My nutritionist and surgeon told me not to cus most of the time u tend to swallow air when your chewing gum which will cause air bubbles that hurt in ur stomach or gas.

Hope you feel better real soon. I felt so bad for about 2-3 weeks, that I almost felt bad for having the surgery. But, it did finally pass, and I can't imagine where I would be today if I had not done it. I am 4 months out and doing great now. Hang in there and definitely rest, drink water, and get as much protein as possible in.

    3. HalloweenBaby24

      HalloweenBaby24

I've been resting a lot and taking my pills (pian and vitamins) been getting in 60oz of water and 80gr of protein a day. I have no feeling of fullness yet and I'm feeling hungry no matter what I do. I hope once I hit puree phase things will change, I'm starting to get worried the surgeon made my sleeve too big or something lol.

Yes, indeed, call your doctor. Mine refuses to do telephone diagnosis. Last year I thought I pulled a muscle in my back just below the shoulder blade, and Ben-Gay made it hurt like hell. After several days it did not let up, so I called and he told me he would squeeze me in. When he looked at my back, he knew right away what it was. I had shingles and there I was putting Ben-Gay on it. Boy did I learn my lesson about trying to guess what something is. The doctor said I also had "Google-itis" and to stop diagnosing myself on the internet!

    3. KayleeC14

      KayleeC14

Call your doc, he or she will help you. I did a little too much after surgery and let the pain slip without keeping up on the pain medicine and learned a powerful lesson. If you are on pain medicine what did they give you? I was on liquid Lortab which is a higher dose of Tylenol.

    4. HalloweenBaby24

      HalloweenBaby24

@Kaylee14 @Miss Mac called my Dr's office today and was told the Nurse Practitioner would call me back, She did and I told her my issue, She basically just told me to get over it...Didn't offer any other solution other then regular Tylenol and a heating pad which I've been doing without any relief. I was sent home with a week's worth of Oxycodone which I was taking at night only to ease the pain when sleeping and it was getting better, The first week out I was fine thing's felt well and then I got this head cold and sneezed myself paralyzed.

That was the first thing out of my mouth when I saw my dr. for my two-week follow-up. On a 90 degree day. "I'm cold all the time!" LOL

He said it was totally normal, and to expect it to get worse through the winter--"invest in fleece!" he said! What a joker. It's more than just losing weight. It's operating on so few calories, as well as our bodies spending so much energy on healing. It should get better in a year or two.

Joining my gym was the best thing I ever did! Pre-surgery I was a member at a big fitness club (pool, cafe, computer area, etc.) and I was real uncomfortable there. Too many times I'd go, get in gym clothes, buy a smoothie, hop on a computer for a bit and then leave. The small Anytime Fitness I'm at now is perfect. The trainers greet us all by name. Early in my membership I missed 10 days in a row and they actually called to check on me. Distance is a huge factor too! It's just 5 minutes from my house, where the big club was 10 and a few to find a parking spot. Just that little bit matters. Best wishes on finding a gym that work for you!!

    4. HalloweenBaby24

      HalloweenBaby24

@HealthyNewMe I was a member of PF for a year and loved it!, Sadly it's a bit far from me (15-20min drive) and don't offer childcare for my 4yo, regardless I won't have to bring her all the time but it's nice to have the option just in case my husband get's home late. @Ava324 I was able to join a local gym that is just around the corner from my home that offer's childcare and a small tight nit facility so I'm happy about it :) Hopefully

I can find the motivation to go.

It's good to educate yourself on the good, the bad, and the ugly. I know this is something that doesn't happen to everyone but still a little uneasy to know it exist.

@pink dahlia I've actually been quite the slow loser when it come's to Gastric Sleeve Surgery, But I was also on the lower end of the weight scale (Start weight 255). All I can say is keep going, Keep getting in your water, vitamins, protein, Also exercise...I've been going 3days a week for the past 3 weeks and have only lost 1.5lbs since going but I have seen a huge improvement in my waist, the way thing's fit and most of all my skin!
