  1. That's a lot to handle. If this continues then it might be worth taking for a short time. I would try to find new things to do to help soothe your emotions. Today I am going for a mani/pedi. Be kind to yourself.
  2. Hi, been feeling the same way. I watched my protein and started exercising again. Dropped 2 lbs but could be water. Trying to control my impatience but it's hard.
  3. It's difficult to see lives cut short for whatever the reason. You look great!
  4. Coffee headache foe me was the worst....
  5. I was doing great for a few days when I started eating soft to regular foods per Dr.....and then problems. I haven't tolerated anything I ate yesterday. Going back to protein shakes for a few days. I know it's early but discouraging never the less.
  6. Don't feel alone.....I do too.
  7. I also think I had low blood sugar. Was so focused on protein I didn't realize that I had no Carbs!
  8. From what I heard tastes can change. My own experience though is my tastes are the same. I have had only one negative experience post op and that was from not chewing well enough. I would make sure that you have the support of your dr. I have also had an emotional response that I didn't expect. Some say the hormones are released from the fat or it could be low blood sugar. The more info you have the better your decisions.
  9. Wow....I had an episode that was ridiculous! Embarrassed about it now!
  10. Good luck. See you on the losers bench!
  11. I was able to quit using Chantix and allowing myself to chew as much Nicarette gum as I needed. Also ate a lot of sunflower seeds. Eventually I changed to regular gum. I don't think I could have quit if I had a husband or fiancé smoking around me though.
  12. I am pretty sure the amount is so small that it won't have an effect. However, if you can do without then no worries. Depends on your pain tolerance.
  13. I am 13 days out. SW 248! DS 228, CW. 217. My DR said I can start eating whatever I can tolerate. He said there's nothing I can eat that will damage sutures. This makes it easier to tolerate but harder to track exact protein.
  14. That's a tough one. I would postpone iit a short time a then celebrate. What were you going to do?
  15. It depends on your insurance. When I moved to HMO I had to get a new PCP and made sure the IPA had a program. I made sure I had all this going during my first visit.
  16. You look great!

Wow some really rude people around you. While I have no doubt some people might be thinking some not polite things, no one has said them to my face. Could be because they are scared of me....lol.
  18. I am 12 days out and haven't had any dumping. The only problem was when I had some coffee with creamer but it wasn't an emergency, nor did I get sick. My doctor is pretty lenient and said I can return to normal foods as long as I was careful of stringy foods and foods that would swelll. I have been able to eat eggs and fish already. I have gotten full where I knew not to eat another bite but no pain....only concerned because everyone else seems to be on a different schedule then me?
  19. Don't remember it, only going down the hall. Yes, mine was dry and eventually gave me sponges No, I wasn't in pain. Yes, I was very sleepy but was burping. No pain other a little stinging at surgical wounds and felt the gas on chest. No hot flashes. Not cold but was bundled up. I did have headache and nauseous, but that's how anesthesia effects me even though they did what they could to limit it. Blood pressure low.
  20. Wow..I am 12 days out and I am allowed to start eating normal foods. My biggest issue will be the volume and eating slowly. I will need to start weighing and measuring to make sure I don't over do it too.
  21. At first I onlly told a few people but it got more difficult as time went on to keep my calendar clear and field peoples curiosity. I figured since I was doing this for me I might as well get behind it and not hide.
  22. Beautiful and so sad. It's something I needed to read. Thanks.
  23. No you are not to thin. I was 228 on day of surgery at 5'4".
  24. You look great. Thank you for sharing your story and pics. Inspirational.
  25. Here's to a year full of laughs, accomplishments and new things!
