teachingkids2004 got a reaction from PRINCESSM in Anyone have advice on telling teenagers about the sleeve?
I may sound like a teen magazine advice columnist buuuuuuuut if you can't be open with them without fear of ridicule, maybe they aren't the best friends to have around. I understand your feelings, though. You do what's right for you and don't worry what others think.

teachingkids2004 got a reaction from Terribj in VETS - packing list help?
I packed all that too and didn't use it! I only needed the stretchy outfit to go home in. I felt so nauseous that I didn't even use my phone! I also used a hair tie.
But it's better to be over prepared. Good luck!!!

teachingkids2004 reacted to Kindle in becoming increasingly frustrated
So you're upset about "only" losing 50 pounds in 2 months?!? Unfortunately I can't give you any suggestions, because I don't see the problem. You should be happy and proud of your success. And your doctor should go pound sand.

teachingkids2004 reacted to AussieLady in Two Surgeons but one choice = Dilemma
I would definitely go with Surgeon #2. When you are getting major surgery like this you want a surgeon who is experienced and confident with this procedure. Surgeon 1 might be charming but I would not let anyone perform surgery on me if they didn't believe in what they were doing. I'm thinking that he also doesn't have a lot of experience in this surgery also.

teachingkids2004 reacted to NMJG in Hate my protein shakes
Don't trash it yet. Your tastes will change over time and in 4 months they might appeal to you. Search on this site for Protein shakes and you will get lots of recommendations.
Personally, I like Syntrax Matrix brand (Peanut Butter cookie - yum), Chike Protein coffee, and unjury chicken broth flavors. I also use Beneprotein powder, a medical grade whey protein that dissolves into anything. Great to add to any liquid or puree.
