Band to Sleeve...I think?
Lots of people lose more than the "average" amount with the sleeve. I works by restriction, and it's still there after 60 lbs. is lost. It depends on you to keep yourself healthy by eating between 60 and 80 grams of Protein a day and drinking at least 64 oz. of liquids. Becoming more and more active as you get further out from surgery helps you build more muscle and burn up calories.

Extracts
Extracts wouldn't be a problem at all.

Tj bound in the AM!
You may not need diabetes medicines after the surgery. My blood sugar reading went way down in 2 days. My surgeon estimated it would take 3 - 4 days.

can I be disgusting for a minute?!
When I was diabetic, sugar free hard candies and gum gave me problems due to the sugar alcohols in them... not an uncommon problem.

so frustrated
If you haven't already, take steps to avoid going from pre-diabetes to diabetes. That's the point in which the islet cells in your pancreas can't keep up and half of them die, not producing insulin. If you are able to, you might avoid this by exercising aerobically for an hour a day. It reduces you chance of getting it by 80%. If you don't feel that you know enough about your diet and possibly avoiding diabetes, I suggest you go to a diabetic nutritionist.

Telling girls and friends
I haven't found it hard at all. I've gotten good support and lots of curiosity about what it's like, etc. I don't feel as though I'm a cheater at all. I took the steps necessary to effectively get rid of weight that would take 10 years off my life. My husband and kids will benefit greatly. If someone has a problem with it, that's their problem. I really don't care. As far as eating, I cut everything up into little pieces and eat very slowly. Since everyone else eats more quickly, but a higher volume, we're usually done at the same time. No problem at all for me. Plus, why would how you lost weight be an issue? They're going to see a hot guy across from them.

Relaxation Techniques for Anxiety/Stress/Insomnia ?
For me, breathing slowly and deeply helps. For insomnia, stop looking at TV or computer screens for 2 hours before going to bed, sit in bed and read for a little while to slow down.

HELP! Weight gain during 6 month pre insurance requirements...
I think it depends on your insurance company. I would ask the bariatric coordinator and/or NUT if the goal is to lose weight during the pre-op period.

Plain yogurt = *gag*... Help!
Just google "recipe" and "raita" for Indian savory recipes using yogurt. You can add roasted or cooked veggies, or fresh cucumber + spices (not necessarily hot ones) and it helps to wet your food and provide extra Protein. It helps to make it a few hours before you eat it because the flavors need time to meld.
