Loose Skin? Lap Band Success Stories?
I had my 4cc Lapband surgery in September 2007 and currently have 1cc of fluid in the band Most of my loose skin is around my mid section and thighs and upper legs so it is easily hidden. I may at sometime in the future have plastics Best decision for me was to have the Lapband

Lap band - more fluid, less restriction
All our bodies react differently with the band. For me if I have more than 1 cc then have a tremendous amount of acid reflux. So after years of trying to put in more fluid for more restriction I have learned that 1 cc is my limit and not to try any more. Fluid Intake is another key I almost never drink with my meal or drink anything prior and after my meals for 20 minutes. Otherwise it seem that I can eat forever when I drink with my meals For me I need to go to bed by 9pm because I tend to eat late at night. I do quite a bit of walking which helps pass some of the time away. Seems that I eat or graze during the day if I do not take in at least 40 to 64 ounces of liquid. I use the 80 20 rule that is make good eating choices 80% of the time and enjoy my self without guilt the other 20% of the time I still chew and chew and chew my food even mash potatos on thos rare occasions when I indulge in the 20% time For example last night we had Spaghetti and Meatballs and my portion size was 1/4 of everyone else but because I was very slow in eating I was still the last one to finish. I know that I could of eaten a lot more food last night but going into the meal I had already made up my mind that I would not over eat. I did reach for more but did not partake of more. Even if I would of eaten more I would not feel any guilt and it could of been part of my 20%, I am constantly look at my fist and remind myself would what I m planning to eat fill my fist and then that helps me to have portion control. For me the lapband is just a tool and only I can control what goes in my mouth whether I am filling restriction or not.

Hit onederland!
Very impressive Keep up the good work. Losing weight during Covid and the Holidays takes dedication For me one of the mantra that I tried to follow is the the 80 / 20 rule. 80% of the time make good choices and 20% take the freedom to enjoy a treat or indulge (small Portion) of some item that you have not had in a while. Today I have many things to be Thankful for

13 years later and - I Love my band
I have only had my band for 13 years so 18 years is very impressive. For the most part have kept off most of the weight but just have to remember to make more good choices than bad one. I tried to adhere to the Following "Use the 80/20 Rule: 80% of the time, make ideal, healthy choices. The other 20% of the time, enjoy the treats you love in moderation and let yourself savor the experience." Makes losing weight slower but we are in this for a safe lifetime.

nothing really happening prefill...
Really depends on the size of the Lapband, I have the 4 cc lapband and only have 1 cc of fluid in the band any more than that I am to tight and have problems. I have to rely on the fact that for me that is enough fluid and just remember to make more good choices than bad ones.

Losing Quarantine Weight!
I normally gain during November and December and then take the next few months losing the weight. This year I had to work from home and by the middle of May had gained 7 lbs from the holidays and then an additional 10 lbs from March to the Middle of May. As of today I have lost the 17 lbs. Part of my insurance program is they have an app where I weigh in every day and give you suggestions on losing weight. You also have to take picture of your meals and submit on the app. As a result of having someone to be accountable to has kept me somewhat in line. The main weight gaining opportunity is unhealthy snacking. So this been curtailed as well.

Should I or shouldn’t I get Lap-Band
Do not know if you had the Lapband surgery or not. I had my 4cc Lapband surgery in September 2007. I still have the Lapband and have just over 1cc of fluid. My wife and I had the surgery done at the same time. About 3 years ago she had it removed mostly due to accident reflux. She had the Lapband removed fixed a hernia unrelated to the Lapband, and the sleeve done. She still has to take a pill for acid reflux. I have kept off over 100 to 130 pounds for the majority of the 11 years. Wish you success in whatever choice you make.

Still Happy!
Terrific and congrats. I have never regretted my decision to have the lap band. Though I have had a love hate relationship it helps keeps me in line.

LapBand newbie
I have had my band since September 2007 and have had many ups and down. I believed had I not had the band I would either be dead or over 400 lbs. I have never reached my goal but have kept off over a hundred pounds during the majority of my journey. I do a lot of walking and I agree no fizzy drinks.

Bergen County, New Jersey-want to switch doctors
Yes it is possible to switch doctors. I had to switch due to moving away form a doctor. two other times the doctor either went back to university to teach or retired. One did not care for Current one was a formerly my doctor and he moved his offices closer to me so I went back.

Lap Band 11 years out
I had my lap band surgery in September 2007 so I am almost at 11 years. I have a 4 cc band with just a little 1 cc of fluid in the band anymore than that and it is too tight. I am usually a little tight in the morning so I normally have a protein and banana shake in the morning. For the better part of the 11 years the band has kept me from overeating. My problems have been my on doing eating to fast. Meal times are not usually a problem for me I normally eat what I am supposed to eat. Before the band I would eat late at night so I combat that by going to bed by 9:00 pm and getting up at 4:00 to go walking. If I do not exercise I tend to eat a lot more and if I drink with my meal I will eat more. I tend to make more good choices then bad choices. it is amazing to me that what I consider a binge is completely different. Where before I could eat 10 to 12 tacos in 20 minutes. Now 3 tacos in an hour is a binge for me. Congratulations on only being 20 lbs over your lowest weight. I would say that you are in a good place.

13 Things To Know About Living With the Lap-Band
Your information you have provided is almost the same as my surgeon provided my wife and I almost 9 years ago. While I have had my ups and downs with the lap band mostly due to my own lack of follow-through. I do consider the lap band as a true life saver.
