Extracts

Has anyone ever used extracts to flavor their shakes? My mother suggested it and it sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure if it's okay to use them.

I use them. I do not tolerate artificial sugars and do not want to switch bad habits for other bad habits (chemical laden artificial sugars), and I HATE the taste of stevia. I do err on the side of caution and use as little as possible because extracts typically contain 2-3% alcohol.

Yes. My dietician gave me recipes too for them.

I use the torani sugar free syrups, especially with the Syntrax Cappuccino, I us chocolate and make a mocha latte or the French vanilla which is a treat too. just love it. ps. you can getthe small bottle for cheap as heck on walmart.com

I had surgery at Cleveland clinic in Weston Florida. The protocol after surgery is a tough one on what they allow. As long as the extract has no sugar they allow it. It helps when you need something new on the taste buds. I think the one I got was at whole foods. Banana flavor. I use it when I want a change in the shakes. The sugar free instant flavor coffees for great in shake also. I am now allowed caffeine again but find myself doing half calf a lot.

I am now adding a trip to WF to get some banana flavor. I hate the taste/smell of protein. I've tried 8 different brands and I just don't like it. The extracts make it tolerable enough to drink, and banana would be fun! Thank you!
