January 2014 Sleevers
My surgery was yesterday! Today is really the first day of my new life! I'm feeling ok. Slept well in spite of every 2 hour vitals check. I have a button I can push for pain medicine - it's great. Today (hopefully ASAP) I'll have a test for leaks and I can finally start sipping water! I'll be in here until tomorrow.

Pre-Op Cold
My surgery is the 8th. I came down with a bad cold last Sunday. I called my primary doctor for meds and have been slowly feeling better. My pre-admission testing went well yesterday so I'm set for Wednesday. I would go by the other good suggestions and stay in bed all weekend. I'm definitely taking it easy until my Wednesday. Dreading my all liquids on Tuesday! Feel better!

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
Pre-admission testing went well today. All set for January 8th! I'm just hoping cold/sinus infection is completely gone. Can't imagine coughing after surgery. I was worried that the surgeon and anesthesiologist would want to postpone .

Very embarrassed but question about Urinary incontinence
I gave up diet coke and diet Pepsi in mid-October. Now that I think about it I haven't had as much problems with the stress incontinence. Is there any medical evidence this is a cause? I just thought my body was getting used to drinking 64 oz of water everyday. Hey, whatever... I will take it. so embarrassing and annoying!

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
That's how I felt when I started my low carb diet but I lost 40 lbs on Atkins once - gained it all back plus. I'm sure I would be more upset if I had a headache with the liquid diet!

Crozer Chester Hospital outside Philadelphia. It's just so interesting how the surgeons have different pre-op routines. I feel safer following a conservative method but envy those who don't Telling myself this is my new life. Can't take it easy now, that's how I got myself in this predicament.

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
Oh and I've been off caffeine for about 3 weeks and carbonated beverages since I began the low carb. It was easier than I expected but I miss my Diet Coke! It was just so much easier to pop open a can - not a big coffee fan.

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
My date is Jan. 8. I was able to maintain a low carb diet since I began seeing my NUT in mid October. On Christmas Day I had to begin a13 day diet of 2 protein shakes and a "sensible" meal - 4 oz of lean meat or seafood, 1 cup of cooked vegetables and a small salad with light dressing. Jan. 7 is all day clear liquids... I want my low carb diet back Hopefully I'll adjust in a couple days but right now I'm hungry!

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
521 Diva As you read the other posts you will see that most surgeons have differing opinions on pre-op diets. My friend is having surgery in February at a different hospital in the Philadelphia suburbs and she doesn't have 2 week diet either. I'm going to follow my doctor's directions. He has an excellent success rate and I'm happy with the support I receive from his practice.
