  1. hi newbie - if you do a search through the forums for any of these questions they have all been answered in depth at one point or another. But since you are new I will address your questions - 1. Not everyone has to have plastic surgery to remove excess skin - it all depends on the individiual, how much weight you have to lose, whether you excercise, drink enough Water, don't smoke, eat right and age. Too many factors to x in on. 2. Problems include slippage, erosion, things getting stuck, acid refux. Again just start searching the forums and become familiar with this site - every question you have has been answered here, but feel free to ask if you can't find specifically what your looking for. 3. Your nutritional plan is decided by your dr and whether or not you need to see a nutritinoist - everyone's meal plans are different as they vary from dr. to dr. do some readin on here and you will find a variety of everyone's plans. 4. I don't know if there is any specific weight they won't operate on - they go by your BMI (body mass idex) and your health problems/concerns. Again I encourage you to become familiar with this board and just start reading as much as you can here to learn everything you need good and bad. Welcome
  2. ok vines - i live in a small town so belly dancing is not offered anywhere close - what about this DVD - Belly Dance for Romance with Jayna - ever heard of it???
  3. Hey all - I'm looking to expand my excercise DVD's beyond yoga & tai chi by adding something more aerobic - I'm wanting easy recommendations for some sort of sexy dancing. I'm hoping VINES will chime in here as I know she is an experienced belly dancer although belly dancing isn't what I'm looking for, but more so like some striptease or along those lines. I was thinking along the lines of the Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease? Anyone tried it - is it hard for a beginner? Did you like it? Please chime in and let me know what you've tried, what you liked about it and what you didn't - like I said I need something geared towards a beginner that wouldn't be too complicated as I'm just a sorta an average dancer - my moves arn't so smooth and need some help. With this new body that I'm aiming for - I want to be able to shake it correctly So tell me what you've tried! P.S. what was the name of that instructor Oprah had on that taught you how to pole dance???? I liked her but does she have anything besides the pole dancing as I will not be installing a pole in my living room to excercise
  4. I don't know - I would try to be re-banded - except that I don't have the money to do so and who's to say the 2nd one would last either? I would also take a mighty interest in this new gastric pacemaker - never would I ever have gastric bypass or stapling - I like my organs just the way they are and I would choose to be a fatass for life before having my organs cut up and re-arranged.
  5. I gained weight after surgery before my first fill. Lost 8lbs in the first week, then gradually gained back 4lbs before my first fill and I've fought those 4lbs back off and plus 3lbs more. I wouldn't worry, unfortuntaely it happens to some of us. Wait for your fill.
  6. Thank you Jack for helping us remember to calm down and take each moment as they come I too needed a gentle reminder after the widespread panic here.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions - I will report back in soon and keep the suggestions coming if you have em!
  8. hmmmmm so do I need to search for a software program that can be downloaded to a palm pilot? I don't own a palm pilot either but I guess that would make sense - I just figured with today's technology they'd already have this sort of device all ready to go. Anyone else have thoughts on this subject?
  9. I did mine 3 times this week - that's great for me! Anyone else tried it out - chime in with your thoughts!
  10. I'm rooting for Suzy too, but really I think it will be Matt who wins - he just has had this extra driven determination through out the whole show, I just have a hunch. And yes if I didn't have a full time job and a family life and the money & access to a personal trainer I too could do what they have. I was going to apply but there is no way I could have taken off from work and let the bills pile up. It is a wonderful opportunity they each were blessed with and they all made the most of it - kudos for them! I want to know what happened to that big black guy MO last season - anyone heard how he was doing?
  11. VINES - so glad to hear that at least so far you don't have a leak. I also felt like she was speaking to me although I wouldn't say I eat around the band but I do indulge sometimes in the things we shouldn't - but its never overly so. Like today I had a PB Twix - I couldn't help it - is that what she's talking about? I feel so guilty since the weight isn't coming off that any indulgence I have makes me feel like crap because then I sit there and say well I wonder why I'm not losing weight? But I can't eat healthy constantly 24/7 - what kind of life would it be without a PB Twix to indulge in? I'm not doing it everyday. The other bad thing I had was a few potato chips & a little dip - I counted 7 of them. That was only because I was at work & hungry with nothing else available before my dinner break. But even with the twix & chips I still counted & logged the food & calories & am still on target for the day. Please tell me how you all feel about what I've just discussed because I'm confused - is that what I'm doing? Am I eating around the band, is that the reason for slow weight loss? One thing I know I'm guilty of is not getting the required amount of Water each day. On a positive note - I did want to pat myself on the back for doing yoga 3 times this week for 45 minutes each session - that's the most excercise I've had in a longgggg time and I plan on continuing - I actually love the way I feel when I'm done with my yoga workout and plan on adding Tai Chi and QiQong along with working up to Budokon.
  12. Does anyone know of a pocket nutrition calculater/food journal - I guess I'm thinking along the lines of an electronic day planner (like a Palm Pilot) but its used for tracking your food & calories etc. and I'm looking for one you can personalize by putting your own foods in. Anyone know of anything to buy on the net? I'm not having any luck with what I'm looking for, but I was thinking surely with todays technology and health fanatics that something like this would exist!! I have realized I like logging my food because it makes me conscious of what I eat, but I log it online at www.kraftfoods.com where they have an interactive nutrition diary that gives you everything you need, but I hate having to go to the computer everytime and most times I'm not around one when I need it. I like to see what calories I'm consuming right then and there so I know how to plan. Can anyone help me look for this since I'm not having any luck? A sincere thanks in advance! The Smoocher
  13. LOL - call Tom Cruise about your questions in Scientology - I'm sure he's up for a new recruit
  14. Yes I am in a panic - 6 months and little weight loss to show. I feel like I literally have a ticking time bomb in me. I was inspired by her post to really start getting the weight off especially since there could be so little time as people have slipped & eroded in under 1 year of surgery and here I am 6months out.

  18. I know I saw it - don't they all look fabulous! I was just thinking if I'd get my head out of my ass and work like they did then I probably wouldn't need PS when I'm done. I want one of those cutouts too !
