  1. Hello, I would like to know if anyone on here has tried a "waist trainer" after sleeve surgery. If so, has it been successful? Someone suggested I get one to gradually get the hourglass figure and this person swears by it. I ordered one from Amazon tonight to give it a try, but would love to hear from people who have tried it. Thanks.

That's scary!! I wonder what happens to people who eat pizza or a burger the day after. Their stomach is gone - so how do they get back straight? I know it's horribly dangerous. Wonder what their final outcomes are. People actually attempt pizza and burgers!!!!??? I would kill for just the toppings off a slice of pizza but I know better Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I eat anything but rice, very minimal bread, no fibrous veggies. But ive had half a double cheese burger, or one slice of pizza. Im 23 mths out. Its ok just as you know you need to continue to exercise. Its a total lifestyle change. But you will eat portions of a kid for the rest of your life. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Why would you do that to yourself. Its like trying to shove a pork chop threw a straw. You are not starving. Learn the difference of head hunger and real hunger. Drink Protein shakes. No solids for about a month maybe two. Swelling needs to go down. If you need guidance, reach out to me. Im at 23 mths. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Why is onederland so evasive?!

Weight training burns fat and builds muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Your scale number will mean something different at that point. Dont go by the number on the scale, go by how the clothes fits u. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Milestone

Well, I haven't been on the site for a long time and thought to check in. So far i have lost 83 lbs. I am in a state that I don't know where to buy clothes. I go to the plus size section out of habit and can't find anything. Then I go to the junior section and I am baffled about how I can now fit into a large or xl in junior size. Amazing?! I am now running on the treadmill which has shaped the body nicely so far. Also I have been doing weights: leg presses and shoulder lifts.

    Hair Loss

Yeah the 3 month mark seems to be just about right. At the 3rd month I started seeing globs of hair in my hand when I washed my hair, then a ton more on the floor when I blow dried. It was scary. But as they say, it will grow back. You will see lots of "baby hair" in the more skimpy areas and they will kind of stick up. I am 5 mths out of surgery and I think I can finally say, the globs has stopped. Now it is down to strands. Lots of it, but just not globs. So that is giving me an indication that the hair loss is slowing down. Plus I ordered this prodcut from a friend from "it works" and I can't wait to try it. It is for hair and nails. It is packed with Vitamins and minerals for hair.
  11. I haven't been on this site for a while since my last interaction wasn't pleasant. However, I am checking in to say, I have lost 83 lbs so far successfully.

    I'm scared I'll be saggy....

@@reeny Thank you Reeny for expressing what you have experienced. Now that I am not typing via my phone and can actually elaborate more on what I was trying to say while not getting my head torn off my other people..... The dietician explained to me that a lot has to do with age, ethnicity (for the elasticity of the skin. Usually Latinos have better luck with elasticity in their skin, mainly due to natural oily skin), coco butter lotion helps quite a bit. I am 41yrs old and I am of Spanish ethnicity, so the oily skin is of help with the elasticity. Losing weight slowly rather than rapid weight loss also help a lot as it gives time for the skin to recover. It is going to be perfect? NO. It is there going to be hard work on your part? YES. Will there be chances that skin will sag and you may need a tummy tuck? Yes there is always a chance. Nothing is perfect. I didn't mean to provide "pie in the sky" or false hopes to the original poster. I simply stated what was said to me, and I was limited to go into conversation further as I was texting my reply. But, nothing surprises me from the kind of feedback I got, with women jumping down my throat assuming I gave false hope or anything of the like. I have seen that type of behavior in many other posts and it is disgusting to say the least. I am not here to make virtual friends. I am simply here to learn from others, and give feedback on topics that I may relate to in hopes that it helps or brings awareness of sorts. Life is too short to be bitter and jump down people's throat just because you assumed the opinion of another person not to be ideal. I am sure you can Google around more information that may be of a positive note and speak with a professional. http://www.livestrong.com/article/116397-prevent-sagging-skin-during-weight/ Maybe this link will help some as well.

Well I am trying to give positive feedback. I stopped participating on this site due to the negative feedbacks. I come on here and try to give my example of something I can relate to as I had the same worries, and I get knocked down. I am done replying on this site. To the original poster, best of luck and keep your chin up. If u want to chat, direct message me. Thanks everyone.

    I'm scared I'll be saggy....

It is a fact that once skin stretches to a certain point, no amount of toning will make it magically snap back. If it hasn't stretched to that point, then it may with exercise and toning. Simple as that. If toning and exercise always helped with saggy skin, then why do people still have plastics??

I repeated and am doing what my professional dietician said. Are you a certified dietician? Or are you a Google researcher? Just wondering...

As long as you exercise to burn fat and gain muscle and drink lots of water for hydration you will be ok. Losing weight slowly instead of drastically is the key. It gives time for the skin's elasticity to work. I have lost 62lbs and won't need a tummy tuck or anything. My arms are a little flabby but that's my own day fault. I don't do arm exercises. But I will.
  21. You may want to read up on starvation mode. Then you will understand your body more. You are doing okay and no one looses at the same place. I had my surgery in January and I have been going down 2.5 to 3 pounds a week slowly. With preop included I have lost so far 62lbs.
  22. Good God, I am so scared. You should see how much my hair is falling. I take 10,000 mg Biotin a day. I don't know what else to do. To the veterans, how long does it last? I am so scared of having bald Patches on my head. I see it thining out so much. Look at the picture below (graphic, sorry)....that is how much hair I lost in one time washing my hair tonight. So sad.
  23. So, I am at the point that I need to pack up all my work clothes and into a box as they don't fit properly anymore. Not only did I loose my boobs, but my butt so far. So needless to say, I can't wear sloppy clothes to work. It hurts me because I spent a lot of money on these work clothes and they are in excellent shape. Many I washed by hand because of the embellishments. You know how expensive Lane Bryant, Avenue and Macy's can be. I wish I can sell them and maybe that money will help towards new clothes. Has anyone had any luck with selling their fat clothes on ebay? What other suggestions are there? If I knew of someone that is in dire need of clothes, I would give it away. I don't have an issue with that. But I guess I would do that by recommendation. Thoughts?
  24. I agree with @BLERDgirl. Go by what your nutrionist says. As for exercise, don't kill yourself. Start slow and work it up gradually. Anything you do will be more than what you did before with your old weight. Let your body appreciate the changes, losing weight slowly is safer and more permanent than shocking the body. It is a life style change, not a temporary weightloss fad. Just get used to eating the amt of calories they told you, watch what you eat (myfitnesspal app) and move more. Anything helps. 15 mins break at work, go for a walk. That will burn 60 + calories easy. Park further away. Have a dog? Go for longer walks, they will appreciate it. What you eat? Protein, protein, protein first....veggies second and grains (healthy ones) last..if it even fits. Protein should be higher than your carb count when looking at labels. Watch for hidden sugars.

    Fast food favorites?

Wendy's Chili is good and so is Panera's turkey chili. Pollo Tropical has shrimp on a stick Taco Bell, one fresco taco is more than enough for me. I am usually full half way Publix Supermarket- their deli chicken soup Denny's- Build your own grand slam - eggs, turkey bacon, grits (you will have left overs) These are emergency suggestions, you can always look into their nutitional info on your phone app while I on the road to make pre-made decisions. However, let this be emergency options, because at the end of the day,no matter what...everything that is not cooked at home will be extremely high in sodium.
