Injuries causing exercise issues...??
I can certainly relate to gaining and losing the same 4 pounds over the last month. The only problems I have had is badly spraining my ankle and had to take 10 days off my walking. i try to walk a minimum of 4 miles a day.

Anyone Banded 9/5/07 ?
I believe it is normal for the weight loss to slow down as your body gets used to new you. Most of my loss happen in the first 6 months the last two months the loss has slowed way down. But I am thrilled with the results as well as not diabetes medicine and no cpap machine to deal with anymore.

starting to get nervous
I was very nervous before the surgery. My wife both had surgery on the same day so we had a chance to be nervous together and I have not regretted the decision to have it.

keeping it a secret
I am very open with my weight loss and most people are supportive. For me it was a health decesions and people were concern about my health and continue to give me courage. Plus it is pretty hard to hide when you lose over a hundred pounds.

question about bread/hamburgers
I agree that whle a hamburger once in a while is nice it takes me a good hour to eat a medium size hamburger. Nothing worse than a cold hamburger. I did know someone who would put a cheeseburger and milk in a blender but I could never bring myself to try it.

Do You Regret Getting Banded ??? VOTE !
Having loss of feeling in my hands and feet were a major concern as well as numbing in my lips. I also was having trouble with my eyesight. I was also drinking tons of Water and always so thirsty, I also had trouble getting rid of sores on my feet and arms drove me to find a better way of taking care of myself. As a result I have very little pain if any in my body after living with pain every day for years.

@#*Popcorn#@*
I love popcorn and still eat it on a regular basis. The only difference now is that I do not eat it by the fistful but one kernel at a time and chew it really well. Like all food it is important to chew it well.

Do You Regret Getting Banded ??? VOTE !
I certainly do not regret getting the lap band. My sugars was over 300, When I started looking at the lap band after years of losing weight and gaining ten to twenty pounds more I found myself at at a weight of over 317 (317 was my highest recorded weight do not know how much over 317 I actually went) I had to use a CPAP machine. I had pain all over my body. Know even though for the last two months my weight has been stable I have lost over a 100 lbs. I am no longer am diabetic. I no longer use a CPAP machine. my joints do not hurt. I have tons more energy and my waist has gone from 46 to 40 inches.

Diabetic Bandsters?
I was taking 1600 mg a day of Glucophage for my diabetics 2. I have gone from a high weight of 317 to my present weight of 213. I no longer take Glucophage or use a cpap machine. My fasting blood sugars average 100.

Weight loss is getting harder
Congratulations on losing the 100 pounds. I am coming off a six week plateau where I gain and lost the same 2 pounds. Perhaps your body is adjusting. I firmly believe with others that the first 100 seem to come off with a great deal of consistency. The remaining weight to lose will take longer so just hang in there.

Only one more time
I have flown and have had to ask for a seat belt extension and I find that most of the time have not have a problem getting a seat belt extension. My wife and I just got back from a plane trip on United to Florida and it felt great not to ask for a seat belt extension and it felt great to have 10 inches of belt left. It also felt great to be able to walk down the aisle and not have to walk sideways to get to my seat. Your day will come as well.

Lost 100 lbs? What band do you have??
Molly I also have the 4 cc lapbanc I have had 3 fills for a total of 2.5 cc. The oly thing I would add to your list is to make sure you cut up your Protein into small pencil erarser pieces. Remember chew, then chew, then chew some more.

can you feel the port?
I know the port is there and I can feel the port quite easily. Occasionally I touch the port location and remind myself that I am not really dreaming and I have actually lost weight.

Banded Together? huband/wife at the same time
My wife and I were banded on the same day on 9-12-07. Since her sister lives with us they allowed us to have it done on the same day since we would have someone to drive us home. We stayed overnight and shared a hospital room and waved each other as we got up at different times to use the restroom and walk around. We have been each other best friends for so many years why not do it together.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Question
Try not to get to concern if some weeks you do not lose or even gain a pound here and there. Even though we feel we should be rewarded by losing weight every week the body adjust along the way. The basic idea is to follow the plan and pick up on little victories along the way and enjoy your new life.

What weight did you use as your starting point your highes or weight on surgery day ?
I use my highest weight 317 lbs which was the weight I was when I was diagnosed with Diabetes. I had lost about 80 lbs and I was on a low dosage of my diabetes medication. I needed to use a cpap machine to breathe and sleep at night. As I have done before I started gaining the weight back. I had regained most of the weight and then when I reached 300 lbs maybe higher my scales wont go any higher my sugar was over 300 as well and I decided I needed to do something in order to keep living. My pre surgery weight is 285 and that is a date I want to track because it is the beginning of my lap band journey. At the time of this writing I am 217 lbs and am almost off my medicine. I no longer use the cpap machine. So in my case both the highest weight and my starting surgery weight have equal importance to me.
