drinking to see how different my scales are at home and between my docs and mine there is a 3lb difference. At home I weigh myself right after going potty in the morning - naked w/ no shoes.
  7. OMG - that is sooo funny!!!!! On this one excercise - I think its called child's play or something child - its where your down on your knees and stretch forward as far as you can - well that's not very far when your belly is resting on your knees - then the lady says if you have a belly make room for it by spreading your knees and letting your belly rest in between - then my knees were all stretched out spread eagle to make room for my belly - and I just laughed - yet the pose was much more comfortable and I could breathe! On a different note - my boyfriend nearly killed me today! He wanted to go walk at the local cemetary which has a lot of nice walking paths except that he tried to kill me before we even got into the cemetary! There is this huggggeeeee hill that you have to walk up to get there - and after that I was damn near done - he didn't even stop for a break and my lungs were burning so bad - I kept on truckin - I don't know how because the rest of the walk I was trying to recover from the big ass hill! We walked around it 3 times and there were hills all over - now I don't mind walking - but I hate hills! That's when your legs get so heavy I felt like I couldn't go on! I even thought about telling him to do the last lap without me but I continued on - now after I say all of this my boyfriend is a skinny bastard and has no problem with physical excercises where I struggle with just an hour walk like today. He gets home and I hear him say his lungs didn't even hurt and he didn't even break a sweat - where I am trying to cover up that I damn near had a heart attack LOL - I was trying to bitch about it to my best friend about how he tried to kill me and my best friend told me I just needed to get over it - LOL - I know my boyfriend is trying to help - but damn my life flashed before my eyes today as I climbed that big hill all huffin and puffin
  8. You all are very welcome - but please please please - post back after you do the workout because I'm curious to see what others think of it or I will hunt you down and ask if you don't come back to report Toodles!
  9. I go in for my 3rd fill tomorrow with Dr. Malley - hoping this one will be the sweet spot as last time he gave me a total of 2cc's and it was too much so he took out .5cc leaving me with 1.5cc total - he let me know I might have to come back in to tweek it as that might have been too much to take out but he'd rather error on the side of caution. At least I know at 2cc's I was too tight and 1.5cc's I'm not tight enough - so I'm hoping he'll give .3cc or .4cc - I'll keep ya posted
  10. wow - i've been a member here as long as you have johnnyreno and I haven't had one bit of problem - never had a deleted or edited post - I assume as long as you are being fair and respectful why would the moderators delete posts?
  11. Well I hope this DVD isn't too slow for you - as I said it is a very nice workout but very geared towards beginners - you might be a little more advanced if your taking yoga classes Give it a try - check back here and let me know what you think of it!
  12. My doc also feels for it and has hit it everytime without incident. He also feels from the pressure - this last fill he was fully prepared to give me 1.5 cc's but stopped at 1 cc because of the pressure on the syringe - and then I had to go get a slight unfill because even 1cc was too much so I ended up with only .5cc more than what I had hence the reason for me going back this weds for another tweek because I need more than the .5 but the 1cc was too much - so I'm going to ask for .3 or .4 more
  13. Its so funny how a lot of people & Docs say you have to wait for it to kick in etc etc. My doc told me after my 2nd fill that I will probably notice a lot of weight loss with that fill because he could feel it was a little hard to get the 2nd cc in - then he immediately told me that it won't just "loosen" up or "kick in" and don't wait for it to do so. He advised it was an immediate type of thing. Funny - I could swallow the water at the office after the fill but when I got to the parking lot and was taking swallows on the way home I knew it didn't feel quite right - then I had problems eating solids - but could get sips and mushies down just fine - I was slightly too tight so he took some out. Anyway sorry to get off topic - but I say go get a fill if you think you need it and he'll give it!
  14. Well then you need this DVD - I can't praise it enough! And I'm so happy to find something tailored to us plus size ladies I tried a yoga tape about 5 years ago when it was becoming very popular and I rememeber very specifically how it was SOOO HARD! The positions were difficult and not easy at all - so of course I gave up shortly into the session - this has renewed my hope in yoga
  15. The only thing thats coming to my mind is the flipped port thing since you have lost a significant amount of weight - I've heard lots of people as well as you have on here talk about flipped ports and from what I gather they can happen at anytime for any reason. I'd get it checked - keep us posted!
  16. Well I just had a recent experience where my boyfriend told me my shirt was too tight - and it wasn't really a pleasant experience knowing my boyfriend thinks I was too fat to wear this tight shirt - at first he just said he didn't like the shirt and then I asked why - knowing what the answer was but wanting to hear it from him and then he told me it was too tight on me. I guess I appreciate it because I don't want to embarrass myself as I consider myself a trendy dresser and I don't like to see other people wearing things they can't pull off - but it still hurt my feelings A LOT!
  17. I have to share my experience. I've had a problem getting motivated to excercise - I walk 2-3 times a week for 20-30 minutes but thats it. I did a lot of research for fat friendly excercises that wasn't too rigorous for a beginner like me. I have to give so much praise for this excercise DVD that I bought and did the first time the other day - now I can't wait to do it again! Its called JUST MY SIZE YOGA - and it is taught by a beautiful plus size lady named Megan. The moves are basic yoga so this is definately a beginner tape but I found my muscles to be pleasantly warm and tingling after the workout and an elevated heart rate - not the burning, aching muscles and way to rapid heart rate I've experienced with other activites. The moves are shown improvised for the larger people so they are not difficult at all. This DVD actually makes me want to do it everyday - this is a BIG thing for me and I'm excited to share this for anyone else who struggles with excercising. I also like the added benefits of yoga as feeling more centered and balanced through breathing and meditation. I find it empowering I got a brand new one from AMAZON for a little over $10 bucks. I love it
  18. I'm in - I'm hoping to lose 8lbs by my birthday Jan 10. which means I've got to kick some serious ass as I've only lost 10lbs in 5 months - but I'm going for a tweek fill in my band on Weds. so I'm hoping that will help me out. So 8lbs in 2 months for my birthday is my mini-goal.
  19. Yes do tell! Curious minds want to know why are you sick of your band? How much weight have you lost and how long have you had your band? This is the first I've heard of anyone WANTING their band removed - please give us your insight
  20. Wow WhippleDaddy - that sounds like a very interesting book - I give Penni - whats yours about??? I'm here as a cheerleader too!!
  21. Speaking of pork rinds - no I don't eat them - but I saw the darndest thing the other day in the Wal-Mart check out line - they had individual bags like microwave popcorn bags except they were microwaved pork rinds!!! Can you believe that? That's crazy!
  22. Yea exactly DeLarla - how can you have BBQ Ribs unless they're prepared? And ROTISSERIE chicken??? COME ON! How can it be rotisseried unless you have a Rotissire machine to PREPARE it in...........you made this one too hard to play.......and the reason I have them all lumped together is because that's the only way I can eat a bagel - there is no point without cream cheese just as there is no point to eat a potato without goup to go on it - no point in eating a hot dog without mustard Ok ok here is my revamped list - but I'm stickin with condiments shouldn't be counted as a food item ex. BBQ sauce & mustard and to me on a baked potato the butter, sour cream & cheese are just condiments - LOL 1. French Toast (pre-made) 2. Peanut Butter 3. Bacon 4. Green Olives 5. Baby Dill Pickles 6. Reese's PB Cups 7. Starbucks Frappacinos (storebought ones) 8. Ben & Jerry's Everything But The 9. BBQ'd hot dogs w/ mustard 10. Sourkraut YEAAAA!!! I did it! Did I do it right? LOL
  23. Why no prepared foods??? No fun! 1. Potatoes w/ butter sour cream & cheddar cheese (this all counts as one item) 2. French Toast (you can buy this pre-made too) 3. Bagels & Cream Cheese 4. Bacon 5. BBQ Ribs 6. Green Olives 7. Starbucks Frappacinos - not the prepared ones but already made storebought 8. Reese's PB Cups 9. Baby Dill Pickles 10. Ben & Jerry's Everything But The I have to add one more 11. Hot dogs w/ mustard & a can of sourkraut
  24. Yes I agree! bacon should be a free food - my boyfriend always looks for the bacon with the most meat on it - why? I myself like a good mix of salty fat too - that's what makes it taste so good - you know the bite where you get a little crunch from the meat but the fat makes the piece melt in your mouth? In my best Homer Simpson voice - Mmmmmmmmmmmm bacon...
  25. Yes she disgusts me too - I think she's soooo overrated........how did she become so popular - for God's sake she's just a model like all the others and now someone's given her another damn TV show .........who cares?
